He doesn’t deserve to live with her with her miserable life, the thought lingered inside Jung Kate’s mind as she goes through the crowd in the hall, hugging her books she kept cramming about all night for the quizzes today.
She felt so bad rejecting the chance to become happy with someone she likes. Especially, the guy being Yoongi, whom she's always dreamed of going out with.
“Oh, look who’s here.”
“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”
“The teacher’s pet has arrived, everyone.”
Kate clearly heard everything. She was used to it; not having friends other than the people in Beyond the Scene and Rosé. Then again, people still couldn’t move on from the issue with her brother. And now, people were trying to assume she's psychotic, a future killer; no one dared to come near her. Teasing her she might burn them someday.
There’s also a problem of people knowing she’s the daughter of one of their professors, thus another so-called reason to continuously harass her in such manners. Mr. and Mrs. Jung knew nothing of this, she didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Other than with Yoongi. People might target him if they were to be seen together. Kate wouldn't want that.

“Oops!” One of the girls coming her way pretended to have accidentally kicked her by the leg. “Sorry. Guess you have to plan on our death show soon.” Her friends laughed along, earning a high five for just doing that.
Meanwhile, she stayed put and de-cluttered her stuff to make it seem she was deaf to their threats.
Until Yoongi came by.
"Kate, can we please talk about that night?"
Kate’s eyes widened in surprise; witnessing through her peripheral vision of the others looking their way, already murmuring about that guy, is that her boyfriend? Oh, man, this is bad news. Another psycho will be born. All she could hear was mockery and laughter.
“Please, go away.”
Yoongi could sense something was up, so he grabbed her gently by the wrist, gesturing her to talk to him privately. Surprisingly, she did.
"Care to tell me what’s going on?"
"What do you want me to say?" Nobody was around, Kate can act freely like herself in front of him now. "I'm sorry for rejecting you?"
"No," it hurt him. But seeing how she's acting in this situation, somehow he felt something was troubling her. "I want you to be honest with me, morelike."
Kate was not the type to scoff when she's embarrassed, rather, she takes it all into account; how they would both feel before finally releasing constructed thoughts. "People look down on me. They. . they see my brother in me."
"What do you mean?"
"They think of me as someone psychotic. That I’d burn them all, too, someday in the same beach house where. . . where it happened. . ." Kate felt like hugging herself, feeling the cold and the goosebumps at remembering how he died. "But I- I'm not like that."
"Then stop listening to them." Easier said than done. "I went through something similar to this and I've become shitty because of it. I know you, Jung Kate." Yoongi caresses her cheek, quite hesitantly since it was the first time he touched hers. "If you're afraid of dating me, I accept that. But if you think I'm going to be affected easily by something as petty as what those bastards are saying to you— you're wrong."
Kate bit her lower lip, trying to keep herself from crying. She's kept all this to herself all this time; Yoongi was the first she bursted out to. She ended up in his arms, giving in to him.
