◇ A Study in Destiel
I've been watching the first season of Sherlock a lot lately, and if I post this when I'm writing it now (Saturday Nov 26) then I've just watched Moana, WHICH WAS AWESOME AND I CRIED AND THE SONGS ARE BEAUTIFUL.
So since I don't really sleep these days, it may or may not be midnight again depending on when I post this.
All aboard the SuperLock train. Choo choo.
Dean needed help. He'd tried everything, but his nerves would also get the best of him. Chickening out just kind of a came easy to him.
He sat with his head against the wheel of Baby, thinking. She'd be home by now, wouldn't she? Neither of them had had school today because of Thanksgiving break, and boy was Dean ever greatful for that.
Normally he would spend his Thanksgiving away on some hunt, leaving Sam with a friend or something. He couldn't do that these days. There was something keeping him here.
Right. Castiel. That was the reason.
It was so not Dean's fault that he'd fallen for his best friend! The guy was an absolute angel, and he meant that in every sense of the word. It was all too easy to spend his time with him, starting to develop not so friendly feeling for him.
Dean didn't know what to do.
Biting his lip, he opened the door to his car and stepped out, letting it close behind him. He ran a hand through his hair as he walked up to the door of the apartment. 221B.
This apartment was all too familiar. He'd been here with the owners on several occasions, though he tried to avoid it quite a bit. Sherlock was a bit too analytic for his liking.
After taking a moment to summom up his courage, he knocked. Instantly, he cringed away, standing rigid awkwardly.
The door opened momentarily and there stood Addie, shaking her head at him. Her eyes were sympathetic. "Still having troubles?" she asked.
Adeline Holmes-Watson. Short and blonde. Her mind worked just as fast as Sherlock's, and her heart was as golden as John's. She pulled him inside, sitting him down on a couch.
"I can't believe you haven't said anything yet!" she exclaimed. "He's been waiting for you to make the first move!" She suddenly frowned. "Why didn't you bring me one?"
Dean was confused. "What?"
Addie giggled. "Sorry, I went off again." With an eyeroll, she explained, "You didn't bring me a donut from Patrick's place."
He shot her a teasing look. "How'd you know I was there and had a donut?" he asked.
She snorted. "You really want to make me walk you through?"
"Yes."
"Mostly it's just your smell that is literally only found at Patrick's, but you also have a tiny bit of glaze on your cheek and a signature napkin sticking out of your breast pocket." She raised an eyebrow. "It's not like it's that difficult."
Dean smirked. "I know, I just like hearing you get all egotistical about it."
She pulled a face. "You know just what to say to make a girl tingle," she said sarcastically.
He laughed. Then he was suddenly serious. "I don't know what to do, Addie," he confessed. "Help me."
***
"I don't know what to do, Charlie. Help me," Castiel begged, giving her puppy dog eyes.
The redhead perked up, shifting on her bed. "I've been expecting this!" she bubbled. "Addie and I were making bets." She frowned. "I owe her a fifty and a box of donuts."
Cas gave her a confused look amd laughed. "Anyways," he said pointedly, "I really need help with Dean."
"You two have been best friends since you were little," Charlie consoled. "This shouldn't be that hard."
The boy snorted. "Says the girl that flirts with everything that moves."
Charlie put her hands in the air. "Hey, I didn't know that chick was a mannequin!"
Cas rolled his eyes. "Sure," he drawled. "And I'm Sherlock Holmes."
"He lives three houses down and has a daughter our age," she said, raising an eyebrow. "Married to John? Ringing a freaking bell?"
"Do you just have to take the fun out of everything?" Cas asked with a pout.
"Yes." She patted his head. "Only for you, babe. Now, what's your problem?"
He flopped back onto the bed. "I can't just go to his porch and declare my undying love for him."
"Why not?"
He threw a pillow at her. "Because that's what a stupid person in some stupid romcom would do!"
Charlie flapped her arms about, disbelieving. "Oh my chucking croft, Cas! That's what you are!"
He screwed up his nose. "I is?"
"Yes, you is, bitch," she sassed. She glared at him for a moment before her eyes widened. "I got a plan."
***
"JAWWWWWWWN!"
"WHAT?"
"DINNER!"
"BE DOWN IN A MINUTE!"
Sherlock sighed and turned to his guests. His daughter wasn't downstairs yet, but she'd left him in the company of Charlie, Dean, and Castiel. While he enjoyed the company, they were still a little dull.
He noticed instantly that Dean and Cas weren't conversing nearly as much as they usually did, and they had distanced themselves. Odd. Perhaps they'd finally began to confess their love to themselves? Taking another glance, Sherlock decided this was so.
Charlie sent him a look and he nodded. He quickly made sure that Dean and Cas were sitting across from each other by staking a claim for him and John at one end of the table and Charlie saving herself and Addie opposite seats in the middle.
"Sherly, dear, did you make sure to not burn the food, this time?" John teased, smiling at his husband.
Sherlock rolled his eyes. "It was only one time!" he defended, grinning back.
Addie fell into her seat beside him. "'Sup, family." She looked at Charlie in a conspiring fashion.
On the other end of the table, Dean was piling his plate with food. He was also pointedly avoiding eye contact with Cas.
Charlie frowned at him. "You're awfully quiet, Dean," she commented, her voice smooth.
He chuckled nervously. "Gotta let someone else talk for a change, right?"
"Well, if you insist..." Addie gave him a devilish grin. "You do know how much I enjoy talking, right, Dean?"
His eyes widened. Shit.
Quickly, he turned to Cas as an escape. "How's your day, Cas?" he blurted.
Cas looked like a deer in headlights and his fork, full of turkey, fell to the plate as he hurried to correct himself. "Er, yes, ah, of course!" He nodded his head.
Sherlock snickered. "You two are an adorable couple, you know," he hummed, digging into his food.
"We're not together," Dean choked out after a coughing fit. He glanced at Cas, who shuffled in his seat, face red.
The curly haired man looked surprised. "Are you serious?"
Charlie and Addie fell into laughter and even John grinned like an idiot at his husband, kicking his shin lightly beneath the table.

Cas yelped as the two girls shoved them into Addie's bedroom. He glared at the door. "You two are shits!" he yelled.
"Am not!" retorted Charlie. "We're bad bitches!"
"Let me out!"
This time it was Addie's voice. "We'll let you out as soon as you and Dean grow a pair and talk," she said rationally.
He heard them leave and turned to Dean, who was sprawled out on the bed, staring at nothing.
"So..." Cas drawled awkwardly.
Dean sat up. "I'm scared," he murmured, meeting his best friend's gaze for a split second before looking away.
Cas frowned. "Why?"
"Because they're listening. The only way out is to confess to you, and that's why I'm scared." He took a deel breath. "I'm terrified of completely screwing this up and wrecking our friendship."
Cas's eyes widened. "Then, we must be thinking the same thing, because this is currently every fanfic ever."
"What?" Dean made a confused face. "What's a fanf-"
Cas moved quickly, grabbing Dean's collar and kissing him. The force was enough to knock Dean back a little, but soon he righted himself, looping his fingers through the beltloops on Cas's jeans.
Cas had never tasted something quite as good as Dean's lips. The soft, pink skin was akin to heroine, so addicting and drawing him closer. And oh did it feel amazing.
He pulled the other boy in closer, exchanging the grip on Dean's collar to snake his arms around his neck. Dean only clutched at him tighter, pushing themselves together as close as physically possible.
Cas ran his tongue over Dean's lips, asking gently for admission. The other complied greedily, readily splitting his lips for Cas, allowing their tongues to glide together.
Only when they were getting lightheaded did Cas finally draw away from Dean. They were panting and gasping, cheeks pink. He smiled at the taller teen before laughing.
"We could have been doing that months ago!" Cas exclaimed.
Dean grinned. "We'll just have to make up for it, now won't we?" he purred.
Cas let a small smirk onto his lips. "Oh?"
***
Addie and Charlie exchanged a look. "We did it!" the redhead squealed. "Destiel is canon!"
Her friend giggled. "And in one of the most cliche ways possible."
Charlie nudged her. "You enjoy cliche," she reminded her teasingly.
Addie shrugged. "Maybe a little," she admitted.
I've been a little out of it lately, guys, and for that I'm sorry. I've had some major writers block. I have a few suggestions from y'all, which I'm going to start work on very soon, as well as the next part of Siren's Song, so be on the look out!
Also, I'm so obsessed with Johnlock lately. My mom looked at me and tried telling me that there's no ship and neither of them are gay and blah blah blah.
Like, mom, allow me to live in my fantasies, please. I love you, but don't ruin my dreams.
Thanks for tuning in, guys!
