Communication disorder. It's a condition where a person had problems with communicating with other people.

A beautiful woman is seen walking into the school. People around her start to stare.

This person is an example of someone with such a condition. An important thing to remember is: Just because the person had trouble communicating, doesn't mean that person doesn't want to communicate with others.

Itan Private School. It's a well-known advanced high school in the prefecture.

A young boy begun to put his shoes in his  locker when he notice someone to his left. Tadano just kept walking on...meanwhile a girl looked at Y/n, "oh, hi! Nice to meet you. We must be classmates, right?"

Y/n's face stiffened and he looked to her, to which he started to give a deadly aura and glare at her. His eyes were piercing her soul, they looked like a darkness swept over her very soul and was trapping Komi into its swarm. "Eeeeh?! Did I say it wrong! I thought it was just a proper greeting."

Y/n quickly walked off as Komi started to relax. "Maybe...he's shy?"

She looks to his locker, "L/n. That's a pretty cool name."

She then head to her classroom and sat down. "Either way, I think this school is going to be okay. I hope I have fun here."

She noticed someone next to her, realizing that's it's the boy from before. "I didn't think we'd be desk buddies..."

Y/n started to shake as the class started to look at him.

"L/n, huh? Hehehehehehe."

Y/n made himself the center of attention on his first day of school.

Komi looked around to see cameras and people outside, "eh? Are they...filming me? No...maybe I'm just overthinking it."

The teacher walked up to the board. "Self-introduction time."

"IIIIIIIIIIIII M-M-M-MY NAME IS AGARIIIIIIII,UUUUUUMMMMMMM, NICE TO MMMMMMMEEEETTT YOUUU ALLLLLLLLLL!" Agari loudly introduced herself.

"Wahahahahaha! Agari, you're being too loud!" A girl patted her on the back and the class smiled. Y/n turned his head the other way.

"Seems like this is a nice class! Phew." Komi thought as the teacher looked around before.

"Next."

Komi stood up as so she can be seen. The filming got more intense and she started to get a little nervous. "I...I'm Komi Shouko, it's nice to meet you all."

She then sat down, wondering if she's did it correctly. The teacher called out the next person, and for a moment, nobody appears to be next. But, then teacher taps Y/n's desk, alerting him. He had two things behind his ears, but no one but Komi saw them. He soon panicked before calming down in a silent manner, he raised his hands to speak, but it seemed useless. He tried to do something with his hands before it failed. He went up to the board and grabbed the chalk. He then spelled his name as: L/n Y/n.

'I'm looking forward to attending this school. I hope to get along with everyone and that you all can accept me.'

The note Y/n left didn't really to land or rather nobody cared too much. Komi was still fixated on the two things he was hiding under his hair.

Soon class went as normal. It was actually pretty boring since many knew most of the stuff anyway. Plus, first day of school, the teachers didn't really have anything for anyone to do. "Bring the things I listed to school tomorrow. Got it, kids?"

Y/n's eyes kept getting pulled towards Komi. But he tried to stop it. But Komi had the same reaction towards him. None of them could tell why. For Komi, maybe it was curiosity. The items were lodged in the back of her mind like a pin. Y/n noticed she dropped her eraser and Y/n picked it up. A compass flew through the tiny through his hand. It lodged itself in the ground and his finger got cut a little. He turned around to see... A NINJA?!

Y/n started to shake in fear as he put the eraser on her desk and gave a tiny glare at the man behind him. Komi looked at the eraser and then at Y/n. She gave a tiny smile, "thank you."

Y/n looked at her and dog ears came out as he started to shake even worse, gripping his chest. Komi got worried and Komi tried to act like she didn't see anything. "I wonder if he's okay...?"

Time flew by again and the class was told to rise. Y/n lazily got up and looked to the exit. People immediately started rushing to Komi and Y/n pushed Tadano out of the way so he wouldn't get caught in the crossfire. Y/n's face collided with at least three different elbows before he blacked out on the desk.

Komi saw the boy smash into his desk and black out, worrying about his safety. "They...did it without hesitation. Is this a...normal class?"'

She stayed behind as she soon took a nap after explaining the situation. She soon heard something...

"....Man.... Why did I.... come forward without... saying anything...?" A boy's voice rang out to Komi and she slowly opened her eyes. The voice was soft and quiet, like it hadn't been used much. "Even a word...would've been something."

"I must have zoned out. How long was I asleep?" Komi theorized but then remembered the gym.

"Oh, man! I forgot about gym!" "Woof~"

Komi looked to her right to see Y/n and he looks at Komi. Y/n had a small dog plushie in his hand. There was a large awkward silence before Komi started to sweat. "..I... I didn't hear...anything?"

Y/n immediately dashed for the door, seemingly with dog ears. "WAIT!"

"I'm totally lying, I hear him say 'Woof' and it was adorable! But he booked it! If I don't stop him, it might change him!" Komi worried about the plan. But then she remembered all the times Y/n's been in the spot light. "Hey... L/n-kun! Are you... bad at speaking with others?"

Y/n froze but Komi stood her ground. Y/n turned around with shock. Y/n did sign language at a rapid pace but Komi couldn't understand. "I-I'm sorry, I don't understand."

Y/n kept going but saw her face but he then noticed the blackboard. He rushed to the blackboard, and picked up chalk. 'How could you tell that I have trouble speaking to others?'

"Well, I guess..you had trouble forming words so I figured..." Komi said as she looked at Y/n's tight grip on the chalk. "Does anyone else know?"

'Nope.' The blackboard replied. Y/n then started to shake, 'well, we might as get going.'

Y/n used RUN!

'WAIT!' Komi pulled on Y/n's uniform. "You wanted to talk more, didn't you?"

But it failed!

Y/n shook and tried to do more sign language but remembered she didn't know any. Y/n picked up the chalk,
'I couldn't eat my lunch.'

"Are you hungry?"  Komi got worried and Y/n wrote something else. Her eyes went wide at what she saw.

'Not really, I want to chat. I get so nervous when I'm in front of people, and my face tenses up because I get so scared.' Y/n wrote, 'I have this...problem. My ears are messed up, I can barely hear out of them, I might as well be fully deaf. I can only hear a little and I've barely communicated with people, but the change is just... it just gets too heavy at times. When I get close to people, they feel awkward and back away, and I can tell by the way their expressions change... they really do hate me."

Komi noticed Y/n's hand starting to shake."L/n..."

'Back in middle school... I ate my lunches alone. I grew a hate for lunch. My parents were all about choices and that I could choose to get up and speak, to wake up happy, but it's not that easy. How could they talk to someone they can't relate to, someone who can't hear them. And so I grew so silent...It's as if I lost the ability to speak. I didn't know what to do. How should I speak? And after that, then what? What if they reject me? How can I speak to them again? What if they think I'm boring and annoying? How should I smile? What about if I'm trying too hard? What if I'm trying to less? I'm lost and I don't know what to do...'

"Hic...Hic..." Komi thought she heard Y/n crying. 'I wanted to ask them to eat lunch with me.'

Komi felt bad for Y/n and walked over.  "Here, you can use this."

'No, it's just hiccups.' After a few minutes, they finally stopped. 'I can't greet people. Anyone can do it easily, but not me. Expressing happiness, conveying gratitude, talking about past mistakes, fissuring studies, small talk about the weather... anyone can do it, but not me. I'm sorry. I've must have been bothering you. If there's anything I can do...'

"L/n-kun, I don't remember you doing anything to bother me." Komi said as Y/n mind flashed back through the day.

'Anyway...' "Ignored."

'I still think I have to apologize to you. I'm sorry. We've been talking for too long. Everyone's bound to get the wrong idea. I...I think it's better for everyone if we just forget this whole thing. You and I, two opposites, not meant to be around each other. And that's...that's okay.' Y/n then erased the board. 'Goodbye.'

He started to walk out and passed Komi. Suddenly...

*Scritch*

Y/n heard something and turned around at the board. Komi had a small smile and was holding a different peace of chalk. 'It's a beautiful day, right?'

Y/n made eye contact with Komi before walking back to the board, and picking up some chalk. 'Yes.'

"Why don't you try saying something else?" Komi asked Y/n and Y/n started to shake.

'The sakura petals look beautiful.' Y/n felt doom in his heart. Komi nodded at him, that seemingly calmed Y/n down. Y/n wrote more. Time seemingly slowed down for the two.

'I'm not sure why I thought you cried during lunch earlier.'

'Sorry: I didn't think I would start hiccuping at that moment.. terrible timing.'

'It's okay! Really, it was actually, kinda cute.'

'A-Ah. T-Thank you. Um, how to stop hiccups: Drink water, hold breath as long as possible, take a deep breath right before the next one comes.'

'I actually knew about that one. When did you learn that?'

'I just looked it up earlier. I'm hungry now.'

'Yeah, I am as well '

'I thought I would die of embarrassment during my self-introduction.'

'Nervous was putting it lightly, I was unsure how to approach it. But I think you did fine.'

'Really...?'

'Really.'

'Really really?'

'Really really. Thanks for picking up my eraser for me.'

'No problem. But... why did you wait for me in the classroom?'

'Because I thought you might not know we'd be in the gym next period.'

'Thank you. Do you not want to go to the gym?'

'I think we'd draw everyone's attention if we went now.'

'Yeah, if I can avoid that. I will. Let's just skip that period.'

'I never took you for a rebel, L/n.'

'Heh, sorry, I just..don't like conflict too much.'

'Well do you like dogs?'

'Yes.'

'So when you were talking to that stuff animal...'

'No comment.'

'I'm more of a cat person but I like dogs all the same. They say that pets tend to look like their owners... I've seen a person with a lookalike cat before too.'

'I saw an man walking a dog that looked just like him in the shopping district yesterday.'

'Was it you?'

'No comment.'

'Komi-san, what's your dream?'

'Having a hundred friends.'

Y/n started to shake with a smirk. Komi started to write on the board as Y/n held in a laugh.

'Please don't laugh.'

Y/n lost the urge to laugh and let out a sigh of relief. 'Don't worry, I think people like us will have something close in dreams.'

'I guess you're right. Since I'll be your first friend, we both only need 99 more.'

Y/n went wide eyed and started to shake. Y/n looked at Komi and Komi started to worry and blush. She quickly erased what she write, but Y/n said, "I...I would like...that...thank...thank you."

Komi looked at Y/n to see him blushing massively as Komi couldn't help but blush at his soothing voice. "Cute. SO CUTE!!!!"

Y/n quickly dashed out of the classroom and Komi let him go.

[And this is where the curtains to my abnormal school life swung open. The goal now is... to help L/n-kun so that he can communicate better and make 99 more friends]

Komi looked at the board. "Helping someone communicate better can apply to almost anyone, but Y/n is a special case... what would I call it...? Convey... can't... hm..."

'L/n-Kun has communication disorder.'

BUT THEY HAVE YET TO REALIZE IT!! At the school they go to everyday, Itan Private High School, the prefecture's well-known advanced high school, accepts it students based on only their interview! What the school deems important is personality! Yes it's what you expect!

Komi turns to see her classmate, Tadano. "Good morning, Tadano."

"Ah, Komi-San. Good morning." Tadano said before he looked at Y/n. He smiled at him. "Good morning, Y/n."

"GUUUUUUUUUUUGUGUUUUUUUUGUGUUUUUUUUUGUGUUUUUUUUGUGUUUUUGOOOOOOOOOOOGGOGOGOGOGGOOGOGOG-!" Y/n started shaking. Tadano started to pick up what was happening. "Guud."

...How hard it will be for L/n-kun to find friends at this kind of school.

"Komi, Komi?"

Komi's eyes started to open as Y/n shook her shoulder, they appeared to be at school. "You okay? It's almost time to go."

Komi silently nodded as Najimi bursted in the room, "HELLO TEAM!"

"Don't call us a team when you're late from doing the work." Tadano says as they were doing papers for the requests.

"Psh, high school, right?" Y/n smiled at Komi as Komi remembered her dream. She then smiled and nodded as well.
