Chapter 1

The trees seemed to tower over Harley as he walked, his boots breaking sticks like glass under a rock. It was a nice forest, a bit cold for him though.

His hand slipped into the bag on his shoulder and pulled out the scroll, staring at it.

"How do I work this...?" Harley trailed off with a confused look. His eyebrows raised when a bunch of words appeared on the side.

Slit your human thumb on the knife like end and smear it on the paper to read everything. -Shinigami

Harley obeyed the words of the scroll and waited for the magic that would appear. The scroll suddenly shot out of his hand and traveled into the air, unravelling enough to almost cover three trees worth of paper.

Harley held out a hand, grabbing the top of the scroll. He began to read with raised eyebrows.

"This scroll length is only for a moment until you've finished reading and except the ways of this world. There is a energy called chakra that powers this entire world, once you read this paragraph you will feel the major punch of chakra forcing its way into your system-"

Harley choked as he collasped, dry heaving. He almost coughed up his lungs when a strange energy filled his body. It ran along next to his veins and seemed to try and force his Ghost Rider side away.

That only caused more pain as both the energy; chakra as it was named, and the Ghost Rider seemed to duke it out for Harley.

"Oh, right. I should've realised that your other side hated anything trying to take over its territory," The Shinigami appeared before Harley, who had actually managed to cough up his stomach. "You might need that."

The Shinigami lifted a clothed foot and kicked Harley's stomach back into his body. The Shinigami also managed to force the chakra out, as it appeared in a puddle beneath Harley's face in a calm blue.

Harley was ready to heave up his stomach once more at the sight.

"Sorry about that."

"So, the Bijū's cave?"

"They are just children right now. So do not make enemies of them because they can and will hold the grudge for centuries."

Harley gulped, his eyes wide as he stared into the dark cave. If he wanted to then he could light his hand on fire but he'd have to be careful. Especially since the Ghost Rider did not seem like anything chakra and the Bijū were made out of it.

The Shinigami disapeared with a dramatic puff of smoke, leaving Harley alone.

A breath of air left him as he stepped into the cave, lighting his hand of fire along the way. His heart slammed into his chest while he walked farther and farther into the cave.

"Do you hear that, Kurama-Nii?"

Harley froze at the childish voice. It somehow managed to make him freeze.

"Hey, there's a light!"

"It's fire..."

Harley automatically lit most of his body on fire. The cave seemed to glow with the orange fire that fell off of Harley.

"W-What's that!?" A giant turtle yelled in fear as more animals appeared behind the fox next to the turtle.

Harley left his head not alight. It managed to freak the animals out even more.

"Good evening," Harley awkwardly greeted. "My name is Harley and I have been sent here to care for you..."

"By who...?" Another human asked with a cold voice and glare. Harley almost fainted at the third eye on his forehead and the horns out of his forehead.

"The Shinigami. I am the Ghost Rider of universe #957..." Harley trailed off. "I've been Ghost Rider for thirteen years and am the twentieth incarnation of the angel of vengance but I am not the reincarnation... it is complicated."

The man with horns nodded along as the giant animals crowded around the horned man. Large tails ranging from one to nine flared up behind each.

"Well, that is rather eventful, is it not?" The horned man murmered. "My name is Otsutsuki Hagoromo."

Harley held out a hand to shake. Hagoromo raised an eyebrow at it. "It's a handshake... you hold my hand and shake it... it is polite." Harley explained.

Hagoromo nodded and shook Harley's hand.

"So, you can turn into a flaming skeleton...?" The giant fox with nine tails asked. Harley almost lost his-- after many years-- beating heart at tue giant fox staring him down.

"Y-Yes... like I said, I am the current Ghost Rider. Although I would not be surprised if Mephistopheles decided to add another to the long chain," Harley trailed off with a nervous smile.

"My name is Shukaku!" An energetic sand dog--from Harley's point of view-- leaped into Harley's face with it's only tail wagging like an excited puppy.

"Nice to meet you, Shukaku."

Hagoromo sent a small glare to Harley. "You forgot your manners on your way here, didn't you?"

Harley blinked.

"I-I'm sorry...?" Harley trailed off as he began getting glared at.

"Suffixes. You forgot them, Harley-Ba." All of the living beings in the cave jumped at the sudden appearance of the Shinigami.

"A-Ah... sorry, Shukaku-San." Harley apologised with a sheepish smile.

"It's fine! You can call me Shukaku, especially since you feel better about and I already feel like you're family, even though you are human and from another universe and species but I do not mind since like I said you are family and-"

Harley stood above the mountain that held the Bijū's cave, watching the sky. A small form appeared next to him, Kurama, as Harley's eyes travelled to the moon.

"Otou-San has passed."

"I know. Me and the Ghost could smell the death..."

Kurama laid his head on Harley's lap, sniffling. Harley began to stroke Kurama's head.

"Will you stay close by...?"

"I will try. But by the Shinigami's orders, I must continue my duty as the Ghost Rider."

A few more forms appeared, all sniffling or crying. The Bijū all crowded around Harley, Shukaku laying in his hair.

"Even if..." Shukaku sniffed as tears fell down his face. "You only knew us for a few days... you feel like a big brother..."

Harley almost began to cry with them but stayed silent. Gyuki crouched next to Harley's feet, his tentacles wrapping around Harley's right foot for comfort. "Will... will we get nice Jinjuuriki...?"

"You'll go through many years of pain." Was all that Harley said.

All of the Bijū flinched at the statement.

"But... you'll find Jinjuuriki who will respect and care for you, all you have to do is wait. It may take years apon years of hatred," Harley sent a glance to Kurama. "-pain," Shukaku flinched. "-and all out war for your powers."

"What's the moral-?" Son Goku snapped.

"Each of you will get an amazing Jinjuuriki. Even if I have to take in as my own Bijū."

"B-But the Ghost Rider doesn't like chakra!" Chomei yelled in a small sense of panic. Harley would suffer great amounts of pain if he did such a thing.

"It is my job to protect the innocent and punish the cruel. If I did not suffer at least once, then what kind of spirit of vengance would I be?"
