Deadly Darkness || Chapter Twenty Eight || Revived.

Ps. To Clear Any Confusion This Is Before She Was Blinded. Ie. she can see.

Blink.

Blink, blink.

Darkness.

Why was she in darkness? Had the maids forgotten to light the lamps? They had never forgotten before, maybe something was the matter.

Kristina scrambled across the cold harsh stone if her floor towards the door, a tiny gap of light had slipped through.

Although she wasn't afraid of the dark she didn't like being in the cold void of darkness. With tiny hands she reached up and unlocked her door, sile as a mouse Kristina peaked her head out, eyes darting in all direction.

Her heart stuttered in fear when she caught sight of a body but regained calmness once she relished it was just a sleeping guard.

On her hands and knees Kristina crawled passed the sleeping fellow careful not to cause any disturbance, she could afford to get in any more trouble she was already grounded.

When Kristina was sure she was far enough away from the guard she leaped up onto her feet and rushed through the corridors mindful to keep an ear out for anyone nearby that was still awake.

A huge grin slipped onto her face when she reached her destination, her favourite place in the castle; the kitchen.

With hundreds of people that lived in the pack food had to be in abundance. No one would go hungry here with six fully stocked fridges, a pantry the size of a small room filled.

It was Kristina's heaven.

She pulled a chocolate cupcake from the fridge and sat underneath the kitchen counter right in the middle so she wouldn't be seen by anyone from any angle of the room.

Just when she had finished the last morsel footsteps headed in her direction alerted her, she sat frozen unsure and scared of who was coming. It was either the night guards, a pack member or someone from her family all of which would march her up to her parents.

She could get away with almost anything as the only girl but after offending a councilmen last week she didn't have a hope to grasp upon if she was caught.

Kristina remained still as someone entered the kitchen followed by three other people, she knew they were men because they were so heavy footed.

She was thankful she had thought to block her scent before they had come in or she was certain she would have been caught red hand, or chocolate handed.

"Put it down on the kitchen bench" a gruff voice commanded, Kristina's eyebrows gathered closer at she tried to remember who the voice belonged to but cane up empty handed.

Who could it be?

A loud bang vibrated the table as something was dropped harshly upon the table.

"Why did have to dig up that body, it was only freshly buried?" another man asked.

A 'slap'ing sound echoed the room,"we get paid to do the job not ask questions fuckface!" the leader growled.

Kristina's eyes shot opened wide completely shocked at his uses of such naughty words, she had to restrain herself from comprising her position to tell the rude man that swearing was bad and she would get one her brothers to wipe his mouth with soap.

"Didn't have to slap me, damn" the dummy head said softy under his breath.

"Right we leave the body here right?"

Body? Who's? Why ever would there be a body here.

Fear gripped her body as she wished to have one of her big brothers come hold her tight.

It then clicked into her young mind what had earlier been said, they had dug up a corpse.

Yicky!

Terror gripped her so tightly she couldn't even think to call for help though the mindlink, she didn't even care if she got in trouble for being out of her room this later.

The man with the gruff voice clearly the organizer of this whole shebang told the bickering two to shot up and move the body to the dinning room ad it would be easier.

What would be easier? she couldn't help but wonder.

One of the pulled what had been confirmed as a body of the table and into the dinning room, which she would have to pass through to get back to the halls and essential her room.

Quite the mission.

Once she was absolutely sure they were distracted in the dinning room she crept out and slide carefully onto to the floor with her mind on autopilot.

When she reached th door she was ever grateful the the door had never made a noise and that it was a swinging door.

Kristina peaked her head out from behind the door and caught her first sight of the men. The two that had dug up the body were dirty, covered head to toe in muck. They both needed a food wash desperately. The looked as if to be related both having blond hair, green eyes and a similar body build.

The leader was the opposite of them all refined in a tailored dark navy suit, hair slicked back with seemingly soulless black eyes.

Sure they weren't going to catch her she crawled to behind some furniture that had been set of to the side, incase they ever need extra chairs or tables.

Her foot banged against a chair causing it to knock over and her to still.

"What was that" Dummy asked his head flickering in her direction.

"Nothing, unwrap the body and you'll get your payment then you can leave" Leader said.

"Right, help me"

Both of the untidy men reaches over and did as commanded and left the body bare for all to see.

In the second the Kristina's eyes locked with the cold dead ones of the man's she felt her emotion abandon her, she was certain if they hadn't she would have screamed the building down in fright.

Kristina couldn't move she was frozen still eyeing the dead body.

Once the men had completed their assigned jobs and collect a heavy looking bag, no doubt filled with money, they left.

The two remaining, breathing people stayed in silence for what seemed like hours which was probably only minutes until Leader begun to move again.

Leader stepped up to the dead man and rolled up his sleeves and raised his hands over the man's head and heart.

Fast chants left his mouth his hands staying where they had started off, as if pushing energy into him.

Kristina's couldn't believe her young eyes as the previously dead man sat up ramrod straight gasping for long lost air.

Her mind couldn't handle it and she passed out with one single thought,

That the dead man was,

"Revived"
