Damon wasn't the closest to Kendrix that's for sure, but they all were very close. He hear the horror in his and his friends voices when they saw Kendrix swing that sword. He remembered when on his birthday Kendrix went though so much trouble to get it perfect.

FlashBack: "Hey Kendrix" said Damon as he worked on the engines of Terra Venture. "Hey Damon, I need you to came and look at my sink in Maya and my quarters when can you come over"? said Kendrix. Damon thought for a second and said he could be there at six. Kendrix told him goodbye and walked off after waving at him. It was two o'clock and Damon was done with the engines and started to walk to Maya's and Kendix's quarters. When he got there he saw Leo and Kai at the door listening to the girls tell at each other, just then the door opened and a piece of cake came flying out and hit  Leo on the face. Maya races out the door saying something about shopping. Kendrix came out and yelled at the boys for eavesdropping and then told them that Maya ate the cake  she made for him. Damon thought for a moment and remembered it was his birthday. Damon was touched that Kendrix even remembered that it was his birthday , Kendrix was the most level headed person he knew and was also the most caring, but you would never want to be on her bad side that was a nightmare. Damon decided to give them more time to settle things out so he went back to work but he couldn't forget the person who cared about him enough to  remember his birthday, and bake a cake. At six o'clock he went to their quarters where they through him a birthday party. After opening everyone's presents Kendrix came up to him with a big package for him in it was a birthday card signed by everyone he knew and a toolbox with his name engraved on it and everything in it. Damon didn't know what to say he had never felt so loved in his life. He gave Kendrix a big hug and soon the whole team joined in it was the best day ever.

He heard Maya and Leo's anguished cries and started to tear up he saw the person he had come to care about in a short amount of time look up and say " I'm okay I'll always be here "

Damon wanted  to do something he wanted to fix everything. He wanted Kendrix, Kendrix would have known what to done. Kendrix had not only made and impact on him but their whole team.

Damon wanted five minutes. Five minutes to thank her for everything she did for him. Five minutes to joke around with her. Five more minutes to prank their teammates with her.
