04. Disturbing Behavior

Klaus and Stefan sat in the waiting room of a boutique, drinking champagne and waiting for Lily and Rebekah to be done with their shopping.

"There has to be more to this dress" Rebekah complained, from inside the dressing room.

"There's not" Klaus informed.

Rebekah stepped out of the dressing room, wearing a short black dress, "So women in the 21st century dress like prostitutes, then?".

"No, only prostitutes dress like prostitutes" Lily said, also stepping out of the dressing and walking over to the mirror to look at herself, "What you're wearing is called 21st century fashion".

Klaus looked at Lily and suddenly he froze, Lily was wearing an off the shoulder dark green dress, that was tight on her waist but flowed down her legs and stopped at her ankles, and with her brown hair open and wavey, Klaus couldn't help but think that she looked extremely breath taking.

"You know, I got dirty looks for wearing trousers" Rebekah complained.

"You wore trousers so women today could wear nothing" Klaus retorted, his eyes still on Lily, who looked at him through the mirror and raised an eyebrow, "Some women, not all" he corrected.

"Better" Lily said, smoothing her dress in the mirror, she then looked at her best friend, "So?".

"If you like it, I like it" Stefan simply said.

"That does not help my dilemma of whether I should buy this dress or not, especially considering I'm not a dress person" Lily said, looking at herself back in the mirror.

"If you're not a dress person, why do you want to buy one?" a confused Rebekah asked.

"Because your brother told me whatever I buy he will pay for, so I decided to buy the most expensive thing here, which happened to be this" Lily replied, making both Stefan and Rebekah chuckle, while an amused Klaus simply shook his head.

"I like her" Rebekah told Klaus, "Now tell me, what is this music? It sounds like a cable car accident".

"It's dance music" Stefan informed.

"People dance to this?" a disgusted Rebekah asked.

"Hm" Stefan confirmed.

"Are we done?" Klaus asked his sister.

"And why are you so grumpy?" a confused Rebekah asked.

"Isn't he always grumpy?" Lily asked.

"That is true" Rebekah realised, "But today he's extra grumpy".

"I needed one thing from you for my witch to find out why my hybrids were dying" Klaus said, "One thing, your necklace, and you lost it".

"I didn't lose it, it's just been missing for ninety years" Rebekah defended, she then looked at Stefan, "So, what do you think?".

Stefan shrugged, "I like it", making Rebekah give him a look, "What? I said I like it".

"I can always tell when you're lying, Stefan" Rebekah said, walking back into the dressing room to try out more clothes.

A confused Stefan looked at Klaus, wondering what he said wrong, "Nice one, good work" Klaus said.

"You're the one who pulled the dagger out of her" Stefan retorted.

"I heard that" Rebekah said from inside the dressing room.

"All right, I'm gonna get some fresh air" Stefan said, standing up, before leaving he looked at his best friend, "Stop overthinking it Lily, and just buy it".

"Shh" Lily said, waving her hand at Stefan, "I'm busy overthinking".

Stefan let out a chuckle, before walking out the boutique, as soon as Stefan left, Klaus stood up from his seat and walked over to Lily and stood behind her, Lily looked at him through the mirror.

"You look stunning, little luna" Klaus whispered, "Buy it".

"You sure?" a slightly hesitant Lily asked.

"Positive" Klaus replied, "This dress is made just for you".

Lily turned around and faced the Klaus, realising the lack of space between them.

"Are all originals as cheesy as you?" Lily wondered.

Klaus's eyes flickered between Lily's eyes and lips, "I don't know, never paid any attention to my siblings flirting techniques".

"You're flirting with me?" Lily whispered, having seen Klaus's eyes wonder to her lips, and now she found it hard to breathe.

"Isn't it obvious?" Klaus asked, slightly leaning closer to Lily, their noses now touching.

"Klaus I--".

"Shhh" Klaus whispered, placing a finger on Lily's lips, "Don't ruin the moment, little luna".

Lily looked at Klaus, then at his lips and just as Klaus was about to kiss her, they heard, "I think I found the perfect outfit!" Rebekah yelled from the dressing room, immediately breaking Lily out of her Klaus trance, causing her to take a step back from him and before Klaus could say anything to her, Lily ran into the dressing room again, cursing herself in her mind for what she was about to do.

"Dammit Rebekah!" a frustrated Klaus said.

"What did I do?" a confused Rebekah asked, finally stepping out of the dressing room, "And where's Lily?".

Klaus didn't say anything, instead he just shook his head in annoyance and went back and sat in his seat and once again started drinking, trying very hard not to dagger his sister again.

"You left us" Rebekah complained, sitting on top of Gloria's bar.

"Yeah, sorry" Stefan apologised, entering the bar, "Retail therapy was making my head explode".

"I don't know, I think retail therapy had some perks" Klaus said, looking at Lily.

Lily glared at Klaus and without saying anything to him, downed a shot of tequila, wanting to burn the memory of what happened in that boutique out of her mind.

"What's she doing?" a curious Stefan asked, looking at Gloria who was kneeling by a table of candles, her eyes closed, and her grimoire infront of her.

"She's failing" an annoyed Klaus informed.

"It's hard to find something when you don't have anything to go on" Gloria snapped, annoyed with Klaus's taunts.

"So use me, I only wore it for a thousand years" Rebekah suggested, jumping off the bar and walking over to Gloria.

"See?" Gloria said, "Now this one offers a solution, all right, give me your hand, sweetheart".

Rebekah sat on the table and placed her hand in Gloria's.

"She's looking for the necklace, huh?" a suddenly panicked Stefan asked, but no one saw his panic.

"I can sense something" Gloria suddenly said, her hold on Rebekah's hand got tighter and she started chanting, after a moment, she finally opened her eyes and looked at Klaus, "I found it".

"So where is it?" an eager Rebekah asked.

"It doesn't work like that, doll" Gloria said, shaking her head, "I get images, there's a girl with her friends".

"Yes, a dead girl with dead friends, if I don't get my necklace back" Rebekah snapped.

"I have to dive back in and to get the details" Gloria said.

"So dive" Klaus demanded, walking over to Gloria.

"I need more time" Gloria stated, as Klaus leaned over her table, "And space, you're harshing my juju".

"We can wait" Klaus assured.

"I'm sure you can" Gloria said, "But that's not what I asked".

"Hey" Stefan said, walking over to Klaus and patting his shoulder, "Hey, you know, why don't we just come back later, I'm hungry anyway", Stefan leaned into Klaus's ear, "I'll let you pick who we eat".

"Yeah, I don't need to be there for that" a grossed out Lily said, downing another shot.

"Yes, you do, Lils" Stefan stated, walking over to the Forbes werewolf and grabbing her arm and then throwing her over his shoulder, knowing she was too drunk to walk on her own.

"This is barbaric!" Lily yelled.

"Deal with it" Stefan simply said, walking out of Gloria's bar with Lily.

Klaus and Rebekah exchanged amused looks among them, before finally deciding to follow the best friends out.

"My girl's dead, I'm bored" Rebekah complained, sitting on top of a crate and watching her brother and Stefan still drinking from their girls.

"Welcome to the club" Lily said, laying on another crate, her arm across her head with her eyes closed.

Klaus stood feeding and looked at Stefan, "You weren't kidding about being hungry".

Stefan stopped feeding and looked at Klaus, "It's been a long day".

"Try being related to her" Klaus said, gesturing to Rebekah.

"You're being mean" Rebekah said, as Stefan chuckled, "And why are you being mean? You used to love me".

"That was ninety years ago" Lily reminded, "Give him a break".

"Why are you taking his side?" Rebekah asked Lily.

"Because his my best friend and you're a stranger" Lily replied, sitting up.

"But we're girls, we have to stick together" Rebekah stated.

"I don't know you so I can't stick with you" Lily retorted.

"You know, my dear sister, I feel pity for any man who doesn't give you what you want" Klaus said.

"Will you stop making me out to be a brat, I'm not a brat" Rebekah snapped, glaring at her brother.

"A thousand years of life experience says otherwise" Klaus taunted.

"You realise, you're no better, right?" Lily told Klaus, "You are as bad as Rebekah, maybe even worse".

Rebekah laughed hearing Lily, "Fantastic, see it wasn't that hard to take my side, was it?".

"If it's against your brother, then I'm always on your side" Lily replied, giving Klaus a mock smile, who simply shook his head in amusement at her.

Stefan placed the girl he killed on to the floor and stood up, "I need to go" he announced.

"Bye, bye" Lily waved.

"Take care" Stefan told Lily, before walking out the warehouse.

"Where's he going?" a confused Rebekah asked.

"To write a name on a wall" Klaus replied, "It's a long story".

***

After Stefan had gone god knows where, Klaus decided to check on Gloria and he forced Lily to come with him while Rebekah stayed in the warehouse, waiting for Stefan to return, but after going to the bar and realising Gloria was gone, both Klaus and Lily made their way back to the warehouse.

"Gloria's gone, she has cleared out, we need to find a new witch immediately" Klaus announced, walking over to Rebekah and Stefan, immediately he frowned see the tension between them, "What's going on?".

"Something's wrong, he was asking about Mikael" Rebekah informed.

"Whose Mikael?" a confused Lily asked.

"He's not with us Nik, I can sense it" Rebekah told her brother, ignoring Lily's question.

"She's wrong" Stefan immediately told Klaus, "Klaus".

For a second Klaus simply glared at Stefan, before speeding over to Stefan and snapping his beck, Rebekah then speeded over to Lily and held her by her neck against the wall, chocking her.

"What is Stefan hiding?" Rebekah asked.

"How the hell am I meant to know?" Lily chocked out.

Klaus speeded over to Rebekah and pushed her away from Lily.

"Nik, she has to know something, she's Stefan's best friend!" Rebekah said, "She has to know what Stefan's hiding".

"I don't know what Stefan's hiding, ever since the sacrifice I've been with your brother and ever since I defended Elijah, they don't trust me enough to tell me anything they plan against the originals" Lily snapped.

"You're lying!" Rebekah snapped.

"I don't give a rats ass if you believe me or not Rebekah" Lily snapped back, glaring at Rebekah, she then turned to Klaus who was looking at her, "But I need you to believe me Klaus, I don't know what's going with Stefan, I don't know what's he hiding or who he's protecting".

Klaus stared at Lily for a moment, who was looking at him with a pleading expression on her face, really wanting him to believe her, after a moment Klaus nodded his head, letting Lily know he believed her, immediately causing Lily to breath a sigh of relief, for some reason it was important to her that Klaus knew that she has never lied to him.

"Pack your things" Klaus told both Lily and Rebekah.

"Why?" a confused Rebekah asked.

"Because I have a feeling to find out what Stefan is hiding, we have to go back to the town all this started" Klaus replied.

"Mystic Falls" Lily whispered.
