Chapter Twenty One

SHE dipped her quill in her ink pot, her smile kept on her face. Jenna put her quill to her temple, connected it to her brain and wrote her first refrain, a testament to her pain. * insert Hamilton music *

Dear Mum and Dad,

I've returned from the trip to Florida and life is good. I need a little life advice from Mum, I'll write it in a separate letter. Anyway, my results in my tests are great, so no need to worry. I want to borrow a book from the library but I need a form signed, I'll send it with Zeus. Hope you're well!

Jenna

She sighed and looked at the door to see if Sirius was coming. She was sick of all of this work and just wanted to sleep. There was a Quidditch match on that he was excited about, though of course she had no idea what was special about it.

Once in the dormitory, she pulled out her notebook and flipped it open to the second page. She bewitched her quill to write a paragraph of her homework, but quickly stopped when the sound of dropping glass erupted from the right.

Jenna cautiously opened the door and walked out, and seeing Sirius and the gang, rolled her eyes and rested her chin in her palm. When Sirius reached her she saw that his collar was ruffled and straightened it. She tried to flutter her eyelids alluringly like the girls on TV.

"How was it then?" She noticed that Remus was at the back and she tried to wave but he appeared to have not seen.

"Brilliant, of course Slytherin were thrashed!" He grinned and stared dreamily at her.

"Alright you two lovebirds, back to your little games."

The fact that Sirius Black and Jenna Jones were together had travelled at the speed of lightning. People pointed in corridors and made kissy faces at them. But this didn't bother the couple as they were studying too hard for the end of year exams.

Marlene glared at them from a table with Remus and Lily settled. Jenna turned back to Sirius, who was trying to learn how to write in italics but miserably failing.

"What did I do?" He asked.

"Nothing. I just wondered what you've said to Marlene and the others," she said under her breath. She nudged a paper ball off of her table.

"I haven't said a word! What did you say?" He grinned and made up another paper ball. She slapped his hand away from hitting it towards her.

"For your information, I haven't uttered a letter to them." Jenna hissed, picking up her books and hurrying off, her things clustered together tight in her arms.

Sharing the dormitory with people who talked about her in a horrible way and glared at her was very difficult and uncomfortable.

Jenna pushed open the door to the girl's dormitories, checking that nobody was there. Lily was sprawled out on her bed, reading. Jenna sighed, and, looking back to see Marlene and the rest coming, she took her chance.

"Lily?"

"Mhm?" She grumpily muttered.

"D-Do you know why the others are ignoring me?"

"It's Marlene."

"What?" Jenna could hear footsteps and she quickly ran to her bed and hopped on. But an array of voices were arguing outside.

"She...doesn't really like you with Sirius, you see-" Marlene with her shining golden hair burst through the door, followed by Alice and Abigail. She snorted at the sight of Jenna and went to sit down beside Lily.

"What was that, Lily?" She said sweetly.
