In the night
Eon was right, the longer I tried to ignore my dream, the more it would repeat. The faces of my two supposed parents in my mind, along with what may have been my real name. Sparx. It was a simple name, yet it sounded mystifying at the same time. One day, after the dream happened during a nap, I finally decided enough was enough. I silently packed a satchel and backpack with food, clothing, and anything else I might have needed, then hid my supplies under the bed. This was something I most likely had to take care of on my own, so I didn't really want the others to find out. I made my way to Eon's study, and attempted to tell him my plan. He was patient with me, and nodded. "If that is your wish, I'll tell everyone else you're simply on a solo mission," he said, "but promise me that you'll stay on your guard. If anyone finds out the one fire elf is on his own, you could be relentlessly hunted."
Eon's last few words haunted me as I prepared for the journey. His instructions were to meet him out in the forest at midnight. After everyone in the house fell asleep, I opened my window and silently stepped out into the night. I took a deep breath, before jumping off the roof and silently rolled at my landing, before running off into the forest.
Eon was waiting there, just as he said he would. "Good luck Flameslinger, I hope you find the answers you're looking for." I nodded, allowing the beam of light to carry me back to the forest I came from. I would attempt to retrace my steps from there.
(Third person)
As soon Flameslinger was gone, Eon motioned for three figures to step out of hiding. "Stay hidden, and don't let him see you unless he finds out or it's absolutely necessary," he explained, "I'm not taking any chances. He needs this, but we need him, I don't want to lose him." "Neither do we," Spyro spoke up, "I promise that he'll come back safely." "He's our friend, and he means too much to us," added Cynder. "No one will hurt him, NO ONE," said Stealth elf. Eon smiled, "thank you, and good luck, Skylanders."
With that, the three heroes were sent away in a beam of light. Ready to protect their friend from the shadows as he searched for answers.
(Flameslinger)
I found myself on the shore of the lake I saved the fire spirit from. It was also where they first found me. I smiled at the memory, looking out at the water before turning and walking into the woods. I wasn't that tired, but I didn't feel like running. I covered as much ground as I could before finally coming to a familiar sight.
I climbed up into the old tree I once called home and decided to set up camp for the night. I laid out a sleeping bag, and laid down looking up at the stars. The night was beautiful, but I needed to sleep. As much as I hated that dream, I needed the energy so I could continue my journey. It took a moment, but I finally let myself fall asleep.
Tonight, there was no dream, but the images of my supposed parents played through my mind.
