Rage

It's been a couple months into Arthur's reign, and all has been well. Some sorcerers have successfully assimilated into Camelot, and Leon was properly dealt with by having his knight rank taken away, and banished from the city. Merlin did feel sad that Leon had to leave, but he knew it was for the safety of other sorcerers and druids. Arthur had finally finished the piles of paperwork he had in his desk, and he was able to spread the new edicts throughout the land. Every village had a knight whom told them about the new edicts, and punishments. Merlin was currently walking around the market, buying some food from the vendors.

He had a basket full of food, and the day was going by normally. The sky was extremely cloudy, and the sun did not show. The cold weather had picked up a lot, so the farmers were eager to sell their food before it spoiled. A gust of wind blew, and Merlin felt extremely cold. He finished paying, and rushed back inside to bring Gaius the food. It has been awhile since he talked to Gaius.

"Hello Gaius. I just wanted to bring you some food." Merlin said as he walked in. He saw Gaius taking a break in a chair.

"Oh thank you Merlin. You can set those to the side." Gaius thanked. Merlin pulled up a chair to sit with him.

"Are you feeling alright Gaius? You look a little weary." Merlin asked.

"It's nothing. Just the cold season doesn't do anything positive for an old person like myself. I had Don go and deliver all the potions. I just needed to take a break." Gaius said. Merlin nodded.

"Have you taken a tonic? Or tried some invigoration spells?" Merlin asked. Gaius shook his head.

"You have to understand that it has taken me awhile to hone my magic abilities once more. That night I woke you up with a spell was just spurted out energy. I just need to practice some more until I can do alchemy." Gaius explained. Merlin nodded. He pulled out his pocket magic book from his old room, and brought it to the table. He liked to keep it there just in case. Merlin found some potions listed, and he started to make one for Gaius.

It was like a basic caffeine potion, with an added spell to make it last a day. Merlin handed it to Gaius, and he drank the disgusting liquid.

"Thank you Merlin." Gaius thanked. Someone knocked on the door.

"Come in." Merlin said. In walked a face that Merlin had not seen in a very long time. There stood a tan man, with dark hair, and an unforgettable smile. The last time he had seen him was when Merlin failed to make him a knight, and had to watch him leave.

"Lancelot!" Merlin exclaimed as he scrambled to hug him.

"Merlin! It's so good to see you!" Lancelot exclaimed happily. They hugged, but Lancelot separated.

"And what is with the all black fancy clothing? A little dated, but it looks nice." Lancelot asked.

"I have become a lord. And I am no longer Arthur's servant, but his second in command since he has no children." Merlin told him happily. Lancelot did notice a lot. For one, Merlin had a large scar on his neck, and the scars that used to peek out of his shirts no longer were there. And Merlin altogether looked less skinny, and his hair was longer.

"You have changed so much, I can't believe it. We have so much to catch up on." Lancelot said. Merlin agreed. Merlin said goodbye to Gaius since he had started to work again, and the two took a walk around the city. Merlin channeled some magic to keep the two of them warm as they walked.

"So where have you been living this whole time?" Merlin asked.

"In Cendred's kingdom. I have heard some rumors about the place. And since I have finally generated enough money to come here, I thought I would visit you." Lancelot explained.

"Well most of the rumors are probably true. Magic has been legalized and the caste system has been removed. Also homosexuality is allowed to become public. The liberation has seemed to have been just what the kingdom needed." Merlin informed Lancelot. He was truly amazed.

"So your whole destiny stuff worked out? Destiny is complete?" Lancelot asked.

"That destiny has been finished. But there's another destiny that arose. I know the vague details, and the outcome, but not the entire story. Hopefully I can stop the madness before it starts, or finish it quickly. Now that I'm allowed to be public with my powers, I can breath lighter." Merlin shared.

"So have you found yourself a lady yet? Settling down maybe?" Lancelot poked at Merlin. He kind of laughed awkwardly.

"Well I have found someone. Not a lady though." Merlin laughed awkwardly. Lancelot make a face of realization.

"That makes more sense. So who's the bloke?" Lancelot asked. Merlin stopped, and looked to the castle.

"Do you know who owns that castle as of right now?" Merlin asked, looking up. It took a couple moments for Lancelot to realize, and when he did, he gasped.

"No way! Really!" Lancelot exclaimed. Merlin chuckled and nodded. Lancelot playfully punched him in the arm.

"That's great. You really nailed yourself something. Are you two good together?" He asked. Merlin nodded.

"We've been together for months, and he still ceases to make me laugh. And he's a pretty good kisser." Merlin said amused. As the walked back to the castle, Arthur walks towards them.

"There you are. I've been looking around for you. And who is he? He seems familiar." Arthur said.

"This is Lancelot. He was the guy I tried to frame as a lords son to make a knight awhile ago. He just arrived today, so we were talking about what's been happening lately." Merlin explained.

"Wait is Gwen still living here?" Lancelot asked. Merlin pointed a house close to the castle.

"She lives right there. I believe today she isn't working." Merlin told her.

"I'll see you in a bit Merlin. I want to say hello." He told him as he ran to knock on her door.

Arthur gave Merlin and odd expression.

"Last time he was here, he fell in love with Gwen." Merlin told Arthur, which made sense.

"I wanted to talk to you about something serious. I can explain inside." Arthur told. Merlin nodded and followed him inside.

The two entered Arthur's room, and Merlin secured the door from any peepers.

"You know all of the spies that we had going undercover, right. We had 26 of them." Arthur said as he fumbled through stuff in his desk drawer. He retrieved a box.

"All of them stopped reporting a month ago. All around the same time. Just now, I received this." Arthur opened the box for Merlin to see inside. Inside were eyeballs, and on top, a note.

"The note read 'To my loving brother that has ceased to amaze me. You have successfully escaped Uther's grasp, and reached towards the light. But I do not do well to those who meddle in my business. I believe you are unfit to be the King of Camelot. Uther was wretched, and granted you are a lot better than him, you still show the characteristics of a tyrant. I cannot let such a person rule the future of Albion. So either step down, or be stepped on. I took one eye from each of your followers that have weeded into my circle of loyal friends. You won't want to see what their bodies looked like after I was done. Love Morgana.' And the signature was written in blood." Arthur read. Merlin looked at the eyeballs mortified.

"I counted them. 26 in total. She wasn't kidding." Arthur told him. Merlin paced around the room.

"How can she still do this? She wanted the destiny to come true, just like every other sorcerer and druid. You became an amazing king, and have legalized magic, yet she still wants more! All she's doing is taking what she wants. She never truly wanted a happy Albion, she just wants to rule it!" Merlin ranted as he walked around the room. Merlin was truly infuriated at the note. Not only had 26 people died, but Morgana has not decided to stop with her raids and murder.

"Calm down Merlin. We can work fight her. We may not have anymore intel, but we can certainly fight back. It is only a matter of time before she messes up." Arthur told Merlin calmly. Although Merlin just continued to rant and spew. Soon he started to mess the room up with his haywire magic.

"Merlin don't ruin the room please." Arthur asked. "How about we go to the training field? That can release your anger." Arthur suggested. Merlin cleaned the room, and stormed out of the quarters, with Arthur following along. As he walked out of the castle, Merlin passed Lancelot on his way to find Merlin. Before Lancelot could say anything, Merlin passed by and walked to the field.

"Where is he going?" Lancelot asked Arthur. Arthur just sighed.

"I kicked him out of my room so he wouldn't decimate it. He's angry at the moment." Arthur explained quickly. Lancelot quickly followed. The field has a large sum of men practicing fighting, and throwing knives.

Merlin walked into the middle of the field, and yelled out.

"If there are any knights that want to release any emotions into a fight, come to me. The more people the better." Merlin yelled out. Eagerly, a couple of knights who did not like Merlin, and a couple of others grabbed swords, and walked to Merlin. They immediately started to attack, and Merlin fought back.

Merlin used all the safe magic he had in him, to fight the knights, and he disarmed one. Merlin continued to fight sword to sword, him against 15 or so knights. Merlin got scratched up here and there, but the adrenaline rush was too strong.

Arthur and Lancelot just watch on the sidelines as Merlin fought strong through the many knights.

"I have never seen him that angry before." Arthur commented.

"Neither have I." Lancelot agreed.

At one point of the battle, some of the knights threw their swords to the side, and just started to tackled Merlin, throwing punches. Merlin fought back quick marvelously, as he wasn't holding a lot back. Now if he wanted to throw them all in the air, he could, but that would mean the fight was over, and Merlin just wanted to release steam.

"He's been getting out of hand since his coma. Merlin said that it would take awhile for his senses to readjust." Arthur told Lancelot. He just nodded and watched.

After the fight went on for another 15 minutes, the knights grew slower in their attempts as their strength depleted. Merlin was then able to successfully able to finish them all of, and he was the last one standing. Gwain clapped from the side line on the other side of the field.

"Good job Merlin. Do you feel better?" Gwain asked Merlin. Merlin nodded his head while panting from the physical exertion of it all. Some of his clothes had holes in them, and he had a pretty nice bruise on his cheekbone. Merlin just let his magic wash over his body, and he healed himself perfectly.

"Do you need to fight more?" Gwain asked, flipping a knife around. Merlin shook his head.

"Want to throw some knives with me?" He asked. Merlin gladly took the knife, and threw it at the targets. Gwain found amusement in the times where some people didn't. He personally loved seeing Merlin rage, as he was able to fight very well. Plus Gwain was able to join in.

Both of them threw the knives at the distant targets while some other knights helped the injured ones to their feet. Merlin could heal them, but he felt the satisfaction of leaving bruises on the knights. He thought it was fair.

After awhile of throwing knives, Arthur retrieved Merlin, and they walked back to the castle. Lancelot sort of dispersed into the crowd.

"You won't ruin my room, correct?" Arthur asked as they walked back to his quarters.

"I'm sorry for that Arthur. I've been holding that in for almost a year now. Morgana just infuriates me so much." Merlin apologized.

"It's alright. I understand. But next time try not to disable my knights. We are in a war, and I need them physically capable of fighting." Arthur joked.

They sat around the table, and thought of strategies. They knew that new spies would be a waste of time. Most likely Morgana knew of the spies for a long time, and probably got some information out of them.

They planned for awhile, and then called it a night. Merlin retired to his room. He laid the special stone from Ethel on his nightstand just as usual, and fell asleep.
