2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma

(This is my 2010 Tacoma SR5 V6  TRD Sport with 4wd in the picture)

With the success of the Tacoma up to 2004 Toyota decided to update the truck. The 2nd Gen Tacoma is a little bigger then the first Gen and it has a lot more options. The truck came with 2 engine options instead of 3 like the previous Gen. The first engine option is the 2.7L 2TR-FE I4 with 159hp and 180 lb-ft of torque and the second engine option is the 4.0L 1GR-FE V6 with 236hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. It came with 4 transmission options. For the 2wd models they came with a 4-speed A340E automatic transmission, 5-speed A750E automatic transmission, 5-speed R155 manual transmission and a 6-speed RA60 manual transmission. For the 4WD models they came with a 4-speed A340F automatic transmission, 5-speed A750F automatic transmission, 5-speed R155F manual transmission only for the I4 and a 6-speed RA60F manual transmission only for the V6 X-Runner. They had 5 trim options for the truck. The trims were the base, SR5, SR5 V6, TRD Sport and the TRD Off-Road. The TRD Sport was made for road traveling with the clearance to off road as well. The TRD Off-Road was made specifically for off road use it came with Billstine Shocks and was about a inch higher then the other models.
This updated version of the truck kept the Tacoma as the best selling mid-sized truck on the market. It was the reason Ford stoped making the Ranger and Chevy stoped making the Colorado.
