Harry was sitting in the living room of the firestation with Liam , they both couldn't sleep . They were both on the phone with Louis and Niall , talking quietly .

"How was you day ?" Louis asked , Harry smiled at his soft , tired voice , "It was okay . Nothing major so far . We had a dumpster in the morning , and a few hours ago another team went to put out a tree . How was yours ?"

"Honestly , tiring . I just got out of shower , Niall and I had a double shift today . I'm exhausted ."

"Well then I won't hold you back , get some sleep . I'll come say hello in the morning ."

"Hm , okay . Night Hazza ."

"Good night Angel , love you ."

"Love you too ."

They hung up , Harry smiled at his phone and put it down . He turned his head to Liam , who was still on the phone with Niall .

"No you hang up . Come on , hang up . No you ." Liam smiled , "Okay on three . One , two , three ." He waited , a few seconds later he laughed , "I thought you'd hang up !"

"Just hang up already , lovebirds ." Harry said , loud enough for Niall to hear aswell .

A few minutes later they hung up , Harry tsked , "And you say Louis and I are a cheesy couple ."

"Shut it , Styles ." Liam rolled his eyes playfully , "Well i'm heading to bed , good night ."

"Good night , lovebird ." Harry teased , Liam flipped him off and walked up the stairs to the bedrooms .

Harry sighed and leaned his head on the back of the couch , bored out of his mind . Five minutes didn't pass before the alarm went off .

"Code white , house on fire , two people trapped inside ."

Harry ran up to get his black Amber suit , and a deja-vu hit him . He shook it off and ran to the firetruck with Liam and Oli following close behind . Oli got into the driver's seat , he turned it on and asked on what street the house is .

Harry and Liam got their suits and oxygen tanks on while Oli drove , as soon as they reached they were half relieved that the house was one story instead of two .

Oli parked the truck as close as he could to the house while the police backed people away , Harry and Liam jumped out of the truck , Liam grabbed a tool to help them break down the front door with minimum damage .

Soon the door opened , Liam went to put the tool back in the truck while Harry walked into the house . It was hot in there , he started walking around the house . The couch was on fire , along with the carpet . The dining table and chairs aswell .

"Is anyone in here ?!" He called , when he didn't get an answer he started walking towards the bedrooms . Liam soon joined him and they separated into rooms .

Harry walked into a random room , seeing a yound girl , maybe nine years old , sitting on her bed and clutching a stuffed toy while she cried . He approached her , "Hey it's okay , I've got you . I'll get you out of here , okay ?"

"I want my daddy ." She cried , Harry nodded , "He's waiting for you outside , let's go see him ." He held his arms open , she wrapped her limbs around him and let him carry her out . He put one arm around her body , the other shielding her head .

Soon they were out , Harry gave her to a paramedic . The young girl fisted his suit , "Wait ! My puppy is inside ! Please save him !"

Harry nodded , "I will ." He turned back into the house just as Liam walked out with the father . He approached him , "There's no one inside , let's put it out ."

"Not yet , the girl said her dog is inside ." Harry said , Liam nodded , "Make it quick , I don't think the house will be able to stand another few minutes ."

Harry nodded and quickly walked back into the house . Things were worse now , so he had to get down on his knees to search for the dog . He didn't find it in the kitchen , the living room , he tried the bedrooms , but the dog wasn't there . The house didn't have a basement or attic , so he had to search for it again .

Harry started panicking a little when the house started going down . It started slowly . A few pieces from the ceiling fell down , so he quickened his search . Soon enough he found the dog , hiding under the armchair in the corner of the living room . Luckily it was small so he lifted it up in his arms , but was startled by a piece from the ceiling falling right infront of him .

He started making his way out of the house , but was knocked off his feet when a piece from the ceiling fell on his head , which was protected by the helmet . He cradled the dog in his hands and stood back up , now noticing that his oxygen tank has ran out of oxygen . He quickly ripped the mask from his face , so he won't suffocate .

He coughed when he inhaled the smoke and tried making his way out again , but was knocked down by a burst of fire . He lied on his front , keeping the dog under him to protect him . He felt dizzy but kept himself awake . The dog was whining from under his chest , which made Harry feel bad for it .

He tried forcing himself up , "No more losing lives ." He mumbled to himself before coughing roughly , falling back to the floor in dizziness

Liam burst into the house with their shift commander , they quickly spotted Harry and rushed over to him , helping him out of the house .

Paul gave the call to start putting the house out as they rushed Harry towards the ambulance . Harry handed the dog first , a medic took it from him and passed it to the young girl , sitting with her father inside one of the ambulances .

Paul helped Harry take his suit off , "Why the hell did you insist on staying in there for a dog ?"

Harry caught his breath back a few seconds later . "No more losing lives ."

Paul sighed , "Is it because of the house fire a few months ago ?"

"We lost seven lives ."

"We couldn't have done anything , so stop arguing . Get in the ambulance for a check up ." Paul helped him into the ambulance , watching as one of the medics put an inhalation mask on his face .

Liam approached Paul , "I think he needs a talk with Louis ."

Paul nodded , "I'll make sure he gets to the station . Give me the address ."

Three hours later the house was put out , the firefighters put the equipment back in the trucks and drove back to the station (there were three teams) .

Paul stopped by the Horan's house to get Louis , he knocked on the door , feeling slightly bad since it's three , almost four a.m a.m .

Bobby opened the door and turned on the porch light , "Hello ."

"Hey , I'm sorry for the late hour . I'm Paul Higgins , a shift commander at the Fire Department . I'm here for Louis , Harry Styles asked to see him . It's an emergency ."

Bobby nodded , "Sure , I'll go wake him up ." He walked up the stairs and opened the door to the guest bedroom , shaking Louis awake . As soon as he was given the information he dressed quickly , running down the stairs .

Paul gave him a smile , "Let's go ."

Ten minutes later they reached the station , Paul led Louis in and up to the rooms , where Harry was with Liam .

Liam gave Louis a smile and walked out of the room to give them privacy . Louis walked up to Harry and sat next to him , "Hey ."

"Hi ." Harry replied , still looking at his hands . Louis bit his lower lip and held his hand , "Look at me ."

Harry looked up at him , Louis caressed his cheek , "Can you tell me what happened that I'm here at four a.m ?"

Harry sighed and leaned his head on Louis' shoulder , explaining the whole story . Louis listened quietly , playing with his fingers .

"I just - I wanted to do something . I needed to ."

"You could've gotten seriously hurt in there , Hazza . Sometimes you can't do anything ."

"I can try ."

"Not if trying will hurt you severely ."

Harry sighed , "I couldn't just sit back and let the dog burn to death , you know ."

"I know , but you could've thought of better ways to get him out alive , rather than making both of you almost die ."

Harry lifted his head up and cupped Louis' cheek softly , "Baby , this is my job . I risk my life here . If I don't , then what kind of firefighter am I ?"

"A wise one ."

Harry bit his lower lip , leaning to kiss Louis' lips , "I promise not to do anything like this again ."

"Good . Because if you ever hurt yourself I don't know what I would do ." Louis leaned into his chest , Harry hugged him closer , "I promise to be more careful ."

Louis smiled against his shoulder , "Okay . I'll go home now , I'm exhausted ."

"I'll ask Paul if I can drive you ." Harry nodded , they got up from the bed and walked out of the room .

"You okay now ?" Paul asked , Harry nodded , "Yeah . Can I drive Louis home ?"

Paul nodded and handed him the car keys , "Go ahead , be back as soon as possible ."

Harry nodded and thanked him , he intertwined his and Louis' hands and led him down . 

Soon they reached the house , they got out of the car and hugged .

"I'll come over in the morning , okay ?" Harry said against his hair , Louis nodded , "Sure , but I'll most likely be asleep ." He giggled a little .

"Then I'll cuddle you until you wake up ." Harry pulled back a little and kissed his lips , "Have a good night Angel . For real this time ."

Louis laughed , "Good night Hazza . Sleep well ."

Harry pulled him in for another kiss , smiling at his soft giggles . They pulled back , Louis pecked Harry's cheek and walked into the house .

"I want you up and fresh in the next shift ." Paul patted Harry's shoulder , Harry nodded , "Of course . Have a good day , sir ." He waved and walked out of the station .

Liam led Harry to his car , "Take care , mate ."

"You too ." Harry gave him a smile and got into his car , sighing out . He stopped by his house to shower , change his clothes and feed Stone , before driving to Louis' . 

He knocked on the door , Maura opened it with a smile , "Good morning , come in ."

"Good morning ." He smiled and walked in , "I know Louis is still asleep but I told him yesterday that I'll just join him until he wakes up ."

"Sure , go ahead . If you need anything feel free to ask ." Maura smiled , Harry nodded and walked up the stairs to Louis' room .

He walked in quietly , cooing when he found Louis bundled up under the sheets . He kicked his shoes off and got in next to him , spooning him .

Louis subconsciously shuffled back and cuddled closer , making Harry smile and lean down to peck his cheek .
