21. Before Sunset

"What do you mean you're ditching my clean-up committee?" an annoyed Caroline asked her boyfriend through the phone, walking down the empty hallway of her school.

"Klaus called" Tyler informed for the other side, "He's leaving town and wants me to pack up his house".

"Well, since when does sire bond equal mover-slave?" a frustrated Caroline asked.

"He's making me doing these small petty jobs ever since he saw me share that dance with Lily at the decade dance" Tyler revealed.

"So, he's being petty" Caroline realised.

"And he still thinks I'm sired to him" Tyler added, "It's fine, I'll keep up the act and it will all be over soon".

"Speaking of which, have you told Lily about you no longer being sired to Klaus?" Caroline asked.

"I wanted to tell her at the dance, but before I could Klaus showed up" Tyler replied.

Caroline sighed, "Tyler, you need to tell her as soon as you can, if she finds out from someone else, she won't take it well, she'll think that like everyone else, you've also lost your trust in her".

"Trust me Care, I know, the last thing I want to do is make Lily think I don't trust her, the second I get the chance, I'll tell her everything" Tyler assured, "Now I'm late, I gotta go, I love you".

"I love you too" Caroline said, before hanging up on her boyfriend, as soon as she cut the call, she heard a door bang, causing her to look behind her in confusion, wondering who was here, she then felt a whoosh infront of her, "Hello?" she called out, but no one said anything, thinking she was just imagining things, Caroline proceeded to make her way towards the school cafeteria, as soon as she entered she was confused seeing Rebekah and Lily already there, with Rebekah cleaning, and Lily sitting on a chair with her legs on the table, scrolling through her phone.

Hearing footsteps, Lily looked up from her phone and smiled at her sister, "Hey Care".

"So this is where you disappeared to" Caroline said, she had gone to check on her sister in the morning, only to see that she had already left the house.

"Rebekah dragged me here before you could" Lily said, knowing her sister was looking for her to drag her here as well, just like Rebekah, these two were much alike then they thought.

"I'm just glad someone managed to get you here" an amused Caroline said.

"I managed to get her here, but I can't get her to help, maybe you'll have better luck" Rebekah said, throwing empty cups into the bin.

"Not likely" both Caroline and Lily said stimuteanously.

Caroline looked at Rebekah, "The more you get to know my sister, the more you'll realise that she doesn't like getting her hands dirty".

"Except when it's hurting people" Lily clarified, making both Rebekah and Caroline chuckle.

"Hey, where's Matt, by the way?" a curious Caroline asked, remembering that the Donovan boy was also supposed to be here.

"He bailed" Rebekah informed, "He got called into work at the last minute".

"Are you kidding me?" an annoyed Caroline asked, "So it's just us?".

"Yes, and you're late" Rebekah informed, "Clean-up committee started at eight o'clock".

Caroline looked down at her phone, "It's, like, 8:02".

"Exactly Care, that's not eight" Lily teased.

"I managed to turn up on time and I didn't even get to attend the dance that I organized" an annoyed Rebekah pointed out.

Lily let out a sigh and stood up from her seat, one of the reason she agreed to let Rebekah drag her to this clean up committee was because she was worried for the Blonde Mikaelson, who might not show it, but was currently hurting a lot.

"I'm sorry about your mom" a sympathetic Caroline told Rebekah, while Lily finally started helping Rebekah out, "I mean, I know you, like, hated her and everything".

"But she was still your mom" Lily finished her awkward sister's sentence.

Caroline nodded her head, "I'm sorry".

Rebekah looked at Caroline, "I'm sorry about your teacher, he seemed like a nice guy".

"Yeah, he was" Caroline whispered.

"I'm gonna get started on the gym" Rebekah suddenly said, after realising the atmosphere was getting too emotional for her liking.

Once Rebekah had walked away, a smiling Lily walked over to her sister, "Thank you".

Caroline looked at the werewolf in confusion, "What for?".

"For being nice to her" Lily said, "She won't admit it, but she's hurting".

"I know" Caroline said.

Lily smiled at her sister, she opened her mouth to say something else, but before she could, both her and Caroline heard someone slam someone to the lockers, the two sister exchanged a confused look and quickly rushed towards the noise, reaching the hallway, they were shocked seeing Alaric trying to stake Rebekah with the white oak stake, however before he could, both Caroline and Lily rushed towards and slammed him into the locker, in the process freeing Rebekah from his grip, and while Caroline and Lily pinned Alaric to the locker, Rebekah stabbed him with the stake, but to the three girls shock, Alaric didn't die.

While Alaric was distracted with the stake, the three girls took this opportunity to run in three separate directions, while she was running, Lily took her phone out of her pocket and tried to get Klaus on the line, she needed to warn him about Alaric.

"Come on Klaus, pick up" a panicked Lily said, as she used the back gate of the school to step out, but to her dismay, Klaus didn't pick up, just as she was about to dial him again, Alaric suddenly speeded behind the oblivious werewolf, he grabbed her head and slammed it on the wall, immediately knocking her unconscious, he then grabbed her arm and started dragging her back into the school, he knew Lily was the perfect way to get to Klaus.

Rebekah rushed into the living room where her hybrid brother currently was, "Alaric Saltzman just tried to kill me".

"Alaric Saltzman is supposed to be dead" Klaus retorted.

"Well, he's not and he's a vampire, thanks to mother's spell with a white-oak stake that can't kill him" Rebekah informed, "He's stronger, Nik, too strong".

"Where is he now?" Klaus asked.

"He's stuck at the school without a daylight ring" Rebekah replied, "But as soon as night falls, he'll come after us, we need to leave now".

Klaus suddenly remembered something, causing a concern look to form on his face as he looked at his sister, "Where's Lily?" he asked, "She went with you to the school".

"While we were running from Alaric we got separated, I don't know where she went" Rebekah informed, "But she should be home".

"Should?!" a  furious Klaus asked.

"Lily isn't the one in danger, Nik" Rebekah reminded, "Alaric is a vampire hunter, she's a werewolf, she's probably fine".

"But everyone in this town knows that we care for her, she's perfect leverage against us" Klaus snapped, "You should have made sure she was safe".

"I'm sorry, I was too busy trying to make sure Alaric didn't stake me in the heart" Rebekah snapped back.

"Fine, I'll collect Elena, convince Lily to join us and we'll be on our way" Klaus stated, deciding to believe that Lily was safe in her house, not even wanting to entertain the thought that something bad could have happened to her.

"Forget Elena, you don't need any more stupid hybrids" Rebekah snapped.

"What I need is protection from Esther's continued assaults against us" Klaus retorted.

"We'll protect each other" Rebekah argued, "Like we always have", Rebekah walked closer to her brother, "Always and forever, Nik".

"I might leave Elena behind, but now that Alaric is alive, leaving Lily in this town is out of the equation" Klaus stated.

"We can come back for her when it's safe" Rebekah suggested.

"I'm not leaving without her" Klaus said.

"I'm leaving now" a teary eyed Rebekah informed, she didn't want to leave her brother and friend behind, but at the same time, she didn't want to die in Alaric's hands, "You can either walk out that door with me or you are on your own".

Klaus looked at Rebekah, "But I won't be alone, I'll have Lily".

"Fine" Rebekah said, glaring at her brother and then walking out the room, in the process bumping into Tyler, "Move it, sire boy" she snapped, shoving Tyler out of the way.

"What's her deal?" a confused Tyler asked Klaus once Rebekah was gone, but Klaus wasn't listening to him, he was now on his phone trying to get in touch with Lily, he realised he had missed a call from her, but to his immense worry, when he dialed Lily, she didn't answer her phone.

With wolfsbane soaked ropes tying her down to the table, and a cloth soaked in wolfsbane wrapped around her mouth, Lily watched Alaric pace up and down his classroom while dialing someone on his phone.

"Whoever this is, it's not funny" Lily heard Elena say from the other side.

"Who else would it be?" Alaric asked.

"Ric?" a shocked Elena asked, wondering how was her former history teacher alive.

"Listen closely" Alaric demanded, getting straight to the point, "I'm at the school, I have Lily, and if you wanna keep your best friend's sister alive, I need you to get into your car and come down here right away, if you tell anyone where you are going, I will kill her, and then you can explain to Caroline, why her sister is dead".

After hearing the doorbell to the front door ring, Jeremy went and opened his front door, "What the hell do you want?" a shocked Jeremy asked, seeing Klaus on the other side.

"Now is that any way to treat a guest?" Klaus taunted.

"What are you doing here, Klaus?" a confused Stefan asked, walking over to the door.

"Well, for starters, young Jeremy here could show some manners and invite me inside" Klaus suggested.

"Why don't you go up to your room?" Stefan told Jeremy, standing infront of the Gilbert boy, as Damon walked over to them.

"Now" Damon told Jeremy.

"Poor lad" Klaus commented, once Jeremy had walked upstairs, "Loses one questionable father figure only to be replaced by the likes of the two of you".

"Yeah, about that, something happened" Damon started.

"Oh, I know all about my mother's invulnerable little creation, that's why I'm here" Klaus informed, "I'm leaving town, I went to the Forbes house and the Sheriff said Lily wasn't home and she thinks she's here with you Stefan, oh and while you're at it, give me the doppelganger as well".

Stefan looked at Klaus in confusion, he opened his mouth to tell the hybrid that Lily wasn't here, but his brother interrupted him, "Can't help you there" Damon said, closing the door on Klaus's face.

A worried Stefan looked at his brother, "Lily's not home, she's not with Klaus, she's not here with me, so where the hell is she?".

"I don't know Stefan, and frankly, I don't care, I've got more important things to take care of" Damon said, walking up the stairs to check on Elena.

While Damon check on the doppelganger, Stefan pulled his phone out and dialed Lily's number, but to his worry, she didn't pick up.

"Dammit!" a worried Stefan yelled, "This is not the time for you to disappear on me, Lily".

Stefan pressed Lily's number again, but before he could press call, a panicked Damon rushed down the stairs, "Elena isn't here".

"What?" a shocked Stefan asked.

"Elena's gone, Stefan" Damon revealed.

A very impatient and worried Klaus paced back and forth on the Gilbert's porch, the longer he went without talking to Lily, the more anxious he got, suddenly his eyes landed on the newspaper laying infront of the Gilbert's front door, an idea suddenly starting to form on his head, no matter what, no one was going to stop him from getting to Lily.

Klaus grabbed the newspaper, he rolled it up and walked over to the Gilbert's fence that was infront of the window, he saw Damon peeking through the blinds, a smirk formed on his face and he threw the newspaper through the window, shattering it into pieces and causing Damon, Stefan and Bonnie, who was also at the house, to duck for cover.

After managing to sneak away from both Stefan and Damon, Elena entered the high school and immediately rushed towards Alaric's class room, entering it, she was shocked seeing Lily tied down to a table with ropes soaked in wolfsbane and a cloth soaked in wolfbanes around her mouth.

"Lily" a concerned Elena whispered, she then turned to her former history teacher, "Let her go, Alaric".

"Free her yourself" Alaric said, gesturing towards Lily.

Elena looked at Alaric with a slightly skeptical look on her face but nonetheless rushed over to Lily and started untying the ropes around her hands but before she could, Alaric came over and stabbed Lily in the stomach with a wooden stake coated in wolfsbane, making the Forbes werewolf let out a painful scream.

"You said that you would let her go!" Elena reminded.

"How many times do I have to tell you, Elena?" Alaric asked, "Stop trusting vampires!".

"I think you're probably gonna want to let me in!" Klaus yelled, still standing outside the Gilbert's house, but no one opened the door, Klaus started looking around for the next thing he could throw at the house, that's when his eyes landed on the white pointy fences the neighbors infront of the Gilberts had, he walked over to the fences and placed his hands over it, his eyes then landed on a soccer ball on the front yard of the same house, causing a smirk to form on his face.

Inside the Gilbert's house, Stefan looked out the kitchen window, "Elena's car's gone" he informed.

"Why wouldn't she tell anyone where she was going?" a confused Bonnie asked.

Suddenly the Gilbert's front door was ripped open and a ball came flying in Damon's direction who quickly ducked for cover, Klaus walked up the porch with two pieces of fence in his hand and started throwing it in.

"Get down!" Stefan yelled to Bonnie and Jeremy, quickly pulling them down to keep them safe from Klaus's attack.

"Missed me" Damon taunted Klaus, before grabbing the piece of fence that was lodged in the wall and throwing it back at Klaus who easily dodged it.

Klaus then proceeded to broke the other piece he had into two pieces and threw it at Damon but he ducked down and the fence ended up hitting a picture on the wall, causing it to fall and shatter on to the ground.

"Missed me again!" Damon yelled, just as Stefan's phone started ringing.

"Alaric" Stefan greeted, quickly answering his phone after realising who was calling.

After the fences plan failed, Klaus grabbed a gas cylinder and a newspaper, he lit the newspaper on fire and walked back to the Gilbert's house, ready to burn the whole house to the ground if they didn't let him in.

"Put it out" Stefan said, walking over to the front door.

"Come outside and make me" Klaus challenged.

Stefan stepped outside the door and stepped closer to Klaus, "Elena's not here and neither is Lily, Alaric's got both of them, he's gonna kill them both unless you turn yourself over to him".

Klaus threw the newspaper and gas cylinder on to the floor, "Now, I know you're not asking me to walk into a certain death".

Stefan let out a humorless chuckle, "I really wish we could" he said, "But unfortunately, if Alaric kills you, there's a 1 in 4 chance that we die too".

"I'll take those odds" Damon said, walking out the house with a piece of the wooden fence in his hand.

"And a 100 percent chance that Lily ends up heartbroken" Stefan retorted.

"Could live with that too" Damon stated.

"Well I can't" Stefan snapped, his brother's hatred for his best friend really starting to get on his nerves, "So why don't we just figure out a way to put Alaric down, hmm?".

Klaus paced back and forth on the Gilbert's porch, trying to think of a plan that will save Lily, "Okay" he said, an idea forming in his head, "How about Damon sneaks in and distracts Alaric while Stefan grabs Elena and carries her to safety and I save Lily?".

"Oh that's a great idea" Damon said sarcastically, "What's to stop me from getting killed instantly?".

"Nothing" Klaus replied simply.

"This isn't really helping too much" Stefan pointed out.

"I might have an idea" Bonnie informed, walking over to the trio, "My mom used a desiccation spell on Mikael that immobilized him for over fifteen years, if I can get it, I might be able to use it on Alaric".

"If and might" Klaus said, "Your words inspire such confidence".

"I'll get it" Bonnie assured, "But even with the spell, we'll need a lot of vampire muscle to take him down, including yours".

Klaus let out an annoyed sigh, "Just so we're clear, the sun sets in about eight hours" he informed, "If we don't succeed before then, Elena will be dead, no matter what I'll save Lily, and then us two will be gone and the rest of you will be left to fend for yourselves".

Lily glared at Alaric as he soaked the cloth that was previously around her mouth with more wolfsbane, she tried to rip the ropes off of her but they just burned her and refused to snap.

Elena watched as Alaric went behind Lily, "Alaric stop--".

"Sit down!" Alaric snapped, pushing Elena back on to her seat, "This keeps the wolfsbane in her system, it's like inhaling razor blades with every breath".

As soon as the cloth touch her mouth her skin started burning and Lily screamed in pain but her scream came out muffled.

"Why are you doing this?" Elena asked Alaric.

"To make it easier on you when you put her out of her misery" Alaric replied.

"What?" a shocked Elena asked, "No".

"Isn't this what you wanted, Elena?" Alaric asked, "For me to teach you how to kill a vampire?".

"She's not a vampire!" Elena snapped.

"But she still is supernatural" Alaric reminded, "So, kill her".

Elena shook her head, "This isn't what I wanted".

"Of course it is" Alaric said, "All those hours you spent training, getting stronger, you could be a hunter Elena, but you've never actually killed a supernatural creature", Alaric forwarded the knife in his hand to Elena, "Come on Elena, cut her head off".

Klaus parked his car outside the school and both him and Stefan stepped out.

"Abby just showed up" Stefan informed Klaus after reading his brother's message.

"Good" Klaus said, "Perhaps this plan won't be an epic failure after all", Klaus leaned against his car and looked at the youngest Salvatore, "You know, if this does go off and we drop the history teacher in the Atlantic I'm still leaving with both Lily and Elena".

"I'll go with you" Stefan said.

"Really?" Klaus asked, "What's the catch?".

"There's no catch" Stefan defended, "I love Elena and Lily's my best friend, I'd turn my back on everything here to make sure those two were safe".

"I'll never put Lily in a dangerous situation" Klaus informed.

"Given our history, you can't blame me for not trusting you" Stefan said.

"Yet you've stopped trying to get Lily to stay away from me" a confused Klaus pointed out.

Stefan sighed, "I can't tell Lily what to do and what not to, that will always be her choice, but I can make sure that she knows that if you or anyone else hurts her, she'll always have someone who'll help her bounce back".

Once Damon, Bonnie and Jeremy arrived at the school, Stefan and Klaus made their way over to them.

"Look at this, one big happy family" Klaus taunted.

Bonnie shook her head at Klaus before turning to the Salvatore brothers, a vial of blood in her hand, "Drink this, it's my blood, it bridges us all together so that when I stop Jeremy's heart, you'll have the power to stop Alaric's, you'll have to make a physical connection to his bloodstream, a vein, artery, something connected to his heart".

Damon took a sip of Bonnie's blood and handed the rest over to Stefan, "If one of us gets a clean shot, take it, the other two hold him down" Stefan instructed, taking a sip of Bonnie's blood before handing the remaining blood over to Klaus.

"Before we all walk through these doors, let's get on the same page, shall we?" Klaus said, "I was the one who created your vampire bloodline, therefore I am responsible for your lives, and Tyler's life, Caroline's life and, of course, Abby's life, should anything go wrong".

"Or you're just lying to save your ass" Damon said, not believing that Klaus sired them.

"I'm not lying" Klaus said, "But go ahead, call my bluff, let the teacher kill me, you'll all be dead soon thereafter", Klaus finally drank Bonnie's blood.

"Let's just get this over with, shall we?" Stefan asked, walking over to the school with Damon and Klaus right behind him.

"Why are you doing this?!" a frustrated Elena asked Alaric.

"Because you need me" Alaric said, "Because you're an eighteen year old girl without parents or guidance or any sense of right and wrong anymore".

"Look at you" Elena pointed towards Lily, "How is this right?".

"You and I both know how a werewolf triggers their curse, Elena" Alaric reminded, "She's a murderer and if that wasn't bad enough she went ahead and chose Klaus over everyone else, she saved his life and risked everyone else's, now how is that right? Listen, Elena, your parents led the council, it was their life's mission to keep this town safe, they weren't dead six months before you undid it all".

"You don't know anything about them" Elena snapped, glaring at Alaric, furious at him for bringing up her dead parents.

"Why, am I wrong?" Alaric asked, "Do you actually think that they'd be proud of you?", Alaric kneeled infront of the desk Elena was sitting on, "If you don't side with the humans", Alaric glanced at Lily, "You're just as bad as them", Alaric stood up and once again forwarded the knife in his hand towards Elena, "Now kill her, or I'll do it for you, and I'll make it hurt", Alaric grabbed Elena's arm and forced her to stand infront of Lily, he then forced the knife into her hand, Elena looked at Lily but instead of stabbing her she tried to stab Alaric, who quickly grabbed her hand.

"I thought I taught you better than that" Alaric said, glaring at the doppelganger.

"You did" Elena said, before grabbing the beaker that was filled with vervain and smashing it on Alaric's face, who immediately fell to the floor crying, giving Elena the chance to quickly untie Lily, "Get help!" she said, as Lily quickly rushed out the classroom but before Elena could follow her, her way was blocked by Alaric.

"Not so fast" Alaric told Elena.

As Lily was running down the corridor she suddenly realised that Elena wasn't behind her, immediately causing her to stop running and turn to go back for the Gilbert girl, but before she could, someone speeded behind her and placed their one hand over her mouth and their other hand around her waist, immediately causing Lily to start panicking.

"Shh, it's okay, it's okay, it's me" Klaus whispered into Lily's ear, immediately calming her down, "It's okay, you're safe, we'll save Elena, you go straight home, you stay inside, do you understand?".

Lily immediately started shaking her head in protest, she turned around and faced Klaus, "No, I'm not leaving you".

"Lily, I can't save Elena if I'm worried about you" Klaus argued.

"You're not going near Alaric, he wants you dead" Lily reminded, "I'll go save Elena, but I'm not going to let you walk to your death".

"Lily, you're leaving, now" Klaus stated.

"Klaus--".

"This isn't a debate!" Klaus snapped, making sure not to be too loud and alert Alaric of his presence, "I am not losing you, so you're going to go somewhere safe".

"No, I--", before Lily could continuing protesting, Klaus cupped her face in his hands and placed his lips on to hers, after getting out of her initial shock, Lily kissed him back.

Once the two separated, Klaus gave Lily one last look, before using his vampire speed to speed away from her, leaving Lily there to stand alone in the corridor watching him leave.

Alaric shoved Elena into the lockers, he held her by her neck and started chocking her, "I should kill you, I should gut you like Brain Walters, Bill Forbes and all the other cowards I plan on ripping apart, you're the worst offender of them all Elena, you don't deserve to live".

"So then why am I still alive?" a confused Elena asked, while struggling to remove Alaric's hand from her neck, "There's obviously no humanity left in you, so what's stopping you, Alaric? If you want me dead, then kill me", Alaric's grip on Elena's neck tightened and veins started appearing under his red eyes, "Do it, kill me!", but instead of killing Elena, he let go of her and took a step back, confusing the doppelganger even more, who was wondering what was it that was stopping Alaric from killing her.

However, before Elena could think about it anymore, Stefan and Damon speeded over and grabbed Alaric but his arms, "Do it, now!" Damon yelled, struggling to hold on to Alaric, suddenly Alaric pushed Damon on to the lockers, he then broke Stefan's spine and snapped Damon necks, knocking both the brothers out.

Klaus speeded over to Alaric and shoved his hand into his chest, making Alaric scream in pain, however before Bonnie's spell could work, Alaric broke Klaus's hand and shoved him to the ground, breaking the connection, he then stormed over and shoved Klaus into the lockers, he then tried to stake him with the white oak stake but Klaus held his hand and both the vampires started struggling.

"Stop, Alaric!".

Klaus and Alaric looked towards the person who just yelled and both of them saw Lily standing there, with a knife to Elena's throat.

"Let Klaus go, or your precious Elena dies" Lily threatened, glaring at the original hunter.

"Put it down, Lily" Alaric demanded, making no effort to spare Klaus.

"Not happening" Lily stated, "And tell me something, why are you so protected of a human whose done nothing but go against everything you believe in? I think we know, come on Elena, tell your not so great guardian what we have just figured out".

Unknown to both Klaus and Alaric, Lily wasn't actually going to kill Elena, while Alaric was distracted by Stefan and Damon, Elena had ran straight into Lily, who was coming to help Klaus, that's when Elena told Lily her theory and the two girls decided to test it out.

"There's a reason why Esther used to make me, isn't there?" Elena asked Alaric, "She didn't want you to be immortal, so she tied your life to a human one, mine, that way you only have one lifespan to kill all vampires and then you'll be gone, so when I die, you die too, that's it, it has to be".

"You're wrong" Alaric said, refusing to confirm anything.

"She is?" Lily asked, "Then you won't care if I slit her throat", Lily looked at Elena, who gave her a small nod, Lily then proceeded to make a small cut on Elena's neck.

"Stop! Stop! Stop!" Alaric immediately started yelling, realising Lily was actually hurting Elena.

Seeing Alaric distracted, Klaus quickly shoved him away from him and before he could recover, Klaus grabbed both Elena and Lily and speeded out the school.

Elena slowly opened her eyes and immediately she was confused with her surroundings, she yelled in pain feeling someone stick a needle into her arm.

"Oh, be careful" the nurse taking Elena's blood warned, "Moving only makes it hurt more".

"What are you doing?" a panicked Elena asked, as her eyes landed on Klaus who was sitting on the couch infront of her.

"Draining you of all your blood" Klaus informed.

Tyler entered the room and immediately he was shocked seeing Elena's state, "Elena?".

"Tyler, help me" Elena pleaded.

Tyler put the box he was holding on the ground and tried to rush over and help Elena, but Klaus's words stopped him, "He can't" Klaus said, "He needs to go fetch me more empty blood bags, and go upstairs and check on Lily".

"Lily?" a concerned Tyler asked, wondering what Klaus did to his best friend.

"She fell unconscious after saving my life, go make sure she's okay" Klaus instructed, once Klaus had brought Elena and Lily to his home, Lily, who was still physically weak, fell unconscious due to the immense amount of wolfsbane in her system.

"Tyler please" Elena whispered, who was struggling with what to do, if he went against Klaus and saved Elena, Klaus would find out that Tyler broke his sire bond and will immediately kill him, but if he didn't do anything, then Klaus was going to kill Elena, "Get Stefan, please".

"No, Tyler, check on Lily and get the bags" Klaus repeated, Tyler looked at Elena, then at Klaus, he turned back to Elena and tried to speed over to her, but Klaus quickly blocked his way, "Forget the girl and do as I say, now".

After giving Elena one last glance, Tyler finally waked out the room.

"So that's it?" Elena asked, while trying to free herself from the ropes that were holding her down, "You're just gonna bleed me dry?".

Klaus walked behind Elena, "Yes, but don't worry, it'll be completely painless, as the last drop is drawn, you'll simply fall asleep".

"What about your hybrids?" a weak Elena asked Klaus, "You'll need more than this to create your army".

Klaus grabbed one of the blood bags from the nurses hand, "These last few liters will have to suffice, you see, by attempting to kill us my mother strengthened the bond between my siblings and I, I don't need hybrids, I have my family".

"If you believe that, then why take my blood at all?" Elena asked, "You want a backup family, you know that your siblings will never trust you again".

Klaus walked closer to the doppelganger, "You know, Stefan blames me for trying to tear him from his brother, but I think we both know who really came between them, you, that's why you won't choose, you know once you pick a Salvatore, you'll destroy their bond", Klaus leaned over Elena, "Consider this me doing you a favor, once you're dead, you won't have to choose, no broken hearts, their family stays intact, but just between us girls, who would you have picked?".

Elena glared at Klaus, "Rot in hell".

"You're welcome" Klaus taunted, "Sweet dreams Elena, it's been fun".

Once Klaus had left the room, Tyler sneaked back in and rushed to free Elena, quickly he united the ropes keeping her down.

"What are you doing?" an extremely weak Elena whispered.

"Shh" Tyler whispered, taking the needle out of Elena's room.

Elena looked behind Tyler and her eyes went wide in fear, "Tyler".

Tyler turned around and saw Klaus standing behind him, "So much for that sire bond".

"I'm not your little bitch anymore" Tyler informed, standing up and facing Klaus.

Klaus let out a small chuckle, he then walked over to Tyler, "How did you break the sire bond?".

"By breaking every bone in my body a hundred times for the girl I love" Tyler replied.

"That's impossible" Klaus stated.

"Is it?" Tyler challenged, taking a step closer towards the original hybrid, "Or maybe real love is stronger than fake loyalty, but what would you know about that?".

"You know, you should be thanking me" a furious Klaus said, "I gave you a gift, I took away your misery".

"You didn't give a crap about me!" Tyler yelled, "You just didn't wanna be alone!", Tyler walked back to Elena and helped her stand up, "Come on".

However before Tyler could take Elena away, Klaus speeded over to the duo and shoved Elena away from Tyler, causing the doppelganger to fall and hit her head on the stairs.

Klaus grabbed Tyler by his neck and slammed him to the wall, "Goodbye, Tyler", Klaus went to rip Tyler's heart out, but before he could, Tyler twisted Klaus arm causing him to turn around and come face to face with Stefan who immediately shoved his hand into Klaus's chest, making him scream in pain, suddenly he stopped screaming, as he started desiccating, he looked at Stefan with teary eyes, before Stefan let him go and he fell to the ground, full desiccated.

"You guys should go before Lily wakes up" Tyler told the trio, as Damon helped Elena stand, "The extra wolfsbane I gave her won't keep her unconscious for too long".

"You drugged Lily?" a shocked Stefan asked.

"If I didn't drug her then she would have killed all of us for this" Tyler snapped, gesturing towards the desiccated Klaus. 

Stefan sighed before turning to his brother, "We should get her home before the sun sets".

A concerned Elena looked at Stefan, "How's Lily going to take this?".

"Not well" a guilty Stefan replied, he was really at a crossroad here, one side he had to put Klaus down to save the life of his girlfriend, the other side, putting Klaus down, meant he broke his promise to his best friend.

An extremely weak Lily slowly stepped down the stairs of the Mikaelson mansion, she didn't know why she felt so weak, by now the wolfsbane that Alaric had injected her with should have long passed but Lily could still feel the wolfbane in her system, making her extremely weak and tired.

Once Lily had reached the end of the stairs, she walked straight into the living room, "Klaus!".

Lily looked around the living room and immediately frowned seeing no sign of the hybrid, she turned to leave the room, but suddenly a wave of dizziness hit her and she was about to fall to the ground, when a pair of arms were wrapped around her waist, stopping from hurting herself.

"Careful".

A small smile formed on Lily's face hearing the similar voice, "Elijah".

Elijah carefully helped Lily stand straight, "Are you okay, Lily?".

"I've definitely felt better" Lily admitted, "Wait, what are you doing here?".

"I'm here because of Niklaus" Elijah informed.

Lily looked at Elijah in confusion, "Why are you here for Klaus and where is he right now?".

Elijah sighed, "Niklaus is in trouble, Lily".

Lily looked at Elijah with a concerned look on her face, "Trouble? What kind of trouble? Is it Alaric? Did he do something to Klaus?".

Elijah shook his head, "It's not because of the history teacher, it's because of the Salvatore brothers".

Immediately an angry look formed on Lily's face, "What did they do this time?".

"They desiccated him and are planning to throw his body into the ocean" Elijah revealed, causing immense fury to build in Lily, no matter what, the Forbes werewolf wasn't going to let the Salvatore brothers plan, Klaus was going to come back to her, no matter what.
