Deadly Darkness || Chapter Three || Vanished In The Night.

Kristina six years old.

Kristina had done nothing but await her death for the last year but she wouldn't go along with that any longer she had to make her move.

The last year she had spent learning th basic she would need to survive with her disability, such as read, writing and how to not run into walls.

It had been no easy feat after living five whole years with her sight and then for it to suddenly disappear was definitely a shock to the system.

With the cloak around her head she walked to where she  knew her guards and she suppose only friends were; the guard's kitchen and small dinnering room. Kristina stepped through and like any other time she enter a room it went silent, even if it had been a year everyone was still unsure how to act around her. She was such a petite person so with the cloak around her it made people drawn to her, wondering what lay below.

"Thomas, Gray I believe it is your shifts and want to go outside you may bring your food" she said in a emotionlessly and neutral voice before turning around and trekking out of the room without seeing if they were following her, they always did.

She cared for them she truly did but she didn't want anyone to know so she made everyone think that she only tolerate them, everything and anyone she cared about always got hurt she just wasn't willing to risk it.

Kristina led them into the Deathly Maze - a man's body had been found just a week previously - she knew it like the back of her hand. Thomas and Gray trusted her enough that if they stayed with her they wouldn't get lost or worse... killed.

Once seated on the rather large stone bench which was covered in mold and winding leaves she proceeded to ask "I what you both to train me, I trust you both more then anybody in this very castle, I trust you with my life. And I trust you will not break what is given to you. Will you?" She said staring unseeingly straight into their eyes.

Both the guards were shocked beyond belief, they had never thought that they would have gained the princess' fragile trust. She was so closed off and nobody could get a read on her, she was a mystery no one could solve and for her to trust them was mind-blowing.

Without really think it through they both answer a firm "yes".

That's when her training had begun.

Eight years old.

Kristina had found the secret passage ways through the castle when she had accidentally walked into a wall when she heard her parents coming and she had tried to run.

She felt around her she seemed to be in a tight tunnel it was barely wide enough to fit her small body in, Kristina could feel the cobwebs she ran into when ever she moved it had obviously not been used in a long time, perhaps it was even forgotten.

"They called again he wants to know how she is doing," her mother, Queen Annabell's said from what appeared to the room next to her, by the other foot steps she could tell it was her father accompanying her.

"Peter and Riley" Kristina's other guards "have reported that she has been doing nothing but sitting out in the gardens and reading in the library" they stop in front of the doors to her fathers study just to the right of where Kristina was. They walked in and sat down in what Kristina had always thought was a soundproof room.

"They want us to make it look she had an accident and she died" her father told.

"When? I hate having her here we should of killed her when she was born".

"I agree with you dear she had brought us nothing but trouble, a worthless use of a soul. As regards to your question they want it done on her thirteen birthday something to do with the year if I remember correctly. I think they what to use her for a ritual or maybe just to kill her themselves".

The uncaring tone hit home, even after all they had done she had still had a small sliver of hope that they would love her again. With his words she had lost it all. Tears welled up and stung her eyes but she never let a single drop, she would never let the be the cause and reason for her tears they didn't deserve them.

They wanted her dead, the never wanted so see her again, just you wait she thought, just you wait. If they didn't care then she wouldn't either. Screw the world.

Ten years old.

"We have nothing more to teach you princess" Thomas said she could hear bowing his head slightly

"How many times have I told you that you don't have to call me princess or bow to me I am anything but a princess. I haven't been a princess for many years and would never want to be one again. I was so naïve" the last part a whisper only she could her.

"Freaky" Gray muttered under his breath, he could never seem to get over how she could see through hearing even though it had been five years. She could tell he stood slouched he weight mostly on his left leg as he swung a large sword around in his arm. He wasn't wearing his training uniform for there was a lack of chain metal clashing as he moved. She loved his reactions when she told him this like kid watching magic for the first time, amazed but a little bit afraid.

Thomas and Gray had been Kristina's guards since the Blinding and had watched her grow being the parents and siblings she had been deprived of after the tragic event.

The king and queen had forbidden anyone from associating with her - though nobody had really wanted to.

They had both watched her cry her soul out after her cloak had been ripped off in the pack meeting - the first time anybody had seen her without it.

She had been eleven and her mate had rejected her, normal a death sentence for both involved the rejected mate would die and the rejecter would be charge and put to death, if they hadn't killed themselves before. It was impossible to live without your mate but Kristina and mates mating had been drastically different, Kristina being a royal didn't die and nobody really cared about her enough to put her mate to trial. It all wasn't fair, but then again life was never fair.

Twelve years old.

It was another All packs meeting Kristina sat at her normal seat next to Grey- three seats down from her parents who sat at the head of the table. Seven years, it had been seven years. She brought the spoon up to her lips and took a sip of the soup almost absentmindedly as she thought. It had take years for her to be able to control her senses enough that she wouldn't have a bleed noses when someone shouted.

Kristina answer the alpha's question" her mother said.

Her head shot up it was the first time her mother had willing and at her own accord talked to her since she was five.

"I asked how have you been?" The visiting alpha asked again shockingly his voice was not harsh.

"Very well Alpha Mission and you?" with politeness, if he was then she would.

"Much the same, pardon me if this in intrusive but I wonder how do you cope with your..." condition hung heavy in the air even if he hadn't asked it. Surprisingly he had been the first - other then her guards - to ask that.

Deciding to humor him she answered knowing everybody was listening "It was very hard at first with the lose of my sight my other sense increased so much it took months to be able to go outside and be in a crowd."

"Interesting" he mused "How far are they developed now?"

Suddenly wanting a laugh she did what she always did to Gray, she focused on the heat, heart beats, sounds and smells - her way of seeing "I can see with my hearing. Twenty-two seats down to the right on your side is Mr. Daniel Level he wearing rings on each finger he hasn't stop eating since he came in and hasn't shower in at least three days." Pausing she felt heat waver of his form "And he is currently blushing.

"Eight seats from you is your Beta's son he has a book under the table and was reading it ever time his father turned his back. Smart kid. He is nineteen good muscles and messy hair from him running his hand through his hair.

"Alpha you have your hands in your palms elbows on the table your hair is slicked back with non scented gel. Your shoes are combat boots and you wear a single necklace around your neck it holds importance to you, your never without it

"If that's all you need I'll be retiring to my room" she left them stunned as she exited.

This was what she'd been waiting for she had waited and buyed her time might as well leave them with something to remember.

That was the last time anybody ever saw the princess.

She has simply
