Chapter 3: Preparing for the Nights ahead

Henry's office was dimly lit, only having a bright desk lamp lighting the room. Henry himself sat at his desk, which was littered with papers atop a series of folded blueprints. Off to his side, Villetta stood with her hands together in front of her. Opposite of the desk, Annerose and Mitico sat upon two chairs, leaving Rikuro to stand off to the side.
Letting out a small cough beforehand, Henry began to speak. "From what I've heard from Evan, your small agency is one of the best around. And one of the best that still exists in a world trying to advance faster than it should. Your skills and unique talents make you formidable. It is because of that, that I sought you out."
"Quite the flattery." Annerose remarked to Henry. "What is it leading to?"
Henry began to organize some of the papers on his desk, shifting them into order as he continued to speak. "News will spread fast that Fazbear entertainment is up and running again. It will get the attention of many people, including a few that won't be good for business. The reason you are all here is to help keep these undesirables in check, should they arrive when the restaurant opens for business."
"So you seek security for your business?" Mitico inquired.
"No... it's more so that I want security for the security." Henry replied to the green haired woman. "I have thought long and hard about this venture, and have planned much for it. But I cannot accommodate for the threat any night guards will run into during their jobs, nor how high the threat level may be."
"Night guards?" Annerose raised her brow in slight intrigue. "Only them? No day shifters?"
"Given everything I was able to keep up with my old business over my trying years, I've found that the night guards are always affected by the job the most." Henry said as he scooted back a bit in his chair, opening a drawer from under his desk.
Annerose watched as he grabbed an item from the drawer before closing it and scooting back up. The item in question was revealed to be a Fazbear brand night guard security hat that was purple in color.
"Every restaurant. Every location. The night guards were always attacked." Henry explained as he kept his eyes on the bay in his hands. "The managers of each establishment claimed the animatronics were never given a proper night mode and would assume the night guards were exoskeletons without a suit. The few night guards that fell victim to the animatronics were forced into spare animatronic suits filled with spring locks and other mechanical parts. It's safe to say that it was far from the prettiest sight."
Villetta gave a small grimace off to the side, trying her best not to let the image of Henry's description enter her mind.
"Ouch." Rikuro muttered out his comment in regards to imagery, a grimace forming on his face as well. "That sounds like something Mitico would do to me if she had the chance... I should probably steer clear of any empty animatronic suits when I'm around her."
However, Annerose and Mitico were not as affected by the information given to them as Rikuro and Villetta were as their faces were calm and collected.
"I take it you do not believe that the lack of a proper night mode is what caused the animatronics to go after those night guards." Annerose surmised to Henry.
"If each animatronic was based from my original designs, then the night mode would not be an issue." Henry said as he set the bay down on his desk. "And yet it happened every time at four locations, some of which were built in different years. How would something deemed as a major safety issue occur each time a Fazbear location was built? No, I believe the cause was... much darker."
Henry then looked over to a nearby photo frame propped up on his desk. There were several people in the photo, but the only one he could focus on was the image of his daughter hold a doll of the Puppet. He shook his head before looking back at Annerose.
"That is another discussion for another time, though." He said before reaching over for several file folders on his desk. "I imagine you'll be needing these for the work you will be conducting."
Henry handed over the files to Annerose, who took them in her hands. She passed one each to Rikuro and Mitico while keeping the rest.
Rikuro raised his brow when he was handed the file. Upon opening it, he was met with the title of the file which read: 'The Bite of 87'. With his intrigue growing upon reading the title, Rikuro opted to skim through the other pages in the folder, taking quick notice to the image of an animatronic on the next page. The animatronic was constructed with an outer shell that resembled a fox that primarily white and pink in color with red lips, rosy cheeks, and a hook on in place of its right hand. Deciding to skim some more, Rikuro soon found his eyes widening in surprise as to what he saw on the third page. It was the animatronic from before, but it was brutally disfigured. Wires were hanging out and the head was missing it's left eye. It's entire body was a poorly mismatched combination of endoskeleton parts that were all in the wrong places, one of which was an endoskeleton head attached to the where the hook hand originally was. Glancing above the grisly image, Rikuro found a name placed above the animatronic. 'Mangle.'
Mitico was next to open up the file given to her. The title of it read: 'Bonnie' and under the title was the picture of bluish-purple animatronics rabbit with a red bow-tie and a guitar in his hands. Doing the same as Rikuro, she skimmed through the pages a bit. In doing so, Mitico found two other images of the Bonnie animatronic. The first was more cartoonish with a baby blue color with rosy cheeks and green eyes. The title given to this animatronic was 'Toy Bonnie'. The second had a shaping that appeared to be a combination of the previous two Bonnie's; though having the baby blue coloring and rosy cheeks as the Toy variant. The most discernible difference that this Bonnie variant had was in how it was smaller and size and designed as a hand puppet with pink eyes. This Bonnie variant was named 'Bon Bon'.
Annerose then decided to open up one of the files in her hands. Opting to go with the file on the top of the stack, she opened to reveal the file's title: 'Circus Baby'. Below the title, she was the imagine of an animatronic with an advanced appearance, having the shape of a robotic child dressed up like a clown with white panels, red pigtails, a red dress, jester shoes, green eyes, a small red nose, a fan on her stomach surrounded by an orange rimming, and a microphone in her left hand to finish the image.
"This will conclude our meeting. You all will now be escorted to your rooms to read up on everything in the files." Henry said as Annerose looked over the open file. "Tomorrow, I would like for the three of you to head down to the restaurant to meet whoever was accepted as the manager for the establishment. You will be working alongside them throughout the week."
Villetta then walked over to Annerose and her group, giving a small respectful bow of her head to them. "If you will follow me."
Annerose looked up from her file at Villetta before nodding to her in return.
Villetta then began to lead the way out of the office with Annerose getting up and following her, Mitico right behind her.
Rikuro, however, had became invested in the file that he had opened up and had failed to notice the three women leaving.
"Get over here, you stupid human!" Mitico called back to Rikuro.
This immediately got Rikuro's attention, now noticing that it was just him and Henry in the room. Rikuro gave a nervous chuckle before closing the file in his hand as he began to leave the office.
"If you wouldn't mind to close the door on your way out." Henry said to Rikuro, whom did just that as he left, leaving the Fazbear entertainment founder to his own devices.
Mitico sent Rikuro an annoyed look as he ran to catch up with Villetta, Annerose, and herself. She gave a quiet scoff before swiftly turning her face away from Rikuro as she followed behind Annerose.
"Each of you will have separate rooms for the entirety of your stay." Villetta explained to the trio as she lead them down the east corridor. "Though Mr. Emily says that you all can choose whichever bedroom pleases you the most."
Upon reaching their destination, Annerose and her group were met with six room, three on each side of the corridor.
"My room is the closest on the left, and Mr. Fong's is the last on the right." Villetta explained. "The last room on the left is completely empty."
"How come?" Rikuro opted to ask.
"Mr. Emily is one man in this entire mansion." Villetta explained. "He's been out here, all alone, for so long. He only just recently filled up these rooms to accommodate the three of you, Mr. Fong, and myself. Most other rooms are either empty or are used as workspaces."
"I can't imagine what it would be like to live in a place like this all by yourself." Rikuro commented in return, glancing around the corridor. "It's kind of depressing. I mean, what does Mr. Emily even do most of the time?"
"Well, from what I have seen during my time working for him, he spends most of his nights tinkering away in his workshops. Always testing things whenever he can." Villetta said, looking back down the corridor as she grew a frown on her face. "Honestly, I worry for that man's health at times."
However, Villetta soon shook her head as she looked back to the rooms. "Anyways, each accommodated room has a queen sized bed with silk sheets, dressers, and work desks. It isn't anything too fancy, but it does provide a sufficient amount of comfort."
"Very well." Annerose said, holstering the files in her hands under her right arm as she walked to the door closest on the right side of the corridor. "I suppose I will take this room then."
"Good." Villetta replied with a nod. "I'll leave you all to figure out the rest. Dinner will be at five, so make you sure to wash up before then. If any of you need anything, come to me and I will see what I can do."
"Of course." Annerose said in return as Villetta made her departure.
Annerose then turned to look at her two servants. "I'll be in my room looking over the files. Try not to cause too much of a ruckus in deciding which of the remaining rooms you two will have. Once you both are done with your files, I'll hand over the ones I have read and read yours. Study up on them with absolute focus."
""Yes, Lady Annerose."" Both Mitico and Rikuro replied to her, the former giving Annerose a small bow while the latter simply nodded his head.
Annerose nodded to them in return before entering into her chosen room.
Watching as Annerose closed the door behind herself, Rikuro thought he should take this chance and choose the room right next to hers. Quick and simple. However, just as he started to walk towards said room, Mitico promptly shoved him off his path with her shoulder, causing him to fall to the floor with a surprised yelp while dropping the file in his hand as the papers within it spilled out.
"Hey!" Rikuro angrily exclaimed to Mitico.
"Too slow." Mitico taunted as she childishly stuck her tongue towards him before opening the door to the middle room on the right. "If anyone is going sleep in the room next to Lady Annerose it's going to be me. Not some annoying, perverted human."
Rikuro cast Mitico a small scowl as he watched her enter the room, closing the door behind her.
"God, she is such a bitch." Rikuro muttered, shaking his head as he began to collect the sprawled out papers, trying to shuffle them back into the folder file. "It's gonna take me some time to figure out which order these were all in. Dammit, Mitico."
Once he had gotten the papers back into the folder, Rikuro got up from the floor and turned to the middle door on the left.
"I guess I'll be taking the room beside Miss Villetta." Rikuro quietly said as he walked to the door. "Though I guess there's a plus to that. She is a very beautiful woman."
Upon entering the room, Rikuro set the founder down onto the bed, opening up and spreading out the papers.
He held a finger to his chin as he rose he brow, looking over the papers. "Now to get these back in order."
Meanwhile, Annerose sat at the work desk within her room, her eyes focused upon the open file in her hands. The rest of the field were set off to the side for the time being as she currently set her attention onto the file of Circus Baby.
Annerose carefully analyzed the words on the pages with intrigue, taking in every detail and piece of information as she read inside her mind.
"Circus Baby was the main attraction for Fazbear's sister location: Circus Baby's Pizza World. She was apart of a small series of animatronics referred to as Funtime animatronics that were created by William Afton."
"Like all Funtime animatronics, Circus Baby has an endoskeleton covered with tube-like wires; akin to that of muscle tissue beneath skin. Another attribute of the Funtime animatronics is how their animatronic casing is comprised of segmented plates which can move freely or in unison. But just like other types of animatronics, each Funtime animatronic was built with a different purpose."
"Circus Baby was designed with several functions. Her fingertips were built with air hose attachments to inflate balloons. Her second feature was the ability to dispense ice cream from within her fan-like navel. Her third feature was a built in song databank where she would be able play a song of anyone's choice. Finally, she was included with an emergency stop switch located on her shins which would shut off Circus Baby for various inspections or repairs."
"However, once Circus Baby's Pizza World was shut down, it was revealed that each Funtime animatronic was implemented with a secret function, purposely designed by Afton to fulfill his twisted desires. For Circus Baby, a retractable metal claw was designed to spring out of her chest. Afton had built into her a program that would only activate when Circus Baby was alone with one other person, and said person was in a very close proximity to her. Once her programming was activated, her metal claw would spring forth and clutch around a person's body with another force to kill them. Given Afton's M.O. this feature was most certainly designed to kill children whenever they were alone with the Circus Baby animatronic."
"While it is unknown just how many children Circus Baby had killed, given Afton's discretion in hiding the bodies of his victims, one notable victim to the animatronic's trap was none other than Elizabeth Afton. William's own daughter. His youngest child. A cruel twist of fate that Afton's own devices of murder would take the life of one of his own children. Especially since Afton had built Circus Baby to be Elizabeth's personal animatronic."
"As for the fate of Circus Baby, per the closing of the sister location, she was dismantled and locked away in an evidence storage facility. However, when authorities came to take the animatronics, they had found that their endoskeletons and inner wiring were missing from their animatronic shells. Not only that, but the shell pieces of each Funtime animatronic were located in the pizzeria's scooping room, a room built to automatically dismember an animatronic's costume and remove its endoskeleton for repair."
"It is unknown as to what happened to the endoskeletons of the Funtime animatronics, but police had recovered data logs of the last night guard to work in the facility before its closure. While the night guard's name was not discovered, it was found that the HandUnit had malfunctioned in its autocorrection functionality and had given the night guard the name of "Eggs Benedict". While there is no proper substantial evidence, police suspected that this Eggs Benedict night guard is related to the missing endoskeletons. Though it should also be noted that blood and human intestinal organs were found within the scooping room. Though seeing as how DNA profiling would not be used in forensic science until three years later at the time, police could not determine just who the blood and organs belonged to; only that speculation led them to believe the entrails belonged to whoever Eggs Benedict really was."
As Annerose had continued reading through the file on Circus Baby, she had furrowed her eyebrows while putting a hand to her chin. While she was intrigued by the information in the file, she was inwardly appalled by the whole situation. She had seen many a death in her life, half of which she herself had caused, but the Steel Witch had her morals. How this William Afton used child friendly objects to brutally murder innocent children was far more sickening and twisted compared the crimes of those she had faced in the past.
However, when she had gotten to the part about the scooping room, Annerose's mind began to race with many questions. What had happened to the Funtime animatronics' endoskeletons and wiring? Why was there blood and intestinal organs in this scooping room? Who was this "Eggs Benedict" character? As those questions rang in Annerose's mind, she came upon a personal note left by Henry Emily.
"Now, many investigators have had their theories over the years as to what occurred during this secretive events at Circus Baby's Pizza World, along with every other Fazbear entertainment restaurant. But what they have not theorized, or rather what they had shrugged off, was that there is a more spiritual and supernatural element to these events."
"Supernatural?" Annerose questioned in her mind as she read further.
"It is now my belief that there are souls trapped within the animatronic suits. Souls that once belonged to the victims of Afton's slaughter. While I cannot yet determine as to who these souls once were in life, I am certain of their fate. There are more to these events than a twisted monster and his instruments of pain and suffering."
It was there that the file ended. No further words written on the papers.
As Annerose closed the file folder, she furrowed her eyes once more, bearing a thoughtful expression towards the note Henry Emily left behind on the folder. She glanced over to the file stack off to the side, curiosity waxing as to what else she would discover from them.
One by one, Annerose read through the rest of the files, learning more than she already had known about the mystery of Fazbear entertainment. Events. Locations. Other animatronics. She studiously observed all that the files had to offer.
There were moments when Rikuro and Mitico would enter into Annerose's room to trade the files they had read for another, though Annerose didn't pay them much mind. She was too drawn the information in the files to take much notice of them. She would merely finish up with one file and then go to another that either of her servants had read on their own.
As of the current moment, Annerose was down to two last files. One was left off to the side titled 'Puppet/Marionette'. The second of the final two Annerose held in her hand. It was titled 'Spring Bonnie/Springtrap'.
Though just as she was about to open the file, Mitico entered into the room.
"Lady Annerose. Miss Actaeon has finished preparing dinner." Mitico told her. "She and the idiot human are setting the table in Mr. Emily's dining room as we speak."
Annerose responded by glancing back at Mitico before giving a small nod. "Very well."
Annerose set the file down into the work desk before getting up and following Mitico.
On their way to the dining room, Annerose and Mitico walked down a hallway that had four, large glass cases built into them. In each case was an animatronic. Animatronics that Annerose and Mitico recognized from the files. Foxy, Bonnie, Chica, and Freddy Fazbear himself. The animatronics themselves were based around their 90's designs. All of them were posed in specific positions, as if they getting ready to sing a song.
As Annerose and Mitico passed by them, the latter frowned as she looked up the animatronics. "I can never understand as to how human children found these machines to be joyful and entertaining. They look eerie."
"If you think those are disturbing, you should have seen the designs I originally used for them when I started Fredbear's family diner." The voice of Henry spoke up from behind the two women. "Now those were some design choices I wondered why I ever used."
Annerose and Mitico turned to see Henry walked up towards them, most likely on his way to the dining room as well.
"Mr. Emily." Annerose nodded to the elderly man.
"Annerose. Mitico." Emily nodded in return to the two women. "Have the information in those files proved useful to you?"
"They have most certainly deepened my knowledge of this situation." Annerose replied with a small and determined smile. "Though as to how effective it will all be can only be determined through field work."
"I'm certain you'll have your chance, come Monday." Emily said to her. "Now, how about we get to the dinner table? Villetta said there would be fried steak and a mystery Cajun cuisine of her choice."
"Hm. I've never had a Cajun delicacy before." Annerose as she and Mitico walked with Henry. "I hope the spice isn't too extreme."
Soon enough, the three of them came upon the dining room entrance. Walking through the open doors, they came upon the sight Rikuro helping Villetta set the table with food.
Quick to notice the arrival of Annerose, Mitico, and Henry, Villetta turned to smile at them. "Ah. Come on right in. Everything's almost set."
"Thank you, Villetta." Henry nodded with a sincere tone as he walked to north end of the table, pulling his seat while setting his cane to the side. "I'm sure you've made another wonderful meal for diner."
Annerose and Mitico were next to take their seats at the dining table, with the former sitting on the south end while Mitico sat closely to her left.
As she sat down, Annerose took in the overall size of the table, noting that it was at a medium size and cable of sitting at least eight people. Though judging from how cleanly and polished the legs of the table were, it suggested the furniture was recently acquired. The same could be said with the chairs.
"Henry most likely purchased the table and chairs for our arrival." Annerose thought to herself. "A man that was once secluded from the world wouldn't have need for a family sized dining room piece."
The Steel Witch then moved her attention to the items upon the table. For starters, the table itself was covered in a red cloth with six plates, six drinking glasses, and six sets of silverware neatly placed where each chair was positioned. In terms of drink, there were two tall pitchers—one filled with iced water and the other filled with a liquid that was a dirty orange in color with tiny particle-like substances floating around in it. For the food, there was a large plate with at what seemed to be twelve country-fried steaks—just as Henry said Villetta would make. Other items on the table included a bowl of buttered rolls, a small plate of pumpernickel bread, and a bowl of gravy.
However, a spicy smell entered into the noses of everyone in the dining room. Annerose and Mitico looked over to see Rikuro holding open what they assumed was the kitchen door as Villetta carefully walked out holding a large, open crockpot that lots of steam rising from it.
"Thank you." Villetta flashed a smile to Rikuro as she walked over to the table.
"Oh, uh, sure." Rikuro replied before making his way to the table as well. "No problem."
Once Villetta got to the table, she set the crockpot down upon the center of it. Lightly raising his brow, Henry rose up a bit from his seat to get a good look at the contents within it.
"Now, what do we have here?" Henry asked Villetta.
"This is a crawfish boil." Villetta answered him with a small smile. "Made with my family's homemade cajun seasoning. I hope you all enjoy it."
Raising their eyebrows in interest as to what this crawfish boil was, Annerose and Mitico looked over to the contents of the crockpot. Within it was a combination of various foods including chopped up corn, sliced sausages, shredded pieces of onion, small potatoes, sliced lemons, and its key ingredient: a plentiful amount of small, red crawfish—everything seasoned with Villetta's cajun spices.
"Well this should be an interesting dinner." Annerose remarked. "I can't say I have ever had Cajun-based food before."
"Oh, you haven't lived until you've had the southern delights of Louisiana." Villetta said to Annerose, a pair a tongs now in her hand. "Here, let me make you a plate."
"I would say you've worked hard enough on this feast before us." Annerose waved Villetta off before motioning to Rikuro. "Rikuro here can help with passing around the food."
Rikuro was just about to sit down to the left of Annerose before she had motioned to him. He glanced at his master as she handed him her plate. This prompted for Rikuro to take Annerose's plate from her hand in response.
"Yes, ma'am." Rikuro gave a small bow to Annerose.
"I'll try some of that crawfish boil, along with one of everything else." Annerose told Rikuro as he walked down the table to grab the necessary food items.
Villetta raised her brow a bit at the interaction between Annerose and Rikuro before shrugging it off. "Well, okay then."
While Rikuro prepared Annerose's plate, Villetta got to work on making Henry's plate.
Just as Rikuro was halfway through in platting up Annerose's food, the Steel Witch opted to speak again.
"By the way, what is that brownish-orange liquid in the second pitcher?" Annerose inquired while pointing to said pitcher.
"Apple cider." Villetta answered her as she handed Henry his plate.
"Hmm... I see. You wouldn't happen to have any wine, would you?" Annerose then asked.
"Apologies, but I swore off alcohol a long time ago." Henry answered Annerose this time. "It's not exactly the healthiest of coping remedies... though if that is the beverage type you prefer for you dinner meals, I'm sure Evan can help you out in that department."
"I can survive a few days without it." Annerose said in return as Rikuro handed her back a full plate of food. Annerose then handed him her glass while motioning over to the pitcher of apple cider, in which Rikuro obliged.
"Speaking of him, has Mr. Fong called you about an update on how things are going for the manager applications?" Villetta asked Henry as she pointed him a glass of iced water.
"No." Henry simply replied as he began to cut into his fried steak. "Though seeing as how he didn't end up coming right back here after thirty minutes, I assume he's still busy down at the restaurant."
However, it was only a moment after Henry had given his reply that Evan's voice had rang out through the halls of the mansion as loud as he could bellow.
"I'm back!" He proclaimed in a regular manner.
"Speak of the Goetia and he'll come forth." Mitico thought to herself upon hearing Evan's voice. She was currently making her own plate of food.
"Well something smells good." Evan called out as he made his way over to the dining room.
Once he had gotten to the dining room, Evan took a good look as to the food that was set on the table.
"Fried steak and crawfish?" Evan asked as walked up to take a seat on the left of Henry. "That's an awkward food combination. It's about as awkward as cheeseburgers and lobster."
"Are you saying you're not going to eat?" Villetta raised her brow at Evan.
"Don't put words in my mouth—I didn't say that." Evan said as he started to make his plate. "Free food is free food. No matter how weird the items on the menu are."
"Okay then..." Villetta replied as she and Rikuro finished making their own plates before sitting down.
"So, what's the news on the applications?" Henry asked Evan. "Did you find anyone that fit the bill?"
Evan raised in finger at Henry as he slurped out the meat from a crawfish. Once finished, he lowered his finger to speak. "Mm. Well to start off, there was only, like, six guys there. So it was a pretty limited range in options."
"Odd." Villetta said with mild confusion as she cut through her fried steak. "I would have assumed there would be more people applying for the job application. Especially the manager position."
"The low turnout could because of a bunch of things. Poor traffic. No interest or experience in the field. Simple human laziness." Evan listed before taking a sip of his apple cider. "Or it could be that not a lot of people want to weigh the risk of being brutally killed by an animatronic in the middle of the night. You know? There are a lot of possibilities, to be quite honest. We can't be sure what the direct cause was."
"I must say, you're good at blatant sarcasm." Annerose dryly commented to the demon in disguise.
"Thank you." Evan cheerfully smiled at her in return.
"Disregarding that part of the topic, I have to ask my question again." Henry said to Evan. "Did you find a proper manager."
Evan took a bite out of a buttered roll before answering Henry. "I actually found two guys that seemed the best for the job, so I hired them both to be dual managers."
"Two managers?" Henry asked. "Well, what are their names?"
"First guy is named Mark Fischbach. A really cool and fun guy." Evan said. "The second one is Mike Schmidt."
Instantly, Annerose's eyes flickered in recognition of the second name as she looked over to Evan. "Mike Schmidt? That was his name?"
"Yeah. But he didn't sound German." Evan replied with a small, thoughtful look.
Annerose placed her hand to her chin in thought, furrowing her eyes. It was something that everyone at the table caught onto, save Evan as he wasn't paying attention to Annerose.
"It looks like you've caught onto something Miss Annerose." Henry pointed out.
"In the files you gave us, there was a name that popped up when I read about the Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria that opened up in 1993. A night guard. Mike Schmidt." Annerose explained. "The file said he worked the night shift at the restaurant for one week before he was fired for tampering with the animatronic suits and general unprofessionalism. He was also the last person to head from a manager at the restaurant who was killed by an animatronic during a pre-recorded message sent to this Mike Schmidt. Other people at the establishment nicknamed the manager as "Phone Guy"."
"Are you assuming this Mike Schmidt is the same Mike Schmidt from the 93 establishment?" Henry inquired.
"That doesn't seem possible. The guy I met looked he was around his late twenties at best." Evan stated as he cut off a slice of his fried steak. "The Mike Schmidt from the other pizza joint would have to be in his fifties or sixties by now."
"Maybe..." Annerose said, though her eyes told that she was still being thoughtful towards the subject. "I will have to get a good look at him tomorrow."
"Suit yourself." Evan replied with a shrug before taking a bite out of the fried steak slice.
Henry drank from his glass of water for a moment before directing his attention back over to Annerose's side of the table. "By the way Miss Annerose, would either of your... servants be interested working alongside the recently acquired managers?"
Annerose raised her brow at Henry just as she was about to try some of the crawfish boil. "In what capacity?"
"As extra night guards." Henry explained. "To help with the daily duties of the managers and to better help sell the appearance of the restaurant."
Annerose glanced at Mitico and Rikuro, who both looked at her in return. "While Mitico wouldn't fit that role all too well, I'm more than sure Rikuro can do well in that particular environment."
Annerose then finally tried some of the crawfish, slurping out its meat before widening her eyes at the taste of it. Upon swallowing the food, the Steel Witch immediately grabbed another crawfish while trying it with sausage and lemon juice.
Rikuro looked to Annerose with dilated pupils, his expression was one of concern. "You mean... I have to work with the killer animatronics?"
Mitico gave a small, wicked smirk towards the current predicament Rikuro found himself in. "Now I'm almost tempted to accept that night guard position along with the stupid human, just so I can see him torn to shreds by those animatronics."
"Don't worry. Any animatronics the managers use are far less likely to try and attack you at night, such as the animatronics from the past." Henry waved off Rikuro's concerns. Though he soon dawned a more serious expression. "The only potential issues you will truly have are the "guests" I informed you all of earlier. But if Annerose is good at what she does, then there should be less liability of risk."
"Mm." Rikuro replied with as he nervously took a sip of apple cider.
"However, you shouldn't worry about any of that for now. The restaurant will open up on Monday." Henry said as he took a slice of pumpernickel into his hand. "You'll have enough time to prepare for the nights ahead."

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ —————————————————————
All was quiet under the night sky. There were small instances of crickets chirping as a few people still moseyed about on the street sidewalks. There were far less cars driving upon the road, only late night workers and revenge bedtime procrastinators.
Within a dark and dirty alley, the faint sound of machinery could be heard scraping across the pavement. It was ratcheted and clanging as the sound of machinery slowly moved in the dark.
From what light could be shown through in the alley, the outlining of a humanoid figure could be seen. But it was far from human. It's feet were large. It was missing half of its left arm, with the right arm having a clawed hand. It's head was shaped like that of a rabbit, but it was missing it's right ear.
A low and raspy breath came from the jaws of this creature as it looked out from its alley. Soon though, it's eyes glowed with a haunting and eerie purple hue as the creature let out but only two words in a terrible and computerized voice.
"I'm... Back!"

Author's notes:
So, he we are with the new chapter.
Originally, I was going to focus this chapter around more on the night guards—which have now been mentioned for this story—but I decided to take it slow and work more character building; have our current cast of characters talk with each other more.
Of course, the next chapter will definitely be centered around meeting the night guards.
And we now have our second animatronic introduction—excluding the file on Circus Baby. If you guys recognize the description of the animatronic at the end, then you all know full well who it is.
But anyways, that all I've got to say for now. I will see you all next time. Peace. And have a merry December.
