You walked past the mansion every day, hoping to see Five somehow or any of his siblings. Days would go by and Five would sit by his window to see you stand on the pathway, peering up at his house before moving on. You did this every day and it broke Five to see you less and less as days would go by each visit.

That was until utter chaos had ensued the night before when The Handler had found Five and declared war on him. The whole Hargreeves family was on edge since they didn't know when The Handler would bring the apocalypse again and they all tried to prepare for the worst. Five had stepped outside for a breather and to escape the tension, sighing out and sitting on the front steps.

"F-Five?" Five immediately froze, his heart screaming at him to look up and he did. You stood there with wide eyes, hands shaking as if something had spooked you. "Wait!" Before Five could disappear back inside his house, he felt the soft grip of your fingers on his wrist and his resolve broke. "Please. Please just... just wait." Five turned around, his heart breaking at the sight of you shaking and he immediately wrapped his arms around you to calm you down.

You both stood there in the quiet, just holding onto each other after so many years of being apart. You cried into Five's shirt, your turn of being in pain for missing the person you loved as he just held you. You let Five pick you up, wrapping your legs around his waist as he carried you inside his home to his bedroom.

"D-don't go..." Five screamed at himself for hurting you like this as you held on to him just as he did when you saved him.

"I'm sorry..." He whispered into your hair as he hugged you, rubbing your back. "I-I'm so s-sorry..." Five leaned back, trying to hold back his tears as he wiped your own away. He whispered apologies over and over again as he held your face in his hands, his forehead on yours as he cried.

"Please don't leave me again." you murmured and Five looked down at you after leaning back, nodding knowing he couldn't stay away from you.

"I love you (y/n). It was so hard for me to stay away when I wanted to run back to you."

"Then don't. I love you too much to let you slip from my fingers again." Five froze hearing your confession, looking at you with wide eyes as you blushed softly.

"You... You love me?" He couldn't understand why when you only knew him as some delusional boy you had saved, spouting nonsense of knowing you. Five's heart raced as you nodded but he still couldn't believe you and you could see the doubt in his eyes.

"I am in love with you Five Hargreeves. I'll always come back to you." You murmured before leaning up and carefully placing your lips on Five's. You heard him gasp softly, freezing before melting in the kiss and responding back deeply.

Five kissed you with everything he had, with all his love and pain and adoration for you. He missed you so much as he held you tightly in his arms, kissing you to prove to himself that you were truly here in front of him. Warmth filled his whole body as he tilted his head to kiss you deeper, his body fading away to just feel you when visions suddenly flashed before his eyes.

Five looked around to see that he wasn't home, instead somewhere filled with olden day buildings and pillars where people in simple white robes roamed about.

"Nicklaus!" He turned around to see his love run towards him with a beaming smile as he held out a bouquet of roses for her. "Awe you didn't have to!" she leaned up to kiss his cheek before kissing his lips with a large smile. "They are beautiful!"

"Anything for my love." Five beamed, kissing her hand that held a simple diamond ring on her ring finger.

Five's vision flashes again and he was kneeling on what seemed to be marble flooring, clouds surrounding a large castle with golden rays showering the marvellous building.

"You dare defy me and fraternise with a human mortal!" Five looked up to see a large bearded man holding lightning in his hand.

"Father-"

"You dare speak back to me Nicklaus! You are a god and you marry a human! You have brought shame on this family!"

"Please! I love her!" Five screamed out, looking to his side to see his love beaten up and reaching out for him.

"Since you love her so much, as punishment for your actions, you are both cursed to fall in love and be ripped away from each other. You will forever have a higher power and her a mere worthless human being. You will feel the pain of not being able to save her despite having powers!"

"(y/n)!" Five screamed as his father raised his hand with the lightning bolt towards his love as she looked at him with love.

"I'll come back to you, Nicklaus."

Five gasped as he looked down to see that he was holding hands with his love under the moonlight as they sat in the gazebo surrounded by black roses.

"You know you can always tell me what's wrong Princess. I am always here at your service."

"But that's the thing, I don't want to lose you."

"You won't lose me (y/n)." Five murmured quietly, leaning up to brush her hair behind her ear before holding her cheek. She sighed happily, leaning into his hold before looking up at him.

"I love you Aidan." She whispered.

"Princess, I am a mere knight. I don't deserve your love."

"I don't care. I have loved you the moment you saved me. Please tell me you feel the same." Five beamed happily, happiness filling his body but there was guilt eating away at him.

"I love you (y/n). I love you so much."

Five watched as his love cried, standing on the large hill opposite of him in her armour with her army behind her. (y/n) screamed out loud, raising her sword and signalling for her army to charge forward as the army behind him did the same.

"For Queen (y/n)!" she fought valiantly with her army, killing her opponents as Five didn't dare move. He just wallowed in guilt and self-hatred as he watched his love fight for her kingdom that he was supposed to take.

Five looked around the bloody field, seeing (y/n) fight against more men than she could take and his heart lurched forward seeing someone raise a sword behind her.

"(y/n)!" Five screamed out, teleporting before her as she looked at him with wide eyes. His arm reached out for her as blood trickled from her lips and Five screamed out, killing his own men around him. "I'm so sorry! Please don't leave me! I love you!"

"I love you too... I'll come back to you..."

Five grunted as he bumped into someone while following The Handler around the Commission. "Watch where you're going." Five hissed out but freezes when he looked into the bright eyes of a beautiful young woman.

She raised a brow at him, a cold but playful glare in her eyes. "You must be Five Hargreeves. It's nice to finally meet you. We didn't get to before you abandoned us to save your family the first time." she winks, poking Five's cheek and he knew he was blushing.

"(y/n) darling, show Five the ropes. He's come back to work for us. How exciting is that!"

"Yes mother." Five blinked as the Handler leaves and (y/n) grins at him, his heart racing from her precious smile.

"Well let's get going! We have another escape to plan don't we?" Five blinks down as she held his hand tightly in his, running down the hallways like giddy school students skipping class.

"No!" Five screamed out when he recognised where he was. The place where he was prisoned in his nightmares every single night as he held his love in his arms.

"F-Five..." Five cried as his love struggled to breathe, the wound in her chest bleeding heavily through her clothes."F-Five... L-leave me..."

"I am not doing such a thing." Five hisses out, teleporting towards the portal but ending a few centimetres away from it before he lost all of his powers.

"Five... you need t-to go... I won't make it..."

"Stop it! Don't say that!" Five screams out, holding (y/n)'s body tightly to his. "I can't leave you! I promised you! I promised to live the rest of our lives together-"

"-I know!" Five whimpered as his love screamed at him, crying out. "But I need you to live! Stop the apocalypse!"

"(y/n)-"

"-I love you Five Hargreeves. I love you with my whole being. My soul and heart belongs to you..." Five's heart shattered as (y/n) weakly took her wedding ring off and passed it to him, curling his fingers around the physical evidence of their love for each other.

"I-I love you too (y/-" Five grunts in surprise as his love shoved him through the portal, him reaching an arm out for her as he fell through.

"I'll come back to you..." The last thing he saw was his wive mouthing to him before she closed her eyes for the final time.

Five leaned back from the kiss as his head pounded and his heart ached, hearing your soft cries as you looked at him with wide eyes. "Five... My Five? My husband?" You whimpered and Five stared at you with wide eyes before you lunged for him.

"You remember?" Five stuttered out, his mind still wrapping around the visions of his past selves.

"Yes! I told you I'll always come back to you!" You laughed happily, leaning back to see Five still staring with wide eyes. His heart ached as he stared at you, gasping when he realised the curse was going to happen again.

"You need to leave (y/n)! You need to go-" Five quickly grabbed you, protecting you against his chest when a missile blew into the side of his house. The house shook violently and Five teleported you outside where chaos ensued.

There was absolute destruction as the ground fissured and buildings burned. People screamed out in horror and Five stood in fear as he saw The Handler point a gun at him.

"Time to end this Five Hargreeves."

"I'm not letting you hurt him mother!" Five looked down at you in surprise as you screamed up at her, grabbing a random gun and shooting her. The bullet easily went through her shoulder as if you regained your skills magically.

"You little-I knew I should never have adopted you! If you won't hand him over, then say goodbye to your world!" The Handler screamed, a nuclear bomb flying towards the Earth before she disappeared.

"(y/n)!" Five cried out for you, his visions of you dying flashing before his eyes over and over. You looked over at him with a loving smile like you always did, as your past selves flash in Five's eyes showing him the same expression.

Nicklaus.

Aidan.

Five.

"Five, I don't know why but I always come back to you. It's like my heart is solely made for you and so is my love. Five, I love you so much, you know I do."

"Please, stop saying that!" Five yells out, holding onto you tightly as the bomb came closer to Earth. "I keep losing you! I can't lose you! My heart can't take it anymore!" He wailed out as you held his cheeks in your hands. "Please. Please don't die again." You leaned forward and kissed his forehead.

"I'll come back to you Five. Just wait for me and we can be together again ok." You step back and Five reaches for you again.

"Stop! It won't stop! The curse won't stop! Please don't go!" You look up and raise your arms, a gold beam circling around the bomb with you inside it. Before it closed completely, Five teleports inside and hugs you.

"Five! You need to leave-"

"-I'm not leaving you anymore! You always leave me and I'm not letting you do that anymore! I'm staying with you." Five sniffled out, hugging you tightly to his chest as he nestled his head in your shoulder. You pull his head up, smiling at him with teary eyes.

"Ok. I'll stay with you." Five smiles sadly, leaning his forehead on yours.

"I love you (y/n). I always will. Let's find each other again." He leaned down to kiss you one last time as the bomb wiped out your world.
