💫 Boggart (Harry Potter AU) (Part 3) 💫

The ending of this story might seem disconnected as I was in a bit of a dark phase writing this but never finished the ending until now. I'm not feeling like that anymore now so maybe the ending might be a bit of a weird read.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not following the legitimate timeline of Harry Potter at all from neither the movies nor the books. All made up here ok.

Please don't crucify me if there are mistakes as I have never read the books, only watched the movies and even then, its been years since I last saw the movies.

⚠️ ALSO MAJOR TRIGGER WARNING! ⚠️

(y/n) - your name

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Why is it so fucking cold here?" (y/n) hisses out, huddled in her layers as her friends laugh at her grumbling. The students all arrived at Hogsmeade Station, walking towards the Three Broomsticks with their bags for the weekend stay.

"Come on (y/n), it's not that bad." one of her friends say, walking through the falling snowflakes.

"Yeah, look at Draco and Five, they're literally just wearing suits." another says.

"They're just crazy." (y/n) mumbles out, eager to get out of the cold even though it was such a beautiful sight to see the snow fall around the students. They all huddle into the inn, collectively sighing relief as they sat on the couches by the fire. Some of them headed up to their rooms while others ordered butterbeer and talked amongst themselves. Five leaned against the wall while talking, his hands in his pockets until he hears someone swear in relief.

She actually came.

Five stands up straight with a short burst of excitement, seeing (y/n) sit on the couch with her friends as she took her winter coat off. He was mesmerised for a bit, seeing her dress in a long red and black plaid skirt with a black turtle neck and winter boots, simple but elegant. It was a first for him to see her dress up and he couldn't help but admit she looked quite lovely, especially as her hair was free and not tied up.

"Now what's gotten you all flustered Hargreeves?" Blaise smirks out, turning to see that he was staring at (y/n). "Hold up, is that your deskmate? She looks different." Five quickly catches Blaise's attention to get him to leave her alone, glancing over every now and then as (y/n) chatted with her friends. All the students slowly went to their assigned rooms, excited about their plans for the two days while Five waited around in the foyer.

He noticed (y/n) on her phone and decided to grab her some tea. "You actually came." the girl jumps slightly as Five walks over to her and passes her a cup as she thanks him.

"Yeah, managed to finish things on time so I thought why not." (y/n) hums from the inviting warmth of the hot drink as Five sat next to her on the couch. He was silently glad that she came to the trip but of course, he wouldn't tell her that.

"What are you planning to do?"

"I want to visit the shops around here for sure, see if I want to buy anything." Five nods. "What about you?"

"I think the same as you. I'm mainly looking for more books."

"Yeah I see you read a lot, more than me even." there was a soft chuckle from (y/n) and Five was shocked by the sound.

"You read?"

"Sometimes, don't really have much time now like I did before."

"What genre do you normally go for?"

"Fiction for sure. I know you read a lot of books on physics and space. I see your nose glued to one every day." There was that same chuckle and Five wanted to try and make (y/n) laugh more often.

"Yeah-" Before he could say anything else, one of (y/n)'s friends call her up to set her stuff in the bedroom and Five followed her to go to his own room which was surprisingly just opposite hers. Everyone settled down in their rooms before all going out as a group to visit the shops, splitting in smaller groups.

"I'll meet you guys later." (y/n) waves to her friends as they split away, putting in her headphones again as she went to a store with random trinkets being sold. Dracos gang specifically went to go eat at a cafe as Five splits away from them, looking for a store that sold books. He walked into a store and instantly caught sight of a familiar plaid skirt, watching silently with an amused smile as (y/n) hummed quietly in the empty store. She was tapping her foot to the beat, arms crossed over her chest as she eyed the items.

Five walked over and she looked up sensing his presence, taking her headphones out when he asked her a question. "What are you looking for?"

"Something to get for my little sister."

"She's studying at a muggle school right?" (y/n) had talked to Five about her sister, explaining how she let her sister have the freedom to go to any school she wanted while (y/n) took the opportunity to go to Hogwarts so at least one of them in the family went to a wizarding school. She explained to him that it was her sister she normally calls every now and then on her laptop, Five even saying hello once to the younger girl.

"Yeah, she is. I told her I was coming here and she asked me to buy her something."

"You're always buying something for her." Five muses.

"Yeah well, that's what I get being the sibling that works."

She works, that's new.

"Where do you work?"

"Ah, you wouldn't know the company. I normally work at school, that's why I have my laptop." Five was shocked to hear how independent (y/n) was, more independent than most students in his grade. Even he didn't work. Not like he needed to with his status but that was not something to be proud of.

(y/n) picks a trinket and goes to buy it while Five roamed around. He spotted a polaroid camera, another muggle contraption and he had the urge to buy it. He knew (y/n) had a thing for taking pictures of things around her, explaining how memories were precious to her. Making up his mind, Five takes it to go buy it, having it wrapped nicely in a gift box.

"Want to go to the book store?" (y/n) asks and Five nods quickly, following her to the store. The two talked all day long, attached to each other by the hip before going to the cafe where everyone was at.

"Finally, there you are!"

"Girl we were looking for you!"

Both Five and (y/n) were taken away from each other by their friends, pulled to different parts of the cafe to stand and talk. Five glanced over at (y/n) every now and then, the group taking notice of this.

"You do like her." Theo smirks as Blaise pulls Five by his shoulders to congratulate him.

"I don't like anyone." Five glares at the boys that grin at him.

"Sure you don't, it's not like you don't look at her every chance you get." Draco says.

"Don't get me started on your ears turning red when she says walks past you and says hello." Marcus laughs out, patting Five on the back.

"Am I hearing this correctly!? Does Hargreeves here finally have a crush-"

"-Pansy shut the fuck up!" Five hisses lowly and she rolls her eyes. Draco's group all smirk at each other, having an idea and Five narrows his eyes at them. "Whatever you're planning-" Five suddenly stumbles when he gets pushed to sit on a couch, squashed next to someone when suddenly all the students hang together.

"I'm going to kill you all." (Y/n) seethes as she gets pushed to the couch by her friends, all of them grinning ear from ear and Five looks over to see that he was sitting next to her. "Sorry-"

"-no I'm sorry-" both Five and (y/n) give each other a shy smile, their friends secretly squealing at their successful mission.

"What do you want Draco? What's with the sudden niceness?" (Y/n) asks, the platinum blonde being reasonably tolerable seeing as Potter wasn't here with his friends.

"Hargreeves and Notts are throwing a party in their room!" The students all cheer knowing the Slytherins always threw the best parties. The kids all hustled to the Slytherins room, casting spells in the room to throw the party. Lights dimmed and illuminated a dark green, music blasting against the walls while being silent for the neighbours on the outside and someone managing to sneak in fire whiskey and other strong alcohol.

Five sighs from his room being trashed but decides to enjoy the party, taking sips from his glass of whiskey while talking to some of the other students. Most of the students were dancing together with a minority standing by the walls to talk. Five leans against the balcony door, his eyes casting over his glass to see (y/n) dancing with her friends.

The whiskey and the student he was talking to was soon forgotten as she danced with her hands through her hair, a drunken smile on her face from the almost empty bottle of alcohol in her hand. She swayed her hips to the beat and Five could feel his cheeks heat from the view, the music blaring and thrumming through his body as the lights cast a mystical glow over (y/n). She sang loudly with her friends to the words of the song, using the empty bottle as a microphone which amused Five until there was a beat drop and everyone jumped to the rhythm.

Someone suddenly shoved Five towards (y/n)'s direction and he stumbles near her, glaring at Draco and Blaise who had mischievous grins on their faces. Five turns back around, mesmerised and in a trance to see her dance in front of him as the strobe lights transfixed him. Maybe it was the whiskey in his system, maybe it was the intoxication in the air or the heat of the room but Five didn't stop his body from moving towards (y/n). She didn't stop him, neither mind his hands that gently laid on her hips. Instead, she moved back further into Five's chest, her back against his front. He shuddered from her movements, his senses filled with the flowery scent from her hair as she moved her hand to lay over one of his.

Five began to move with (y/n), the music taking over their minds as they rocked their hips together to the beat. (y/n) let out a deep shaky sigh, leaning her head back against Five's shoulder as he ran his nose against the skin of her neck. He pulled her closer, one of his hands completely wrapping around her waist as the other trailed over the hand that held the empty bottle of alcohol, making her drop it and entwine his fingers with hers. Five sighs against (y/n)'s bare shoulder, feeling her shudder in his hold before she moved around in his hold to face him.

Five shudders from the shock of one of (y/n)'s hands suddenly moving up his chest to lay around his neck and tangle in his hair, pulling his face closer as her other hand guided his to rest on her lower hip. Five pulls her closer as they moved to the beat together, him leaning his forehead on hers as their lips were dangerously close. He could taste the fire whiskey on (y/n)'s lips from how close they were, both of them looking at each other amidst the dancing bodies.

Before they could lean closer, the lights suddenly turned on and the two quickly jumped away from each other. "What gives Draco!?" the students all grumble out but the platinum blonde held up an empty liquor bottle.

"Truth or dare anyone?" some students left to go sleep while most continued to hang out in the bedroom to play, sitting in a circle. (y/n) needed to escape the awkward tension between her and Five as they both looked away from each other, moving to escape to her bedroom but her friend begged her to stay.

"Aren't you joining?" Pansy had asked Five who sat on his bed, sneaking glances at (y/n) who had her head bowed. She sat far on the other side of his bed, not even looking at him and he frowns at that.

I messed up...

"If I know you, and I do, you're going to put me through hell with your dares." Five rolls his eyes as Pansy chuckles before focusing back on the game. He and (y/n) watched the game without exchanging any words, the night slowly drawling on. Five's mind raced with possibilities of how to talk to (y/n) but every time he opened his mouth, the words froze in his chest. It continued like this long into the night, the party-goers soon leaving one by one. Five turned to finally talk to (y/n) but he froze when he saw her fast asleep on his bed, laying on her side dangerously close to the edge-

"-shit-" he quickly grabs her before she turned over and fell on the floor, pulling her close to his chest. He looks down at the girl in his arms, her humming against the bedding as she curled into a ball from the cold. Five didn't have the heart to wake up (y/n), draping the blanket over her and lying down beside her. He carefully moved her hair away from her face, gently brushing his thumb against her cheek. Five soon slowly fell asleep with a calm that he had never felt before, his night terrors always having the best of him but tonight, he may have had the best sleep he ever had in his life. The two slept next to each other, laying so close as their fingers gently brushed against each other before entwining together.

The night moved on well into the early morning, still too dark for anyone to be up until (y/n) slowly woke up. A jolt in her sleep that caused her to suddenly sit up with a racing heart, a sense of panic not recognising the room she was in until she looked down to see the boy that laid next to her.

Five...

The boy that had been so kind to her, the boy that was seemingly always there for her.

The boy that noticed things about her when no one else bothered to even look.

He slept peacefully next to her, holding her hand and she carefully brushed her fingers against his. They were warm and soft, a feeling that was replaced by the biting cold when she removed her hand.

She shouldn't be here, she shouldn't be falling for him.

There were angry voices in her head throwing venom of how she didn't deserve to be with this precious boy, how she was not worthy to even have feelings for him. (y/n) shook her head, grabbing another bottle of alcohol to drown out the voices as she always had for years, needing more and more as they came back stronger and stronger if she was sober.

"Don't deserve anything... pathetic... useless..." her voice slurred as she slowly got up unceremoniously, downing the bottle empty before picking up two more. She stumbled her way to the bedroom door, opening it and closing it as she left the room to keep drinking.

"(y/n)..." the boy she left in his bed mumbled her name, face scrunched as the terrors suddenly came back to him and he quickly sits up. Five noticed that his bed was empty, carefully slipping from his room to find (y/n). Her bedroom was empty and so was the inn's foyer, going outside to find her. He stopped when he saw a figure standing at the bottom of the inn stairs with bags set by her feet. She had her head raised to watch the snow fall, the snowflakes dancing around her skin so beautifully. Five's heart broke to see (y/n) so sad and in pain as he heard her crying, throwing away the empty bottles of whiskey she had been drinking.

"Don't deserve to be happy..." she mumbled over and over and Five ran to stop her but she had cast a spell to apparate away.
