Raging flames

(Stealth elf's POV)

I couldn't believe it....

She was there....

She saw....

She laughed....

I had found out a while back my parents had died in a drow raid. But this.... This shook me. Knowing they suffered, and knowing someone enjoyed it.

I was pulled out of my thoughts as a low growl filled my ear. I turned, looking at Flameslinger. His fists we're clenched tightly and his ears were held back like a cat's. He was growling, it was slow and soft, but stern. Was he... Angry? He couldn't be. I've never known him to be angry. You could steal his ice cream and throw it in his face, but he'd still never get even the slightest bit angry. His head was low, but I could imagine his face twisted with pure hatred and rage. It almost scared me thinking something like this could happen to him, and he growled loud enough for all of us to hear as Kaosandra approached.

"I've decided on what becomes of you..." She said, looking at me. She held my cheek in her cold hand. I hated it, not hesitating to bite her. However she held her expression despite my teeth clamping tightly on her hand. "My troops could use an extra play thing, they'll find you most entertaining...."

Flameslinger's growl got louder, smoke fuming from his eyes as he clenched his fists tighter. He began pulling on the crystal chains, Kaosandra giving him a look. "Shut up, you!" She ordered, but she stopped in her tracks as one of the red chains snapped, his arm free. Then the other following. He was free, his eyes burning intensely as they locked on her.

"Guards!" She called out, suddenly scared as Flameslinger slowly walked towards her. A bunch of drow filed in, getting between him and her as she backed away quickly.

A drow swung his lance towards Flameslinger, but the enraged elf caught the blade with his bare hand, not even flinching as the steel melted in his grip. I cringed as I heard the skin on his hand sizzle, though he continued unfazed by the pain. The drow looked at him in horror before looking back at each other. They all ran out of the room within minutes. "Cowards!" She yelled as she tried to escape.

A few trolls took their places, aiming guns at him before firing. The bullets never pierced his skin, but simply melted off of him as he continued walking forward. A Goliath drow suddenly charged in blocking Flameslinger's way. The drow charged straight at him, only for Flameslinger to stop and hold his hand out. Flameslinger stopped the charging behemoth with that one hand. The drow suddenly screamed out in pain as his giant arm guard melted on him and and Flameslinger's hand before he finally backed off.

Flameslinger continued walking towards her before he finally grabbed her dress, the black fabric catching fire in his palms. He punched her to the ground and glared down at her, almost as if he was threatening to kill her.

I suddenly felt scared, this wasn't the Flameslinger I knew, he wouldn't do it would he. I watched as he used his foot to hold her to the ground. Slowly reaching his hand down to grab her by her throat.

However much to my surprise, her scream was only for a second as he only threw her towards the throne, the chair breaking upon impact. She was definitely injured, but still alive.

He turned his gaze to the three of us, carefully breaking our chains and making sure not to hurt us. "I'm glad you didn't kill her..." I said as he broke mine, "I thought I lost you for a minute." He nodded, a soft smile on his face. Though he had gotten enraged, I was relieved to see it was still the same Flameslinger.

However, his legs suddenly seemed to give out, the flames in his eyes calming as he fell over. His eyes fluttering shut as he lay on the cold floor. I panicked, hearing his hands sizzle as nasty burns filled his palms. We all rushed over to him.

"Flameslinger! No!" I said, noticing that he wasn't moving, tears filled my eyes as I thought the worst had happened. "No don't die! Don't die!" I pleaded. I laid my head down on his chest to cry my eyes out...

Until I heard a slow, steady, but weakened heart beat.

He was alive. He is alive! I stayed there by his side as Spyro and Cynder went to find the others, my tears of sadness replaced by tears of joy.

He was alive.

He was going to be okay.
