03. The Rager

After being discharged from the hospital, Tyler entered the Lockwood mansion with his mother, the moment he entered his home, he was confused seeing two unknown men standing in his home.

"Who the hell are you two?" Tyler asked, really not in the mood to entertain anyone.

"Tyler, it's okay, they're here for your protection" Carol Lockwood assured.

"More deputies?" an annoyed Tyler asked.

"Not exactly" Klaus said, entering the room and announcing his presence to Tyler.

Tyler let out an annoyed sigh seeing Klaus in his house, "They're hybrids" he realised.

"Lily told me about you getting attack" Klaus informed.

Tyler looked behind Klaus where Lily stood, "It's nice to know you still care".

Lily glared at the Lockwood werewolf, "I don't care about people who drug me Tyler" she snapped, "The only reason I convinced Klaus to help protect you is because Caroline asked, trust me, if it was up to me, you and I would never come face to face".

Klaus glared at Tyler, "I should've killed you for the little stunt you and your friends pulled, drugging Lily, stopping my heart, leaving me in a coffin to rot".

"Yeah well you used my body as an escape hatch, then kissed my girlfriend, so maybe we're even" Tyler snapped.

"Definitely not" Lily stated.

"Lily's right, we're not even close" Klaus said, "And about kissing your girlfriend, she kissed me, she's not the sister I'm interested in kissing", a small smile formed on Lily's face hearing Klaus, "Anyways, you hybrids are a dying breed, I can't make more of you, and I won't have anyone taking liberties with the ones I have left, consider them your new bodyguards".

Lily entered the Lockwood's office where she knew Tyler hid all his booze, as soon as she entered the office her eyes landed on a woman she's never seen before, "Who the hell are you?".

The mystery woman turned and looked at Lily, "From the way you're glaring at me, I'm going to go on a limb here and say you're Tyler's best friend, Lily".

"We're not best friends, not anymore" Lily stated, "Now, you still haven't answered my question, who the hell are you and how do you know me?".

"I'm Hayley and Tyler told me about you, he told me about everyone in Mystic Falls" Hayley informed.

Lily narrowed her eyes at Hayley, "And why would he do that?'".

Hayley opened her mouth to say something but before she could, Klaus entered the room and stood behind Lily, his hand automatically going on the Forbes werewolf's waist.

"You're a new face" Klaus said, looking at the new girl, just like Lily wondering who was she and why was she here.

"And I take it from your accent you're an old one, Klaus" Hayley connected.

Klaus looked at Lily, an amused expression on his face, "My reputation precedes me" he said, before turning to Hayley, "Hopefully not all bad".

"A little bad, mostly repulsive" Hayley said.

"Hey!" Lily snapped, glaring at the girl infront of her, "You're new, you don't get to judge people here".

Klaus removed his hand from Lily's waist and instead laced their fingers together, all while looking at the girl infront of him, "So you're Tyler's friend, that's strange, he's never mentioned you", suddenly Klaus heard Tyler talking to someone, using his super hearing he realised Tyler was talking to Caroline, who had ditched Rebekah's anti curfew party to visit her boyfriend.

"You should go to the party, I'll be fine here" Klaus heard Tyler say to Caroline.

"But I'd rather hang with you" a confused Caroline said, wondering why her boyfriend didn't want to hang out with her.

"Trust me, I am no fun right now" Tyler said.

A smirk formed on Klaus's face after hearing the conversation between Tyler and Caroline, "And I think I know why".

Lily looked at Klaus in confusion, who then looked at her and gave her a look she immediately recognized, with her eyes wide open, Lily turned back to Hayley, then back to Klaus, "No, there's no way, Tyler wouldn't do that to Caroline".

"Wouldn't he?" Klaus asked, "If he can hurt his best friend, I'm pretty sure he can do this as well".

"If what you're suggesting is true, I'm going claw his heart out and make him eat it" Lily stated, Klaus smirked hearing Lily's threat, for some reason, he found it really attractive when Lily talked about murder.

After getting Caroline to leave, Tyler reentered the Lockwood's office, where to his shock sat both Klaus and Lily, Klaus looking amused, while Lily was glaring at Tyler with immense hatred.

"She's quite fetching, that Hayley" Klaus taunted.

"Where is she?" a concerned Tyler asked.

"Oh, she had to run" Klaus informed, "But don't worry, I had her take the back door so Caroline wouldn't see".

Tyler glared at Klaus, "Whatever you think you know--".

"I don't know anything" Klaus interrupted, "But I've put together a convincing picture, why don't you tell me and Lily where our imagination deviates from reality?", Klaus stood up from seat he was sitting on and walked over to Tyler, "You went off to the Appalachians to break my sire bond, there you met a pack of werewolves, begged  them for help, among them was a girl, she was gorgeous, with the same animal instincts as you, emotions ran high, inhibitions ran low".

"Stop it" Tyler snapped, shaking his head, not wanting to hear anything else but Klaus ignored him.

"Then in a moment of weakness, the thick sexual tension became something much more real" Klaus continued.

"I said, stop!" Tyler yelled, glaring at Klaus, when suddenly he was pinned to the wall, with Lily's hand wrapped around his throat.

"You broke my sister's trust, I should kill you for that!" Lily yelled, her eyes glowing yellow, her strength surprising Tyler, while Klaus stood back with an impressed expression on his face.

Klaus's admiring session was broken when he heard Tyler's phone started ringing, he walked over to the table and picked Tyler's phone up, "Hello, Damon" he greeted, while Lily let go of Tyler who immediately went into a coughing fit. 

"Klaus, where's Tyler?" a confused Damon asked, wondering why was Klaus answering Tyler's phone.

"Tyler is otherwise occupied making big decisions about honesty and whatnot" Klaus informed, "Is there anything I can do?".

"I'm going after the vampire hunter, so if he'd like to join" Damon informed.

"He wouldn't" Klaus said, exchanging a look with Lily, "Me and Lily, however".

Jeremy led Connor the hunter into the hospital, "There she is", Jeremy pointed towards Dr. Meredith Fell, the women he told Connor had a connection to vampires.

"Stay here" Connor told Jeremy, before following Meredith into a storage room, as soon as Connor entered the room, he saw no sign of Meredith, but he did see someone else, "Is a hospital really the best place for a germaphobe?".

Damon stepped out of the shadows, "Did I say that I was a germaphobe? Pfft, sorry, I meant vampire".

Connor looked at Damon for a moment, he then pulled his gun out but before he could shoot he was shot in the arm with a arrow, he bent down to grab his gun, only for another arrow to hit his other arm.

"Ooh" an amused Damon commented, as Connor looked at the arrows and realised they were connected to bombs, "Stings, doesn't it?".

Connor ignored Damon and once again went to pick his gun, only for it to be kicked away from him, looking up, he saw Klaus standing infront of him, while Lily went and stood next to Damon, "Hello, mate" Klaus greeted.

The trio watched as Connor tried to dig the arrows out of him.

"Keep it up, buddy, they'll be scraping you off the ceiling" Damon warned.

"You three are gonna kill me anyway" Connor retorted.

"Well let's not be too hasty" Klaus said, "I feel like we're just getting to know each other".

"Let's start with the basics" Damon suggested.

"Where have you come from?" a curious Lily asked, "And what do you want from Mystic Falls?".

"Maybe you can cue me in on this greater evil, because I've fought this guy and there's nothing more evil than that" Damon said, gesturing towards Klaus.

"Yeah, truth be told, I'm as evil as it gets" Klaus boosted, as Lily took the letter from Damon's hand and started reading it, realising this was Pastor Young's last letter for his daughter April.

"I'm not telling you anything" Connor stated, "You think if you kill me it's gonna be over? There's another waiting to take my place".

"See, this is what I like to hear, vague threats, ominous prophecies, disappearing tattoos" Damon listed.

The smile on Klaus's face suddenly faded, "What do you mean, tattoos?".

"Don't bother, you can't see the damn thing" Damon informed.

Klaus bent down and looked at the hunter infront of him, "There's more to you than meets the eye, isn't there?", Connor glared at Klaus and tried to stab him but Klaus very easily grabbed his hand, "Nice try, but I'm faster than your average vampire", Klaus snatched Connor's stake from his hand and looked at the logo engraved on it, "You're one of the five".

"He's one of the what?" a confused Lily asked, wondering why did Klaus seem so tense suddenly.

"I'm faster than your average hunter" Connor said, pulling on to the arrows, but before he could escape, Klaus had used his speed to not only grab Connor but also grab Lily and take her to safety.

After receiving multiple calls from Stefan, Klaus entered his room, "You came" Stefan realised.

"I did" Klaus confirmed, "And for future reference, one voicemail is just as effective as nine".

"What's wrong with your girlfriend?" a curious Lily asked, entering the room and seeing Elena groaning in pain.

"She has werewolf venom in her system" Stefan revealed, causing a smug look to form on Klaus's face, "You know you're the only one that can heal her, Klaus, please".

"And what would you have done if I were no longer here?" Klaus asked, "If you and your friends succeeded in ridding the world of me, let's play that game for a moment shall we".

"Whatever you want from me--".

"I don't want anything from you" Klaus stated, he then looked at Elena, "Her, on the other hand, if you had told me a few hours ago, I wouldn't have cared a lick about her dying, but as it turns out", Klaus bit into his wrist, "You may be of use to me after all", Klaus helped Elena drink his blood, "Yes, there we go".

Stefan looked at Lily, wondering if she knew what Klaus was on about, but the Forbes werewolf just shrugged, but whatever it was, it wasn't going to be good for Elena that much Lily can guarantee .

Connor woke up and immediately realised he was back in his RV, he looked to his side where Klaus stood, with Lily behind him, "You saved me?".

"Congratulations" Klaus said, "You just became worth more to me alive than dead".

"What did you mean when you said I was one of the five?" a confused Connor asked.

"You don't know your own history?" Klaus asked.

"What history?" a confused Lily asked.

"Well little luna, let's just say it's made him the most well protected vampire hunter in town" Klaus replied.
