Celebrities

Ah....celebrities.

The people that fill up our world. They are in every entertainment show. They give us something to do every day, create the fun in our life, to an extent. After all, we do need somebody cool to stalk except for the ex-boyfriends and random chicks on Instagram! What's so wrong about them?

Everything.

Let's start with DISNEY CHANNEL. When I was seven years old, I loved Hannah Montana. Favorite show, I swear. I had posters, merchandise, dolls, all that stuff. My close second was Wizards of Waverley Place, but I didn't own anything for that show. I only dressed up as Alex Russo one Halloween, but that was really it. These stars were my idols, role models, who I wanted to grow up to be like.

Then fast forward to now, or at least pretty recently.

I was in sixth or seventh grade, I believe, when Wrecking Ball came out. If you haven't seen it, don't. Basically, Miley Cyrus - yes, the star of Hannah Montana - is swinging on a wrecking ball, completely naked. It's really disturbing. Anyways, when I saw it, I was so.... it was weird. The star of the show I used to like became..... this?! I had no words.

I then saw Selena Gomez's videos. Though not too bad, her clothing scared me. Was this what Alex Russo had become? Even Demi Lovato's Neon Lights video, though mild, wasn't what I expected - not in a good way.

What I don't understand is why they had the need to change. They were fine the way they were and all...

Next, we go to POP MUSIC. In the Pop music genre, you see a couple of people that are just fine - mainly the guys, like Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran, and also Meghan Trainor. But then you have so many exceptions.

Katy Perry: Her clothing, especially in the 'California Gurls' video is either minimal or nonexistent. It's not right.
Ariana Grande: Sure, she sings well, but her outfit and 'moves' are usually repulsive.
Nicki Minaj: Do I even have to explain? Her 'Anaconda' video explains it all. Just.....ew.
Taylor Swift: YES! I know! Taylor is fine! She's my favorite singer of all time. But ever since she decided to 'switch' into Pop music, her clothing has changed, her style in videos has changed, everything has changed (yes, I know that's a song) and I don't even know. It's not too nice.

Lastly, we have Kim Kardashian, who doesn't really fit into any category. If you've seen her photo shoot.... I mean, it's one thing to send nudes by mistake or something. But going naked for some magazine cover....it's bad.

So right now I'm complaining about how awful society is. Why should anyone have to take off their clothes or act indecently to attract attention? I find it completely repulsive and disgusting. Plus, if kids are going to look up at these celebrities and act like them, what will society become? Personally, I believe that male singers are better for looking up to, but hey! That's just me.

Peace out! :)
