17. The Last Dance

"Hello, class" Klaus, in Alaric's body greeted, entering the class Alaric taught where Stefan, Bonnie and Elena were also present, "What are we learning today?".

"With the decade dance, we've been covering the 60s all week".

"Right, the 60s" Klaus said, just as his eyes landed on Elena, causing a small smirk to form on his face, he then turned around and started writing on the blackboard, "The 60s, I wish there was something good I could say about the 60s, but, actually they kind of sucked, except for the Beatles, of course they made it bearable, what else was there? The Cuban missile thing, we walked on the moon, there was Watergate".

"Actually" Lily said, walking into the classroom, "Watergate was the 70s, you might want to go and refresh your brain, Mr. Saltzman".

Klaus didn't miss the taunt in Lily's voice when she called him Mr. Saltzman, when jumping into Alaric's body, Klaus knew a huge risk was Lily finding out about him through her dreams, and from the way she was looking at him, confirmed Klaus's doubt, but instead of being angry that his planned failed, a smirk formed on Klaus's face, both him and Lily looked at each other with a challenging look on their faces, both of them wondering what the others move was going to be now.

"May I take a seat?" Lily asked after a moment.

"Please" Klaus said, gesturing towards the seats.

Lily took her seat, which happened to be next to Stefan, who was confused seeing the serious look on Lily's face, something he doesn't see often.

"What's wrong?" Stefan mouthed to Lily.

Lily looked at Stefan, then at Klaus, who was looking at her, wondering if she was going to tell Stefan about him, Lily sighed and looked at Stefan, "Nothing" she lied.

Lily knows she should tell Stefan about Klaus being here in Mystic Falls, but before outing Klaus to everyone, Lily needed to talk to Klaus about her dreams, she needed answers which she knew would be impossible to get if everyone knew about Klaus, so for now, Lily was going to keep Klaus's secret, and the look on Klaus's face let her knew that he knew that as well.

After class, Lily was at her locker, putting her books in when Dana, a girl from her history class, walked over to with a rose and note in her hand.

"Lily, these are for you" Dana said.

A confused Lily took the rose and note from Dana's hand, "Whose this from?".

"Read the note, I have to go find Elena" Dana simply said, before walking away to go find Elena.

"Why are people in this town so weird?" Lily mumbled, shaking her head at Dana, she then looked at the note in her hand, looking at it she saw her name written in cursive, she then turned the note around and realised who sent this rose to her.

Lily then looked at the rose in her hand, and a small smile formed on her face.

"The villain is a charmer" She whispered, placing the rose and note carefully into her locker.

Lily's Look For The Decade Dance ^

"I can't believe I let you dress me up" Lily complained, looking at herself in the mirror in the Forbes hallway.

"Oh stop complaining, you look beautiful" Caroline praised.

"I hate pink" Lily stated, "There is no reason for a colour to be so bright and happy looking".

"You hate pink because it's a happy colour?" an amused Caroline asked.

"Yes" Lily simply replied.

Caroline chuckled at her sister, "Has anyone told you that you're a unique specimen?".

"Yeah, you do, everytime I say something you don't agree with" Lily replied.

"Well I'm right" Caroline said.

Lily shrugged, "I'll rather be a unique specimen then be like every other boring person in this boring old town" she said, just as the front door opened and Liz entered the house.

"There you are, you almost missed us" Caroline greeted their mother, "How do we look?".

Liz looked at Caroline, "Jackie O?".

"Duh" Caroline confirmed.

"You look good" Liz praised, she then looked at Lily, "Another of Caroline's experiments?".

"Obviously, otherwise I will not be caught wearing pink, ever" Lily stated, making both her sister and mother laugh.

"Well, pink suits you" Liz assured.

"Told you" Caroline said, giving her sister a told you so look.

Lily rolled her eyes at her sister, she then turned back to her mother and immediately frowned seeing the look on her face, "Mom, are you okay?" she asked.

"Just some work stress" Liz assured.

"Well, you work too much" Caroline said, just as Matt, dressed as JFK, knocked on the front door, immediately causing a huge smile to form on Caroline's face, "Mr. President" she greeted, opening the front door.

"Hey" Matt greeted.

"Hi" Caroline said, leaning in to kiss Matt, but he quickly leaned away.

"Woah" Matt said, looking at Liz, "Sheriff".

Caroline chuckled, realising Matt was embarrassed to kiss her infront of her mother, "Sorry" she laughed.

"Have fun" Liz simply told her daughters.

"We will", "Not likely" Both Caroline and Lily said at the same time.

"Lily" Caroline warned.

"Caroline" Lily mocked, before following her sister out the door, "Bye mom!".

"Bye sweethearts" Liz said, after exchanging a cryptic look with Matt.

"Hey" Stefan greeted, walking over to Lily after seeing her enter the dance, an amused expression on his face.

"Don't" Lily warned, knowing all to well why Stefan was so amused, "If you dare say something about this outfit I will bite you".

Stefan chuckled, "I just never thought I'd ever see you in pink".

"Don't blame me, blame Caroline who turned me into her personal barbie" Lily complained.

"Well in her defense, she knew if she didn't dress you up, then you would have just come here in your signature emo clothes, her words not mine" Stefan said.

"Any clothes will be better then these clothes" Lily stated, "God, how the hell did you live in the 60s with these types of clothes, they are so flowy and itchy".

"Oh come on, they're not that bad" Stefan said.

"Yeah, that's why you're wearing a normal suit instead of something proper from this era" Lily retorted.

"Men wore suits in the 60s, Lily" Stefan reminded.

"Not like the one your wearing" Lily said.

Stefan opened his mouth to say something, but before he could, Dana talking into the microphone caught both his and Lily's attention.

"We have a special shout-out tonight" Dana said into the microphone, "This is for Elena and Lily, from Klaus".

Lily shook his head at Klaus's antics, she then turned to a worried Stefan, "You should go to Elena".

"I can't leave you alone" Stefan protested.

"Stefan, I'm a werewolf, I can protect myself" Lily assured, "You need to go protect the girl you love, go, I'll be fine".

"You see anything out of the ordinary, then call me straight away, okay?" Stefan said.

Lily nodded her head, "I will, now go check on Elena, I'm fine".

Stefan nodded and after looking around one last time, making sure there was no suspicious activity around Lily, once he was sure, he finally walked away from her and towards Elena, finally allowing Lily to walk over to Klaus.

"Special dedication huh?" Klaus, in Alaric's body, asked Lily, seeing her approach him, "This guy's a little twisted".

"Let's not play this game, you and me both know, I know who you are" Lily said, getting straight to the point.

Klaus smirked at Lily, "And who am I exactly?".

"Klaus" Lily replied.

Klaus chuckled, "You're a smart one, aren't you?".

"I'm smart, but I didn't figure this out because of my smartness, it was because of my dreams" Lily informed.

"Dreams, huh?" Klaus asked.

"Yeah" Lily confirmed, "Dreams that I have a feeling you know something about, so, mind telling me why the hell am I dreaming about you?".

"Sure" Klaus said, "But not here".

"Then where?" an impatient Lily asked.

"Find me tomorrow, and I'll answer all your questions" Klaus promised.

"How the hell am I supposed to find you tomorrow?" an annoyed Lily asked.

Klaus shrugged, "Use the smartness you claim to have, little luna".

"Don't nickname me" Lily warned.

"Why not?" Klaus asked, "You don't like it?".

"I don't know you, I don't trust you, according to everyone else you're the bad guy so bad guys don't get to nickname me" Lily stated.

"Everyone else thinks I'm the bad guy, but what do you think?" Klaus asked curiously.

Lily looked at Klaus, "I don't know you to think anything of you" she said, "I'll see you tomorrow, Nik".

Klaus smiled, "See you tomorrow, little Luna".

After killing Bonnie at the decade dance, Klaus climbed the stairs up to Alaric's apartment, reaching the top of the stairs, a smirk formed on Klaus's face seeing Lily leaning against the front door, still wearing her clothes from the decade dance.

"Told you I'm smart" Lily said.

"I never doubted you" Klaus said, walking over to Lily.

"I need to know, Klaus" Lily said.

"What exactly do you want to know?" Klaus asked.

"Everything" Lily replied, "I want to know everything about this sun and moon curse, about you, about us".

"Very well then" Klaus said, he forwarded his hand towards Lily, "If you want answers, you're going to have to take a leap and trust me".

Lily narrowed her eyes at Klaus, "You're not planning to kidnap me, are you?".

"Not yet" Klaus replied.

Lily shook her head at Klaus, but nonetheless placed her hand into Klaus's, "Don't make me regret this".

"I would never" Klaus assured.
