(y/n) followed Lila down the large hallways filled with decorative paintings hung on the walls and vases of flowers sat in large ceramic pots against the walls as the floor was adorned in a dark blue rug that ran the length of the hallway.

(y/n) had asked Lila to explain to her everything. About Skonovia, about the people here, about Reginald Hargreeve, about Five Hargreeve. Granted, the maid was confused as to why she had to explain what and where Skonovia was to the unsuspecting girl.

"And in 1878, Reginald Hargreeve was crowned as Skonovia King-"

"-wait, I'm in the palace of royalty!?" (y/n) whisper yelled, freezing as Lila paused in her step.

"Yes-"

"and I'm in the 1800s!? How did I travel back in time almost over 200 years!?" Lila watches the strange girl panic.

"Lady (y/n), I must urge you to hurry. We cannot keep Sir Reginald waiting."

"Ok ok, let's go." (y/n) runs down the hallway as Lila tries to keep up.

"Lady (y/n), you must not run in the halls-"

"-and what have I said about calling me Lady (y/n)!" (y/n) yells over her shoulder while giggling at Lila's shocked face from the girls lack of etiquette. Both girls arrive at the door that brings them to the large study of Sir Reginald and (y/n) fiddles with the dress she was wearing from nervousness.

The dress was a wine red colour with black accents, layered enough to keep her warm from the snow-filled country disguised as a warm spring day. It was the most simple dress (y/n) could find compared to the others that looked like it could suffocate her.

She smoothed down her dress, brushing her hair back before knocking on the door. "You may enter." (y/n) instantly took the bow off that annoyed her and passed it to Lila before she walked in. "Ah, Lady (y/n)." the slightly terrified girl closed the door behind her and bowed, intimidated by the dark study of Sir Reginald as he sat at his desk writing.

"You wanted to see me sir." (y/n) stuttered lightly, eyes locked on the ground until she sensed someone staring at her. (y/n) looked up and saw that it was Five, smiling at her. The uneasiness immediately disappeared from his warm smile.

"Yes. I have a few questions I would like to ask of you if you agree to answer them truthfully."

"And what if I don't."

"Father don't-" Five was silenced as Reginald clicked his fingers, two guards walk into the study and were ready to take (y/n) away.

She gulped and raised her arms. "I'll tell you the truth and nothing but the truth!"

"Excellent. Who are you."

"(y/f/n)."

"What is of your class?"

"I'm just a working university student! A normal citizen!"

"University student?" Five questions.

"I'm studying in a school to get my bachelors."

"Where are you from?" Reginald continues.

"(h/c)."

"I have never heard of such a place." Reginald looks at (y/n) with narrow eyes. "Why were you out in the cold last night." (y/n) opened her mouth to answer but freezes.

"I... I don't know..." her brows furrow, only remembering the faint ticking of a clock before a portal had engulfed her. She relays the same information back to Reginald but the guards behind (y/n) scoff at the excuse. "I swear that's the truth! I was dropped here out of mid-air!"

"What are your intentions wench!?" One of the guards spits out, drawing their sword as the accusations of an assassin to hurt their king clouds their judgement.

"None! I just want to go home!" (y/n) gasps out, stumbling back at the guards advance on her.

"You will stand down. Now." Five hisses as he stands between (y/n) and the guards.

"Do as he says." Reginald commands and the guards step away. "If you speak the truth, then you have travelled to an alternate universe that is not your own, or as your home as you would say."

"Alternate universe? But, how? That's impossible!"

"Wait, so you're saying there's a multiverse? I thought that was just theoretical, I mean this completely changes how we understand the initial singularity-" (y/n) zones out and just stares at Five as he goes on and on about multiple universes.

"I just got a major sense of deja vu." the girl mumbles quietly and quickly shook her head as she looked back at Sir Reginald.

"As you can see, my son has been researching the evidence of multiple universes and here you are as living proof." (y/n) wasn't sure where this was heading but kept quiet. "I will allow you to stay here in the royal mansion as long as you help my son with his investigation." the girl turns to face the blushing boy who gave her a soft smile and her heart fluttered.

"Of course. I'll help as much as I can." Five's chest tightens at the bright smile he received from the mysterious girl, her head tilted in a cute manner as her hair fell over her shoulders.

"As this is settled, you both may leave and go on with your day." both children quickly bow and leave the study, quietly walking down the hallway together.

Five cleared his throat, wanting to start a conversation but it was almost as if the words were just stuck in his chest. "You-uh, look very pretty Lady (y/n)."

"How many times have I told you to just call me (y/n)." The girl chuckles and Five nods.

"My apologies Lad-I mean (y/n)." the girl's cheeks warmed at how her name flitted across the boy's tongue so elegantly. "If I may ask, you can call me by my name as you have allowed me to address you by yours."

"Really?" (y/n) asks as the boy nods and she smiles. "Why thank you Five." the boy's heart raced as his name fell from her pink lips.

"U-uh, let's have some breakfast first before I show you the grounds of the estate." Five quickly says, trying to calm his heart but in his head, he hoped that the girl agreed to spend time with him.

"I would love that! This whole place looks so freaking amazing!"

Weeks have quickly flown by, the winter getting warmer as Spring slowly arrived but not enough to stop the snow that floated to the ground every morning. (y/n) sat on a chair in Five's office, watching him flit around his office smoothly like he was dancing, mumbling about equations and facts.

Both 20-year-olds has been spending almost every waking minute together, discussing about their life and about themselves to each other. Almost staying up all night talking and snacking on stolen sweets from the large kitchen. Five would normally listen to (y/n) talk for hours about her hometown and her world and she would do the same as he described his country and its people.

(y/n) watched with amusement as he stumbled over his feet, multitasking with reading and writing. He glanced over at her and smiled before turning back to his writing. (y/n) turned to watch the snow that danced across the air through the shut balcony doors.

It had been a while since she was allowed to go outside. (y/n) was grateful that the Hargreev family was trying to keep her safe but she felt like a trapped bird. (y/n) stood up and slowly sneaked out of Five's study, gliding down the dark hallways like a silent ghost as the night blanketed over the country once more.

She reached the front doors of the mansion, carefully opening the doors and slipping past to greet the biting winds nipping at her skin. She finally felt freedom, taking in a deep breath and closing her eyes before glancing up and watching the snowflakes dance around her. She held out her hand, amazed by the intricate details and seeing a snowflake for the first time in person.

(y/n) was filled with childish giddiness, running down the steps as she held her dress up, spinning around in the snow as played amongst the snowflakes. She didn't notice the boy that stood by the doorway, watching with a soft look in his eyes as he watched her run around in amazement. Five felt bad for keeping the sweet girl inside and promised to take her around the village and show her the wonders that his country held.

And that's what he did.

The next morning, (y/n) had breakfast with the rest of the Hargreeve siblings and their partners. The siblings all treated her as if she was their own, coddling her and gifting her with so many surprises.

"(y/n)!" the girl turns around from her conversation with Alison as she saw Klaus and Viktor walk in with a big box in his hands. "We got you something!"

"Klaus, how many times have I told you not to-"

"-shush! I want to spoil my baby!" Klaus coos, rubbing his cheek against (y/n) and she just chuckles knowing there was no way out from not receiving the gift.

"Sissy made you this. I hope you like it." Viktor whispers gently as he passed his wife's gift to (y/n). She opened the box and gasped, seeing the elegant winter gown presented to her in fur and gold.

"Viktor, this... It's beautiful." (y/n) stood up, taking the dress out and holding it out against her body to see it in its full glory.

"You should wear it for your day out (y/n)." Luther smiles and the girl looks at him in confusion.

"I'm going outside?" the sibling's nod, smiling knowing their youngest brother had planned for a secret outing with (y/n).

"Let's go get you ready!" Klaus pulls (y/n) away from the table as everyone waves goodbye, leading her to her bedroom to dress her up before leading her outside as she was told to wait. She fiddled with gloves and the hat, snuggling up in the warm clothes until she heard someone clear their throat.

Five's breath was taken away at how beautiful (y/n) was, her eyes bright and smile beaming at him as she stood in the winter gown. "Five! Your siblings said I can go out today!" he chuckles at her excitement, nodding towards the open-roofed carriage that paused at the bottom of the steps.

"Yes. I wanted to show you my village. There is a festival and I thought maybe you would like to attend with me."

"I would love to! Let's go!" (y/n) grabbed Five's hand and pulled him to the carriage, quickly getting on before he could help her. He chuckled, knowing that (y/n) was independent and did not follow ladies etiquette but that was one of the many things he admired about her., including the way she was easily amazed by the scenery as the carriage droved down the pathway and over the bridge to the village.

(y/n) beamed peering over the bridge to see fish and carp swimming upstream or the little children giggling and running about across the street roads as people milled about the buildings and chatting. People would stop and stare at Five as he was one of the Hagreeve prince's, bowing or greeting him a good morning. The carriage stopped and Five quickly got down, helping (y/n) down as he gently held her hand.

"So what's first?" (y/n) asks in excitement, squeezing Five's hand and his heart sours as he leads her down to a sweet shop that was famous for its countries chocolates.

"I believe you told me you have a sweet tooth so I present you the best chocolate shop in all of Skonovia." Five chuckled at the soft squeal that escapes the girl's mouth, eyes wide with wonder at the different kinds of chocolates there were. Five pulls the girl in further, calling over one of the staff to bring a bag of assortments before leading her back outside to walk the streets together.

"Five, these are amazing!" the girl munches away on the chocolates as Five leads her through the day he had planned together. Five showed (y/n) the different stores and the small amusement parts there were here and there. Something in Five made him fall for the mysterious girl.

Maybe it was the way her lips turned up in a smile at the taste of the food.

Or the way her lashes fell against her cheeks as she closed her eyes and smelt the roses.

Or maybe it was the way she spun to the music playing as the street performers played around her.

Or how her hair flowed gently along with the breeze as the winds picked up, causing her to giggle and hold her hat.

Or maybe it was how ethereal and fairy tail like she was as she stood amidst the falling snowflakes, holding an ungloved hand out to catch them.

All the prince knew, was that he was falling in love and he hoped at the beautiful girl in front of him was feeling the same way as she blushed and smiled at him. Five took a step forward towards (y/n), holding her ungloved hand and warming it up with his, staring into her eyes as the music played around them sweetly.

(y/n)'s heart raced as she looked up at the prince who held the deep ocean in his eyes, kissing her hand and lingering his lips there before moving away. There was a skip in the girl's chest as Five held her cheek gently and stepping closer to her, brushing away the stray snowflakes that were caught against her soft skin. They both stood in the falling snowflakes like loving ceramic figures in a snowglobe, foreheads against each other as they just held each other.
