11. Catch Me If You Can

"No way, I'm not doing this" Jeremy protested, still standing in the bar that was slowly being filled with newly turned vampires.

"What makes you think you have a choice?" Klaus asked.

"You have to kill vampires to complete the hunter's mark" Damon reminded the Gilbert boy, "Mark equals cure, you're in a bar full of almost vampires, so get your hunt on".

"Screw you, you said I wouldn't have to kill any innocent people" Jeremy snapped.

"Jeremy, they're not people" Damon defended.

"Enough, have at it, or else" Klaus threatened.

"I don't take orders from you, dick" Jeremy retorted, throwing the stake in his hand on to the bar floor, "Hunter's can't be compelled".

Klaus let out an amused chuckle as he walked over to Jeremy, "You're right, I can't compel you, but if your conscience is getting in the way, then allow me to make it easy for you, because I can compel them, I'm gonna give you a two minute head start, then I'm gonna send every vampire here after you, you kill them or they kill your friend, Matt".

"Whoa, wait a second" Matt protested, looking at Damon for help.

"No, no, you turn them, he kills them" Damon stated, "That was the deal, Klaus".

"I'm taking artistic license" Klaus retorted.

"You know he can't take them all on at the same time" Damon said.

"With you as his coach he'll be fine, it's Matt I'm worried about" Klaus said.

Damon let out a frustrated sigh, "Jeremy, go get the weapons out of the car, I'll be right behind you" as Jeremy rushed out the bar, Damon looked at Matt, "Both of you".

"If I hear an engine start, I'll kill Matt myself!" Klaus warned.

A panicked Elena entered the Mikaelson mansion, she heard noise coming from the living room so she quickly rushed there where to her shock she saw Lily straddling Klaus, the werewolf and hybrid being involved in a pretty heated make out session.

"Lily, Klaus!" Elena called out.

Lily let out an annoyed groan hearing Elena's voice but nonetheless stopped kissing Klaus who glared at the doppelganger for interrupting his time with Lily, "What the hell do you want Elena?" an annoyed Lily asked.

"Kol attacked Jeremy and Damon" Elena informed, "Jeremy got away but Kol still has Damon".

"Well here's hoping Kol will finally kill him" Lily said, giving Elena a mock smile before getting off of Klaus's lap and walking over to the table where the bourbon was.

"A bit ironic, you coming to me for help" Klaus mocked, "Weren't your friends just trying to bury me in a cement tomb?".

"This is your fault, you started this when you forced Jeremy to kill those vampires" Elena reminded.

"And now my little brat of a brother has gone and made things worse" an amused Klaus asked.

"I don't know" Lily said, grabbing her glass of bourbon and walking behind Klaus, she leaned down and wrapped her arms around Klaus, "I think he might be making things better".

Klaus let out a small chuckle while Elena glared at Lily, "Well, you and Kol both never did like Damon" Klaus said, kissing Lily's hand.

"No we don't" Lily confirmed, before standing up straight and downing her drink.

Klaus turned to Elena, "I supposed I should do something, shouldn't I?".

"Call him off, Klaus" Elena demanded.

"For someone so helpless, how can you still think you're in any position to make demands?" Lily asked.

"Lily's right, whilst I'd like to cure you to make more hybrids I do have other reasons for finding the cure not the least of which is destroying it so you lot can't use it against me" Klaus said.

"Whatever our differences, we want the same thing" Elena reminded, "Please Klaus, I'm begging you".

A smirk formed on Klaus's face hearing the pleading voice in Elena's voice, he finally pulled his phone out of his jacket and dialed his brother, "Little brother" he greeted, "Just two days home and I'm told you've already gone and made a mess".

"Come on Nik, I was only having some fun" Kol defended.

"Those vampires were for my hunter" Klaus informed.

"Well, make some more, there's no shortage of people" Kol retorted.

"Where's Damon Salvatore?" Klaus asked.

"Hopefully dead" Lily mumbled as she poured herself another drink.

Kol chuckled hearing Lily, "Unfortunately he's not dead, but I did give him a good and proper beating, just for old times sake".

"Good job" Lily said.

Klaus shook his head at his brother and girlfriend, "Yes, well, you've had your fun, now let him go and come home, avoid any more trouble or you'll find yourself back in a box".

"Hey, no need to be nasty about it" Kol said, as Lily glared at her boyfriend.

"On the contrary, I find nastiness to be essential whenever my siblings try to sabotage me, listen closely Kol, stay away from the Gilbert boy, you understand?" Klaus asked.

"Fine, I won't touch him, you have my word" Kol promised, hanging up on his brother.

"Going somewhere?" Rebekah asked, blocking Kol's path as he tried to leave the Mikaelson mansion, "I would if I were you, if Damon kills the hunter, Nik will not be pleased".

"I told Nik I wouldn't touch the kid, I didn't" a smug Kol said.

"Yeah well that was clever, I'm sure he'll really appericate it" Rebekah said, a sarcastic tone in her voice.

Kol tried to walk past Rebekah when suddenly she placed a dagger on his back, "You'd really dagger me?" a shocked Kol asked his sister.

"If I do, Damon's compulsion ends and this is all over" Rebekah stated.

"And then you're no better than Niklaus, daggering siblings when you disagree with them" Kol said, "Look at what this family has become, I mean, Elijah won't even show his face, he's so disgusted by our bickering, this cure has ruined us, and it hasn't even been found yet, just imagine what would happen if it is".

"This family was ruined long before we knew about the cure" Rebekah said, Kol suddenly used his vampire speed to try to stake Rebekah with the white oak stake, but Rebekah quickly grabbed his wrist, "Kol".

"I won't let you raise Silas" Kol said.

Suddenly Lily appeared between the two siblings and shoved Kol and Rebekah away from each other, "What the hell is wrong with you two?!".

"Enough with this foolishness, put it down, Kol" Klaus warned, also walking into the room.

Kol ignored Klaus and simply speeded out of the room, Rebekah took a breath of relief before turning to her other brother, "He was going to kill me".

"Well, then, I think you need a lesson in how to properly dagger a sibling" Klaus mocked.

"Burn in hell" an angry Rebekah said, before walking out the room.

"Is daggering and trying to kill each other the only way you Mikaelson's know how to solve your problems?" Lily asked Klaus.

"Pretty much, yeah" Klaus admitted.

Lily shook her head in response, "Maybe you guys need some conflict resolutions classes".

Klaus let out a small chuckle, "I'm not sure that will work, little luna".

"Well you guys need to try something, because daggering and trying to kill each other is not a solution" Lily stated.

"I don't know, it works pretty well for me" Klaus said.

"It's like talking to a brick wall" Lily said, making Klaus chuckle.

Klaus walked up the porch of the Gilbert house and knocked on their front door, "Good evening, Gilbert clan" he greeted, when Elena opened the door and behind her stood Jeremy.

"What do you want, Klaus?" an annoyed Elena, in no mood to deal with any of the Mikaelson's right now.

"I've come to fetch my hunter" Klaus informed, "Seeing as how my brother's become a liability, Jeremy will be safer with me".

Elena looked at her brother, "I think I'll pass" Jeremy said, "I've killed enough people for you today".

"You think you're safer here?" Klaus asked, looking at the threshold of the Gilbert house, "Clearly you don't know Kol, he'll stop at nothing to get what he wants, so strange as it may seem, I'm your best bet".

"Sorry, but I think we'd rather take our chances" Elena said.

"Fine" Klaus finally said, "But when Kol does come, and he will come, be sure to let me know, preferably before he burns your nice little home to the ground", Klaus turned to Jeremy, "And as for you hunter, there's no shortage of people to turn or loved ones to threaten, so sleep well, we'll plan on finishing our work tomorrow".
