Thirty-Seven

"FINALLY WE ARE BACK!" Sokka screamed out as he got off the boat. He quickly left leaving everyone else behind. The prince rolled his eyes as he ordered his staff to help him with their luggage. He quickly went to Katara's side as he helped her get off of the ship.

"I forgot how cold it is down here," He commented as he was worried about her, "You sure you don't want a blanket wrapped around you?" He asked as she nodded.

The avatar followed closely behind them as he looked around and realized how didn't the South Pole looked like, "Uh Katara," He stated as she stopped in her tracks seeing it look almost more like the Northern Tribe.

They were greeted from her father as he embraced her with open arms, "Who knew my daughter would become FireLady," He exclaimed as she laughed.

Hakoda released her as he spotted the Prince, "An honor to meet you Prince Zuko," He bowed as the prince sent an awkward smile.

"There's no need for the formality," He insisted as he extended his arm out, "It's really nice to meet you properly," He explained as Hakoda shook it.

"How are you liking the Southern Tribe so far," He questioned as the prince stated that its very cold from what he is used too.

"Dad? Whats with all the construction," Katara explained as she didn't really like how different her home felt.

"Well, times are different now and we must advance if you want the Southern Tribe to last," A women spoke up as Katara raised an eyebrow.

The Prince stood back with the avatar, "I don't have a good feeling about this," Aang whispered as Zuko agreed.

"Knowing how Kat is, definitely something is going to go bad," He answered as the avatar looked around at the different construction going on.

Sokka joined the group as he too wanted to know what was going, "My name is Malina, an engineer from the Northern Water Tribe," She introduced herself along with her partners.

Katara didn't seem fond of her as she looked over at the Prince, "where are we staying?" She asked wanting to leave and go back to the house she grew up in.

Her father quickly noticed that she wasn't on board about the changes as he excused himself and led the group to his house,  "Sorry about Kat, she's ill and wants to rest," Zuko apologized to the women as Aang sent her smile before leaving her.

The group went home as Katara was disappointed seeing that her house looked very different, "What's all the comotion?" She heard a familiar voice as she spotted her Gran Gran. Katara and Sokka greeted her with a hug as Hakoda smiled knowing they missed on another.

The prince looked around as he liked how nicely decorated the place was as he spotted a familiar older man enter the home, "Hey aren't you apart of the White Lotus?" He asked as Aang turned around curious.

"Hello Prince Zuko and Avatar," He greeted as both the waterbender and her brother was surprised to see him here, "Nice to see all you guys again," He smiled as they all took the time to catch up with one another.

"Hey Aang do you want to help me with the stuff?" The prince questioned as the avatar agreed. They both went out to talk to the staff as they spotted Zhilan carrying a few things, "We can take it from here," Zuko stated as Zhilan insisted she carrying her own stuff but even Aang took it off her hands.

She never traveled outside the Fire Nation and was actually excited, "Where is Katara?" She questioned as the prince motioned her to enter inside the house.

Katara quickly spotted her as she waved her to come inside, "Gran Gran and dad, I want you guys to meet someone I grown very close too," She introduced Zhilan as she smiled.

"It's very nice to meet Katara's family," She explained as her father was quite confused on who exactly she was to them. She seem to old to be a friend but at the same time she was to young to be considered as a elder too, "I am apart of the staff that took care of your daughter and my Zuko," She explained, "I don't know if she told you guys but Katara was feeling ill so I came to make sure her health was fine throughout the trip,"

The elderly women thanked her as she offered to make some  warm tea, "I'll help you," Zhilan offered as she wanted to make some for Zuko and Aang.

"Did you and Zuko get married yet?" Hakoda questioned as Katara shook her head.

"Not yet, but we plan to do it before he becomes FireLord," She explained as she took a seat, "His coronation is set to be two weeks from today actually,"

Hakoda nodded, "So you are only staying for a few days?" He figured as it was odd to see his youngest get married and leave home so early.

"Actually, I know Kat misses her family and her tribe so I figured we can have our wedding here," The Prince stated as he pushed in the last luggage while Aang was currently on the floor tired.

The waterbender quickly stood up, "What? A wedding takes months to plan," She interrupted as everyone returned to with the group.

"Actually, Zuko contacted me awhile ago about planning it," Gran Gran explained as she set down the trays, "With the help of your brother and your future husband, they were able to plan a few things while I took care of the rest," She explained.

Katara looked at everyone confused, "You did?" She looked at Zuko while he sent her a nod. He walked over to her as he held her hands.

"All those times you talked about missing home made me want to have our wedding here with your family. You know I don't really have anyone besides Zhilan and my uncle," He explained as Katara was touched by his actions.

"Exactly, Uncle Iroh isn't here let alone Toph, Suki and a few other friends," She pointed out as Aang stood up.

"That's why I brought along Appa. We agreed that I will leave and go collect our friends. They told me your wedding would be next week," He explained as she was completely shocked.

Everyone was in on it, "Dad did you know about this?" She asked as he nodded his head, "I don't know what to say," as she felt her mood swings go wild as she started to let a few tears slid down from her cheeks.

Zuko pulled her in for a hug as everyone smiled towards on another, "Well you kids must be starving," Gran Gran excused herself as Zhilan joined her to help out with the dinner.

Hakoda and Paku left to go at the town-hall and discuss a few things with Malina while everyone else stayed in the comfort of their house.

"Wait, I don't have a wedding dress," Katara exclaimed panicked as Zuko chuckled. She quickly noticed as she raised a brow.

"We brought Zhilan not only cause of your current state but because she has been making your dress. She insisted since you know how she is when it comes to making dresses," He explained while Aang looked at them surprised.

"It's honestly weird that your getting married Katara," He pointed out, "That means there won't be anymore team avatar," He stated almost sad as he was worried about not seeing his friends.

"Well, Zuko and I are going to be busy at times with the issues of the Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation but I do think since your the Avatar you are always going to be there," She explained as he did understand her reasoning.

"How about you Sokka?" Aang questioned as he too was thinking.

"Honestly, I don't have anything hold me back from staying here since dad has it under control. I'll be your buddy to keep you company and while we are it we can find you a girlfriend," Sokka teased as Aang rolled his eyes.

Kat crossed her arms, "I thought Toph would end up being his girlfriend," She pointed out as Aang cheeks redden from the embarrassment.

The prince shook his head, "You do have a point," He teased as everyone laughed.
