Prologue: Why

Five Nights At Team Crafted's

Prologue :

Why

-...-

It's hard to say when this truly all began. Was it when the park opened in 1987? Was it when the first of the eight mascots was introduced 10 years later in 1997? Could it be when Tyler C. was born? Or maybe when he first walked into the park, not as a little boy seeking fun, but at a young adult desperate for money. Though the true story may have started long before, this telling of it starts just then. However, a bit of back story would come in handy.

The year is 2014. Tyler C. is an 18 year old boy whom just finished high school. He has a loving family, a car, great friends, as well a cute girlfriend. But he has no income, and it seems that he can't rely on his parents and grandparents forever. Now, you'd think he'd find a job at a fast food place or maybe at retail, but the pay he'd be offered isn't enough. Why, you ask?

Tyler was in his own sort of debt. He owed his closest friend, Kyle, money. He owed money to his mother and father. Hell, once he ever got to college, he'd owe them too. Spending money was a thought as well! Now, of course Kyle and Tyler's parents would forget he ever owed anything, but Tyler was a man of his word. He was stubborn. He was gonna pay them all back if it was the last thing he did.

And honestly, now, the possibility of it actually being the last he did has sky rocketed.

It was his mother whom pointed out the job offering to Tyler. She knew he was looking around for something. She handed him the small boxed off article one morning, telling him it was the best offer yet. There was an opening at a theme park just five miles away. And not just any theme park. It was one Tyler used to go to as a kid. In fact, his whole family took trips there, and even Kyle and his girlfriend Shelby have been a few times.

It was the theme park for Team Crafted, called Team Crafted.

Team Crafted was a small animated TV show that aired when Tyler was just a toddler, being canceled three years later and then taken and turned into a comic book series. Team Crafted was never very famous, though it was popular at some point. It had to be to get a theme park.

The thing though, with the theme park, was that the theme park was originally built in 1987 to be a huge advertisement for some other popular TV channel's show. It was great at the start, built big enough for nine different rides. That was all it needed anyway. But then, as years went by, money was lost and it was all abandoned.

Then the people behind Team Crafted, the popular kids show and comic series found the place, turning to offer those who abandoned it a deal! Hardly paying anything at all, they bought the rights to the theme park and re did it all. Eight of the nine rides were remodeled and repainted to be themed after each main character of Team Crafted.

HuskyMudKipz had an Underwater themed pool area where kids would play in the water or ride on inflatable boats.

Ssundee had a party themed room where all the face painting and arts and crafts were held.

TrueMinecraftUniverse had an outer space themed roller coaster with two seprate parts. One small ride for tiny children and one big rise or anybody over 10 years of age.

JeromeASF had a forest themed playground where kids of all ages could climb and run around without the fear of getting hurt at all.

Bajancanadian had a building filled with games where kids could go against each other and win prizes. Tournaments where often held for the older crowd.

SetoSorcerer had a ride that took you through tunnels, telling you a story with animations projected on the walls and effects such as mist and air being blown at you from the ceiling.

DeadloxMC had a fun house. A house with a glass mirror maze, rotating tunnels, lights flashing everywhere. A ride for those older then 12 or those with adult supervision.

SkyDoesMinecraft had a museum of TeamCrafted's history and achievements, as well as the park's cafeteria. The gift shop was also connected here.

Sky, Deadlox, Seto, Benja, Jerome, Ssundee, Jason, and Husky were the eight main characters of TeamCrafted. They were also the main reason people loved the parks. They all where animatronics that spoke and cracked jokes and talked to the children, all located in their respected areas of the park. Each had a different personality with different talents. They were all well developed characters. Their robotic skeletons, however, could have been crafted by better hands.

Anyway, as years went by, the park never went down, yet popularity declined with time. Now it only makes enough to keep up the bills. Spending money is hard to come by. Employees come and go and management became far less then great.

Probably why that opening was up for the grabs.

Tyler read the ad more then once. The position was open to anyone 18 years or older, and it didn't matter if they had any experience at all. Which struck Tyler as being odd, since the job was for a security guard whose hours were 12 AM to 6 AM. The hours would mean Tyler would need to sleep as much as he could during the day, but it would all be worth it for the pay that was offered. $100 a night. For such pay, how could anyone pass up the job? This was a once in a lifetime chance!

And so, with not a second to lose, Tyler set up his interview. He went, met the boss, and was accepted without wait. He was to start the following Monday night. He'd work Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thursday night, and Friday night. He'd get the weekends off.

He was given a security guard outfit, as well as a few simple supplies. A Flashlight, a few batteries, note pad and pens, an ID, a few keys, and a stun gun with different settings. Tyler placed these all in a messenger bag for easy carrying. He was asked to take with him a few water bottles and maybe a bag of chips, but that was it. He'd have his phone, of course, but the office he was going to work in already had on, his boss said.

The weekend before flew by unlike anything ever before. Soon, it became time. Monday, Tyler slept in  a lot. He got up a few hours before 12 AM, gathered his things, said goodbye to his parents, and was off. He grew nervous the closer he got to the theme park, but the good lucks his friends had given him helped a bit. He pulled into the empty parking lot, the only other car at the farthest corner from the front entrance. He parked, got out, and was immediately confronted by his boss.

"Aha!" His boss smiled. "You're five minutes early!"

Tyler closed the car door and shifted the bag he had across his chest. The boss noted that Tyler had on his light blue uniform, as well as his supplies, and the hat too. The boss handed Tyler a key, larger then the rest.

"This is the key to the front gates. I locked them as i walked out, but i planned to wait to give them to you." He said. "Anyway, I hope you remember where your office is. Inside SkyHub, down the hallway from the gift shop."

Tyler nodded his head. "Yeah, yeah. I got it. I-is there anything else i need to know?"

The boss thought. "Hmm not really. There is a recording on the phone in the office for you, but that's it."

Tyler stood straight and looked up at his new boss. "Thank you, Mr. Aviator."

The boss laughed. "Just call me Aviator!"

Tyler nodded his head and began to walk off, towards the theme park entrance.

"Oh! And Tyler!" Aviator called from behind.

Tyler stopped and turned around. "Yes, sir?!"

"Don't forget about power management! We talked about this in the interview!"

Tyler held up his thumb. "I got it!"

"Good luck! I'll be back in the morning!"

And with that, Mr. Aviator was gone, and Tyler walked up to the front gates of his new job.

"Well." Tyler gulped. The darkness of the place bothered him. Part of him wanted to turn back down. Why wasn't there another worker with him? Tyler shook his head.

"So it goes."

And Tyler unlocked the front gate, stepping inside before re-locking the gate.

The first night has begun.
