The Beginning

Eva Potter panted, her entire body shaking as she stared at the handsome teenager in front of her, Ginny Weasley dying by her side. Tom Riddle smirked. "It's over Potter. You can probably feel the poison, coursing through your veins at this very moment, can't you?" Eva looked at the diary in her hands, and suddenly... Got an idea. Pulling the fang from her arm and ignoring the sheer pain, she raised it in the air. Tom tried to stop her, but could only cry out in agony as she stabbed the stupid diary, over and over again until he was gone.

Fawkes landed by her, hopping closer. "H-hey..." She croaked, swallowing hard. Her vision was starting to blur. "C-can you get Ginny b-back to the hospital wing, please?" She asked, struggling to stay awake. The Phoenix seemed to nod and was gone in a flash of fire, Ginny being taken with him. Eva nearly collapsed but kept herself upright through sheer stubbornness, looking at the basilisk. Huh... Guess she did save a damsel in distress.

After a few moments, Fawkes had returned, but he had Hedwig with him, confusing the preteen. "W-wha-"
He didn't stop, Hedwig landing carefully on her lap as his talons gripped her shoulder and he set himself aflame. Girl, owl and Phoenix all vanished, with nary a trace left in the chamber.

Fawkes knew this was a long shot. But Dumbledore had gone too far with the child of prophecy. And no, not that prophecy that silly drunkard made. A different one. And Dumbledore's ineptitude would see her killed before her 18th birthday. So Fawkes was interfering, making certain she would be able to stay alive to follow her destiny... Whatever destiny she chose. So, he returned her to his home... In the world of Azeroth.

He already knew she would change, even if it wasn't because of her mother. She was related to the Blacks, and the Blacks had mixed with some of the Night Elves, centuries ago. The result was that they were powerful druids, while they were still practicing that magic. Sadly, being cut off from nature and the wild magic drove them all insane. Well, most of them. Sirius Black had unintentionally started healing his magic while helping his Worgen friend.

The Phoenix crooned down at the girl as he landed in the pool of glowing water, the goddess of the moon hearing his mental calls and answering them. The child's wounds started to heal.... Then it went terribly wrong. The soul fragment in her scar reacted badly to the magic, to the point of drawing upon the magic it had been able to corrupt and opening a portal to escape and hopefully take over the host.

Fawkes cried out in dismay, wanting to leap and flame to her. But Elune stopped him. "Calm yourself, Fireborn. She will be fine. She needs to have this fight, and must survive it to grow stronger."

"She is a child! She is my child, my chosen one! I care not for your tests!" Fawkes retorted bitterly, shaking his feathers out and transforming into his other form, that of a rather handsome blood elf, with red and gold hair. He scowled up at the moon. "She is my descendant, my only descendant now. I swear to you, if she dies Elune-"

"She will not." Elune interrupted, cutting off her counterpart. Fireborn scowled. "You do not know that. She is lost in the Twisting Nether now! The Legion could kill her, torture her. I tired of your blind optimism in your champions. Or do you not recall what happened last time?" Elune stayed silent, proving his point. He scoffed and attempted to find Eva, his frown growing darker as he couldn't find her soul. "If she dies Elune... So do you." He said coldly, taking to his Phoenix form once more and flaming away, attempting to track her down. He made certain Hedwig would be able to track him.

Eva groaned a bit, feeling the heavy weight of the Sword of Gryffindor by her side as she sat up. Where was she? Why was it so dark? The girl groaned and stood up carefully, looking over herself.

She managed not to scream when she saw her skin was a pale, creamy ivory color. And that she had long pointy ears. And longer hair. She stared at the almost blue hair for several long moments before shaking her head and looking around again. All she could see was rocks and.. green lava? Weird. Maybe it was a magic thing? She started walking, holding the sword carefully as she did so. Something about this place creeped her out.

Her instincts proved to be accurate when something attacked her. She managed to use the sword to hold off the shade, her eyes huge. It was Voldemort, only he looked demonic, green fire and purple shadow making up his body. "I will kill you potter! You will be mine!" He snarled, trying to use the green fire on her. Something within her reacted and her magic exploded out of her, destroying the weak soul fragment.

But her magical explosion acted as a beacon for the demons in the Twisting Nether. And as a mere child, she would not survive, no matter how well she could use the sword. The sheer numbers were starting to overwhelm her when they arrived.  She heard shouts, then something grabbed her and dashed away. Eva looked up, seeing the horns and felfire and acted, still running on adrenaline and in fight mode.

Illidan Stormrage was amused at her attempts to fight him, easily twisting the sword out of her grip as he and his Illidari retreated, heading back to their camp. The Night Elf.... or Blood Elf? child was still struggling in his grip, but that was fading as the magical exhaustion set in. By the time they arrived at camp she was about to pass out, completely drained. "Rest." He rumbled, keeping an eye on her as she finally went limp.

So, how did a mere child end up in the Twisting Nether? One that had quite a bit of magic at that, judging by that arcane explosion earlier. The demon hunter scowled. He didn't like mysteries, not at all. But unfortunately, they wouldn't know until she woke up. And judging from her magic levels.. she wouldn't be awake for a while.

Okay, so obviously won't be following WoW lore exactly. Oh well! Lemme know what you guys think! Also, over 1,000 words, woot!
