♡ Fights

I had the urge to write this and I just had to or else I probably would have rolled around the floor trying to keep myself from exploding. I'll rearrange the parts so that all of the Siren's Song chapters are together later.

Normally Sam and Gabe didn't fight. They just weren't like that with each other. Sure they pestered and annoyed and made sure both of them were slightly pissed, but they never even full on fought.

Dean and Cas had never seen them like this. It had been a week of none stop fighting, and they were about ready to kill their brothers with their steady stream of yelling.

Sam frowned at Gabe. "You can't just charge into battle," he pointed out.

Gabe shrugged. "Why shouldn't I?"

"It's dangerous and suicidal," the hunter replied, eyes narrowing. "Gabe, don't tell me you're doing it on purpose for recklessness sake."

Gabriel closed his eyes. "I can't be honest, then," he retorted.

Sam stepped closer. "Why?"

"I'm useless and I've done too much for the wrong thing," he snarled, suddenly on the defense. "Letting me die would have been the best option."

To be honest, Dean and Cas had no clue what was going on with their brothers. All they knew was they their fights had been getting more and more violent and vocal. Neither of them realized that it was because they were both far too scared.

Destiel didn't know the emotions beneath the fights, or the double meanings to their words that none of them ever seemed to catch. They hadn't caught onto the trend of what they fought about, how it was about them being basically suicidal when it came to hunts.

Gabe knew Sam would never love him. He'd dealt with it for years, and slowly he'd come to terms with it. He never got over the guilt, though.

The archangel would still have nightmares about what he did to Sam. They would keep him awake most nights, suffocating him. All of them were right. He'd done so much to the Winchesters and his little brother that he knew he was below them, undeserving of them.

"What is it with you, Sam?" Gabe's gaze searched the hunter's worriedly.

Sam shook it off. "Nothing," he muttered.

"Obviously, it's something," Gabriel snapped. "Just stop throwing yourself into fights."

"Oh, like you do any better," Sam retorted, rolling his eyes.

Sam was so far gone. He was lost in the short angel, and he really couldn't care less if he was found. He just craved to kiss Gabe, to pull him close and simply know that he was safe.

He had grown far too protective over him. All he wished was for Gabe to see what he meant to Sam, so he could stop getting purposefully hurt.

No, Sam wasn't stupid. He knew Gabe was allowing himself to get hurt.

Neither of them wanted to confess. In ways, they already had, but to them it seemed no more different than any other comment either of them would make. But life was determined to get them to admit.

"Why do you always have to do this?" Sam was practically screeching at Gabe. "I just got you back and now you want to sacrifice yourself again?"

Gabe clenched his jaw, eyes alight. "I'm not needed, Sam! I saved that girl, and I would have gladly died if she still would have lived!"

The hunter shook his head. "That's not worth your own life!" he snapped.

Gabe snorted. "You're one to talk. You're just being a hippocrit."

"That's different!"

"How?" Tears filled Gabe's eyes. "How the hell can you consider that different? I still would have lost you!"

Sam snarled, "I'm a human. The world don't need me. You're an archangel. They actually need you!"

They both went silent, staring at each other. Gabe's vision was blurry from the tears, his lips quivering as he tried not to cry. Sam was breathing heavy, the breaths shattered.

Gabe took a step closer, fully prepared to slap Sam. He was about to, his arm raised and beginning to fly towards the tall man's face, when he caught it, effectively keeping him still.

Sam leaned down close to his ear and whispered, "Care to try that again?"

Gabe gasped and suddenly he was in tears, his knees buckling. He collapsed into his hunter's arms, sobs wracking his body.

"Gabriel?" Sam's voice sounded so worried, so emotional. "Gabe, please don't cry! Gabe!"

He buried his head into Sam's chest, letting the tears soak into the fabric of his shirt. "Don't leave me," he murmured unsteadily and panicked, repeating it in a loop. "Please, don't."

Sam's hold on him tightened and the moose began to stroke his hair. "I won't," he whispered back. "I won't, I promise."

Gabe slowly pulled away, looking up at Sam's soulful eyes. "I just don't want to lose you, Sam. I... I couldn't take it," he admitted, words hiccuping.

"You won't," the hunter reconciled. "I'll be here as long as you need."

Gabe sniffled with a small smile. "Thank you," he voiced before curling back up against Sam.

Even though neigher of them would admit it yet, they were undeniably, unconditionally head over heels in love. All they did was care... perhaps just a little too much.

I promise I'll work on other fics! I just had the sudden urge to write this one so I hope it's ok!

Love y'all!
