I walked the paths today

For the first time in a while,

Letting the gentle breeze

And the spring-time sun

Surround me,

Letting the coolness

Cling to my fingers

And the heat float

About my chest,

Feeling the warm-clammy weather

Embrace me

And awaken

New possibilities.

Then the sun set

Below the earth's horizon,

And the wind blew

Just a little stronger

And the chill hung

Heavy in the air,

Reminding me

That I had to wait

For just a little longer.
