Chapter 10: Daybreak, Day 5-Know That Joke That Says 'Two Halves Make a Hole'?
Scott Cawthon: "Haha, no need to say it so surprised."
The animatronics had clearly no idea who this Scott Cawthon guy is, and for all they knew, he had something to do with creating a game. They wondered if they were talking about an actual game or their current situation.
Sinakumi: "You...why...?"
Tears poured down Sinakumi's face, seemingly easy to make cry. Sailor, built more determined, stood up again and her howls rage all over the game.
Sailor: "WELL, HECK, YEAH, WE'RE GONNA GET OUT OF THIS GAME, CAWTHON!!! AND GUESS WHAT?!?! YOU AIN'T GONNA STOP US!!!"
Scott Cawthon: "...Oh?"
Aurum: "D-don't you dare! Guys! Listen to me!"
Sailor: "No, Aurum, stay outta this!"
Bonnie: "Urgh...he means us, you pinhead..."
Sinakumi: "...Huh...?"
Aurum: "...Freddy? Guys...?"
Scott Cawthon: "Well, look here, we have ourselves a family reunion on our hands, don't we, Vincent?"
Sailor: "...Vincent..."
Vincent: ".....mm."
Scott Cawthon: "Quiet as normal, but that will do."
Sinakumi: "Family reunion? Aurum...?"
Scott Cawthon: "Oh, you didn't know? The man whom you named 'Aurum' is actually Golden-"
Sailor: "NO!!! Not anymore! He's...not yours anymore to control! He's Aurum! You hear me?!"
Sinakumi turns back to Sinakumi, whose face had paled whiter than the moon. She knows... Sailor thought miserably. She wasn't able to keep her from knowing.
Sailor: "Sina, look, he's-"
Sinakumi: "I know...it's just...that can't..."
Chica: "You heard her, he isn't not anymore."
Freddy: "He's...free."
Foxy: "And soon will we."
Scott Cawthon: "Ah, this had became very stuffy, hasn't it."
Aurum: "Sinakumi...? Are you...?"
Sinakumi: "I'm fine! I'm fine...just...wow, Aurum..."
Aurum: "I'm sorry I didn't tell you. Honestly, I am..."
Bonnie: "Dude, didn't you hear that other guy say that it had became very stuffy in here? Why don't you NOT add fuel to the fire."
Aurum: "Haha, sorry. Ack! That's not what I did this for! Guys! Get the girls out of here and you guys before 6 A.M.!"
Foxy: "How?! We just crashed into thin air when we tried to get through the open doorway!"
Scott Cawthon: "Yes...Aurum...how?"
...Crashed into thin air...
Sinakumi: "...I...think I know what he's...!"
Sinakumi clamped her hand over her mouth and everyone started at her. She lowered her hand and pressed a finger to her lips. Then she tiptoes out of the left door and beckons them to follow her quietly.
Scott Cawthon: "Hm...it had gotten uncharacteristically quiet down there..."
Aurum: "That should be for you, Cawthon. Vincent, please come to the game!"
He knows! Yes, bring Vincent down here! No, wait...bring him to the hotel room! Sinakumi's mind screamed. Like their minds are in sync, Aurum had talked Vincent into coming down to where he was instead of the pizzeria. Scott was thoroughly confused, and listened to the situation carefully, but couldn't hear much of anything. The animatronics were careful not to even speak telepathically. Pretty soon they were at the entrance...Sailor slowly pulled one of the doors open. One-by-one, the animatronics filed out of the pizzeria, doing everything they can from running and screaming with joy of their freedom. They silently couldn't thank the girls enough. Just when Sailor steps out of the pizzeria, and Sinakumi takes a step out of the door...
Sinakumi: "....hah...."
Sinakumi had been holding her breath...the exhale was a bit too loud for her liking.
*SLAM*
The door to the pizzeria flies shut with a deafening slam, knocking Sinakumi to the ground. She scrambles to her feet and presses her hands to the glass. Sailor was doing the same, except she was more like pounding.
Sinakumi: "What?! Hey, open up! Sailor?! I can't hear you!"
Did he just soundproofed the pizzeria?! Sinakumi stepped back and looked around wildly. The pizzeria was empty...with no one but her. Since in original games, it had only showed inside the pizzeria, the outside, Scott didn't have very much to control. And that's where Vincent came in. But since Sinakumi was trapped within the pizzeria, though not originally made in the game...
Sailor: "NO!!! Sinakumi!!!"
Foxy: "Come on! We have to go!"
Sinakumi saw what Foxy was trying to do, the pleading look on his face was saying that they shouldn't be here any longer than they have to. Sinakumi started motioning with her hands for them to get out of the area fast.
Foxy: "Please, Sailor!"
She stopped at the mention of hearing some other guy saying her name...and so earnestly.
Foxy: "Let's get back to...Aurum, right? We have to make sure...well, now we gotta know...in our hearts...for now...that you are safe."
Sailor: "Me...?! JUST ME?! Sinakumi! She-!"
Foxy: "Don't worry. If...Aurum can use the audio system there...he can at least do something. And maybe we can if we can get there."
Sailor: "We...? What the heck can we do...?"
Foxy, with his left hand, cupped Sailor's cheek, having her look him in the eye. His expression was pained almost as much as hers, and he was desperate to get them all out of here.
Foxy: "Yes, we. Me, you, Aurum, Freddy, Chica, and Bonnie. And right now, we need to get you to safety. Sinakumi wouldn't want you to get hurt."
Sailor glanced at Sinakumi who was watching the scene unfold. She found it touching, and could've almost cried. She pressed one of her hands to the glass, a soft and sad smiling expression slowly appeared onto her face. Sailor, in all of her time knowing Sinakumi, had never seen her make that expression before. She knew Sinakumi was serious.
Sailor: "F-fine...I'll go with you guys...we better save her."
With that, she takes Foxy's only waiting hand and she, Foxy and the rest dash off, with Sailor leading, to the hotel room where Aurum and Vincent were waiting.
*****
Scott Cawthon: "They left you, I see."
Sinakumi: "I told them to."
Sinakumi muttered in a low voice. She was on this alone, no one, not even her best friend Sailor Pisces, was there to help or save her at the moment. She was praying that she and the animatronics would get there okay. At this point, she didn't care what would happen to her. Right now...she needed to put herself in the mindset of Sailor. She was smart and thought outside the box. Sinakumi tried her best to copy.
Scott Cawthon: "Hm, I saw you...through the cameras. You dropped the tablet in the office, you know."
Sinakumi: "...You're stalling, you know that? Why would you need the tablet in the office?"
Scott Cawthon: "Ha, aren't you perspective. I compliment on your...'thinking outside the box' attempt...for your dear friend, Sailor Pisces, I suppose?"
How the Hades did he see that?! No...how did he hear that? Sinakumi thought madly. Wait... her mind clicked. He...can only hear me. He couldn't have seen me on the cameras. He would have to use the tablet in the office! Or Sailor's computer for the camera system...but that's outside the pizzeria. Sinakumi knew she needed one thing and that was to get out. She felt a bit guilty for making Sailor make that face.
Sinakumi: "...You know what? Why? Why, you of all people, you a famous indie game creator, doing THIS to some random duo of girls like US?"
Scott Cawthon: "Oh? Have you forgotten? You ARE that girl who sent me that...tactless threat letter?"
Sinakumi: "Threat letter-?"
Then it all came back to her so fast she almost screamed. That letter! Was he just triggered by a LETTER?! Her mind exploded. No...not him. There has to be another reason. Her mind raced. Her eyes zipped around frantically, looking for some way to leave. She spied out a crowbar through an open door, on the left wall, near the stage. Mind you, she was in the party room. She tiptoed toward the room and snuck herself inside. She could still hear Scott's voice mocking her letter. Her face blushed bright red when he started reading it off. But then her face turned pale when she saw where the crowbar was. She covered her mouth to keep from screaming.
There was animatronic parts around the room...and on a table where an endoskeleton laid, was the crowbar in the bony, metallic skeleton's hand. Sinakumi thought that this wasn't such a good idea anymore. But... She thought. I need to get back to Sailor and the others...I can't just...give up. With her newfound but small determination, she quickly pried the crowbar from the endoskeleton's hand, as quietly as she could, and made a very weird hop/skip/run to the front door. Once she got there...Scott's voice went silent...then.
Scott Cawthon: "Well...Ms. Author, why haven't you answered me? I have called many times and you haven't responded."
Tears welled up in Sinakumi's eyes. She felt so scared her whole body was shaking. Then...she lifted the heavy crowbar over her shoulder and took a swing at the glass...
*****
Sailor: "AURUM!!!"
Aurum: "Sailor! I'm so glad you're safe-! Wait...where's Sinakumi?"
Sailor: "That's what I wanna deal with. That audio system you tweaked with! Can't you do more-?! Wait...YOU!!! WHAT ARE YOU-?!"
She jabs a finger at guilty looking Vincent...who half-sideways stared at the ground.
Aurum: "N-no! We...look, now we COULD'VE gotten both of you out of here! But Sinakumi...where is she!?"
Sailor: "SCOTT TRAPPED HER INSIDE THAT MADHOUSE!"
Sailor flails her arms around crazily, keeping herself from strangling Aurum, Vincent, SOMEONE. Then...someone hugs her from behind...trying to calm her down. Everyone stares...
Foxy: "It'll be alright. Just...screaming and thrashing won't do anything. We'll save her. Don't worry so much..."
Sailor: "I...!!!...*hic*"
Sailor starts crying and Foxy starts to panic.
Foxy: "U-uh...did I...?"
Sailor: "N-no...it's just..."
She looks up, tears in her eyes, and meets Foxy's one-eyed gaze. He was tearing up too.
Sailor: "Thanks...Foxy."
They arrive in Sailor's room with Vincent (pushing the wheelchair) and Aurum leading. Sailor sat down at her desk and started up the laptop again. The camera system that she used earlier was up and ready. She flips through every camera possible and finally finds Sinakumi wandering down the left hallway, and back into the office like she was just going to go back into the shift like nothing happened.
Scott Cawthon: "Welcome back, Ms. Author, to your shift. Now you have noticed that there had been some...'bumps' in your schedule, but pay no mind to them. Your shift is nearly over, so please proceed."
Sinakumi: "Got it."
She picks up the tablet and stares on the camera pointed toward the stage. Sailor could see her do so, through the camera in the left hallway. She couldn't believe it. THEY couldn't believe it.
Bonnie: "She looks so...dead."
Sailor: "DON'T you say that. Don't you EVER-"
Foxy: "Sailor...! Calm down please, we just have to-"
Sailor: "Just have to what? What the heck is she doing?! Did she just break or something...?!"
The animatronics look at her in shock. Then it dawned onto Sailor that Sinakumi breaking was a high possibility, considering all they've been through. I can't believe it. Sailor thought in shock. Sinakumi was actually the first to break! Of all times, too! No...! You can't do that! You can't give up! Not yet! Tears threaten to blow up her eyes if she kept holding them back. Foxy realizes and hugs her by the shoulder. Freddy pats her head, feeling the same remorse.
Sailor: "No...that isn't like her. She has to have a plan."
Aurum: "...And so will we. We have until...what, 12:00 A.M.?"
Chica: "Or...I can't believe this is actually useful, that Scott guy drops you guys the 6th night?"
Vincent: "...Once Sinakumi is able to leave the pizzeria and get back here..."
Sailor: "We'll...be able to leave...?"
Everyone except Vincent started looking uncomfortable. She stared at him in confusion.
Vincent: "No, not really. We need one more thing."
Vincent pulls something, attached to a chain worn on his neck, out from being tucked in the vest of his uniform. It was that object that flickered in the sunrise when he came to visit Sailor earlier. It was a small bronze ring with a hole on the bottom. The hole's edges made it look like you could screw something thin and cylinder-like inside.
Sailor: "What's...what's that?"
Vincent: "One half of the key to get you both out of here. The game is nearly over."
His face shown stern, the others knowing how deep this was.
Bonnie: "Why did he entrust that to you?"
Vincent: "I hold the other half of his 'game'. Putting the two halves together opens a gateway out of here. I don't know how that place came to be and why it's in his game. But I guess let's put it to good use."
He took the necklace with the ring and slipped it over Sailor's head.
Vincent: "Chances are, Sinakumi had just figured it out, and is trying to get ahold of the other half. For now...we have to help her get it."
The others look to each other in determination.
Sinakumi does the same, a small post-victory smile creeping on her face, hidden by her nightguard hat. The rest share the same smile.
(all): "Right!"
