11. By The Light Of The Moon

"Why is that damn video still playing?" Lily asked, entering the Lockwood's office and seeing Tyler packing a bag, all ready for the full moon tomorrow.

A panicked Tyler looked at Lily, "Has Mason contacted you yet?".

Lily shook her head, "Nope, I sent him many messages and voicemails, and all I got was one text, in Florida, don't know when I will come back".

Tyler sighed, he then picked the office phone up and dialed Mason's number.

"He's not going to pick up Ty, he's given up on Mystic Falls, on us" Lily said, angry and hurt with Mason for walking out on both her and Tyler.

"I need to try, one last time" Tyler said, waiting for Mason to pick up, "Come on, come on", but to both his and Lily's disappointment, Mason didn't pick up.

"Hey, it's Mason, leave a message".

"Mason, it's Tyler again" Tyler said, deciding to leave Mason one last voicemail, "Look, your cell's voicemail is full, I need to talk to you, it's a full moon tomorrow and I found your recording, and I'm freaking out over here, so just call me back, please".

Next morning, Tyler and Lily, who had slept over at the Lockwood's, got ready to leave the mansion.

"Heading out?" Carol asked, walking over to the two friends.

"Yeah" Tyler replied, "Lunch at the Grill, I've got practice and Lily's gonna watch, then we'll probably go out after, I'll be late".

Before Carol could say anything the doorbell rang.

"I've got it" Lily said, opening the front door and seeing a girl she has never seen before standing infront of her, "Yes?".

"Hi, sorry, rude, you have no idea who I am, I'm Jules, a friend of Mason's from Florida?", Jules looked between Lily and Tyler, "You two must be Lily and Tyler".

"Yeah, nice to meet you" Tyler said shaking Jules hand, while Lily looked at the women infront of her in suspicion.

"So I know it's weird of me to just stop by but I'm trying to track down Mason" Jules informed, confusing everyone.

"Mason's back in Florida, he has been for a while now" Carol informed.

"See, that's the thing, he's not" Jules revealed.

Lily and Tyler turned to each other in concern, both wondering if Mason wasn't in Florida then where did he go.

"Hey" Caroline greeted her sister and Tyler as they walked into the Grill, she frowned seeing their worried faces, "What's wrong?".

"This girl Mason knows stopped by the house" Tyler informed, "She said he never made it back to Florida, my mom's freaking out, and she was on the phone with your mom when I left, we should get going".

"Yeah" a shocked Caroline whispered, making Lily frown.

As Tyler walked out the Grill, Caroline went to follow when Lily grabbed her wrist.

"Do you know something?" Lily asked her sister, "Do you know what happened to Mason?".

"What?" Caroline asked, "No, of course not".

Lily narrowed her eyes at her sister, "You voice just did that thing that tells me you're lying, I swear to god Caroline, if I find out something has happened to Mason and you knew about it, I will never forgive you, that man was there for me when even my own mother wasn't, so god help, if somethings gone wrong with him and you're involved, we're gonna have a serious problem".

"Lils--".

Lily ignored Caroline's call and simply walked out the Grill, while a guilty Caroline stood there in shock, realising because of her keeping what Damon did to Mason a secret, she was going to lose her sister's trust forever.

Caroline drove herself, Tyler and Lily into the woods, Tyler and Lily stepped out of the car and walked over to the boot and grabbed their respective bags.

"You know, maybe he just, like, stopped to go surf somewhere" Caroline offered, hoping to stop both Tyler and Lily finding out the truth, not wanting to lose either of their trust, "You know, isn't that Mason's whole thing?".

"Maybe" Tyler said, "This girl seemed to think he would've called".

"I'm sure he's okay" Caroline assured.

"You better hope so" Lily said, her sister's words confirmed her doubts of her knowing what happened to Mason.

"Anyway, let's do this" Tyler said, as the trio walked towards the old Lockwood cellar.

"So you'll call me as soon as you hear anything?" Jules asked as Carol walked her towards the front door.

"Of course" Carol assured, opening the front door.

Jules went to walk out, when she suddenly remembered something, "Oh, I didn't get to say goodbye to your son and his friend".

"I'm afraid, they're at the Grill with their other friends" Carol informed, "I'll let them know", Jules nodded and once again went to leave but this time Carol stopped her, "Jules" she said, making Jules turn to her, "Let's hope for the best".

Jules gave Carol a small smile and walked out the door, as soon as she got into her car, she made sure Carol had shut the door, she then picked her phone and called someone.

"Hey, I'm here" Jules said into the phone, "No one knows where Mason is, he's missing, you were right, Mason was lying, there's two other werewolves in this town, his nephew and his nephew's best friend".

Caroline and Lily watched as Tyler tied the chains to bolts in the wall.

"Tell me you brought the instruction manual" Caroline said, looking down at everything Tyler brought with him, compared to Lily who only brought a change of clothes.

"Tell me one of you brought the wolfsbane" Tyler retorted.

"Do I look like an idiot?" Lily asked, "Why will I ever touch wolfsbane?".

"I brought the wolfsbane" Caroline informed Tyler, "Um, not an easy herb to find", Caroline grabbed it from her bag and pulled the herb out of the plastic bag she had placed it in, "This is it".

Tyler went to touch it but Lily quickly slapped his hand away, "It will burn you, stupid".

"Right" Tyler said, nodding his head in understanding, he then turned back to Caroline, "I got water bottles in my bag, we can mix it in there".

As Caroline put wolfsbane in Tyler's water bottle, Tyler walked over to the chains, "The guy at the hardware store said this setup was rated up to five thousand pounds".

"Is that more than a werewolf can pull?" Caroline asked.

"We're about to find out tonight" Lily said.

Caroline looked at her sister, "Where's your chains?" she asked.

"I'm not turning here" Lily informed.

"Then where are you turning?" a confused Tyler asked.

"In the woods" Lily replied.

"Seriously?" Caroline asked, "Lily, what if you end up hurting someone?".

"Relax Caroline, the last full moon I turned in the woods and I had a little bit of control over myself, I didn't hurt anyone" Lily assured, "After experiencing the rush of running free in the woods as a wolf, I can't chain myself up again, I won't chain myself".

"And you're not going to drink the wolfsbane water either?" Tyler asked.

"Nope" Lily replied, "Look Ty, you see this is an actually curse and I get why, but I don't, I love what I am and yes the process hurts but the feeling of being a wolf is something magical, I'm not going to stop you from trying to weaken yourself but I'm not doing that".

Both Caroline and Tyler nodded and deep down both of them felt proud of her, they knew how in the past Lily struggled to find her true self, they were happy though it a while finally Lily was happy in her own skin.

"Hey guys, how you two feeling?" Caroline asked.

"Still human" Tyler assured.

"We won't start turning till the moon reaches it's apex" Lily informed.

Tyler nodded, he then went into the corner and started taking his shirt off.

"Oh, my god, you're not gonna get naked, are you?" Caroline asked.

"He kind of has to" Lily said, taking her jacket off and leaving herself in her tank top and shorts.

"It's elastic" Tyler informed Caroline, who had her eyes covered, "What should I wear? I don't think it's like the Hulk where I get to keep my pants, right Lily?".

"Right" Lily confirmed.

"What time is it?" Tyler asked Caroline, having chained himself up.

Caroline looked at her phone, "It's almost eight" she informed, "What time does the moon crest or whatever?".

"It's not going to reach its apex for a while" Lily said, sitting on the ground.

Tyler looked at Lily, "Shouldn't you leave?".

"I'll leave when it starts, till then I'm staying right here with you" Lily said.

Tyler gave Lily a grateful smile, "Mason's journal said the first transformation can happen before the moon hits its apex".

Caroline looked at Lily for conformation, Lily simply gave her a nod, Caroline sighed and then looked at Tyler, "Does it say in there how long you'll actually be a wolf?".

"A few hours" Tyler guessed, "Maybe more, maybe less".

"Since you're new, your transformation is going to take longer then how long you stay a wolf" Lily informed.

Tyler nodded in understanding, he then grabbed the wolfsbane water.

"Ty, don't do this" Lily said, "It's not going to end well".

Tyler sighed, "I have to Lily, Mason said it will diminish my strength so I can't break free", both Caroline and Lily watched as Tyler started drinking the wolfsbane water.

"Tyler" Caroline warned, seeing the Lockwood not slowing down.

"Take small sips" Lily snapped.

Tyler suddenly fell to the floor, coughing all the water out.

"Tyler!" Caroline and Lily yelled, rushing over to him.

"Don't!" Tyler yelled, as the two sister tried to help him.

"Shh" Caroline whispered, as Lily rubbed his back.

"Don't! Just don't!" Tyler yelled at the sisters.

"Tyler, calm down" Lily said, "If you don't calm down, you're going to end up hurting yourself more then you hurt us".

After a while, Tyler managed to calm down, he then looked at both Caroline and Lily in guilt, "I'm sorry" he apologised.

"It's okay" Lily whispered, hugging her best friend, "You're going to be okay".

"I'm burning up" Tyler cried.

Lily went towards Tyler to help when suddenly she fell to the floor yelling in pain.

"Lily!" Caroline yelled, running over to her sister.

"Ah!" Lily yelled, as both her and Tyler started yelling "Care, it's starting, I-I have to go".

Caroline nodded her head in understanding, "Go, I'm here with Tyler, you go".

Lily nodded and quickly rushed out the cellar, she ran as far as she could and as much as the pain would allow her to, she then fell to the floor as the bones in her arms and legs started breaking.

As her eyes started glowing yellow, Lily looked up at the moon and let out a loud howl, unaware that her howl had reached the ears of an certain original who was currently also in the woods.

"Ah!" Lily cried, as her bones kept cracking.

"Lily?".

Lily looked up and saw Elijah infront of her, "Elijah?" she whispered, falling to the ground as the bones in her back started cracking, "Y-you're a-alive?".

Elijah kneeled infront of Lily and removed her sweaty hair from her face, "I'm an original, I can't die this easily".

Lily stared at Elijah for a moment, their staring contest was interrupted when pain once again shot through her body, causing her to push Elijah away from her, "Go, leave Elijah, I don't want to hurt you".

Elijah shook his head, "You won't hurt me".

Lily looked at Elijah, her eyes fully transformed into her wolf eyes, "Go, Elijah!".

"Stop fighting the transformation Lily, the more you fight it, the more painful it will get" Elijah said.

Lily couldn't say anything to Elijah even if she wanted to as once again her bones started to crack, Elijah stood up and took a small step back, he watched in fascination as Lily transformed into a big black werewolf.

Lily growled at Elijah, and to his surprise Lily didn't attack him, she just ran away, for a werewolf to not attack a vampire in their wolf form was unheard of, but here Lily Forbes has once again managed to surprise Elijah Mikaelson.

Once the full moon was gone, a naked Lily woke up in the middle of the woods, extremely exhausted from last night, everything hurt, she had no energy to get up let alone get up and go find her sister and Tyler.

As an exhausted Lily laid in the middle of the woods, suddenly someone put their coat over her, Lily opened her eyes and saw Elijah hovering over her.

"Elijah?" Lily whispered.

"Hello, Lily" Elijah greeted.

"Are you stalking me?" Lily asked, closing her eyes again.

"I'm here to make sure you're okay" Elijah replied.

"I just broke every single bone in my body about two hundred times, I'm anything but okay" Lily said.

"Come on, let's get you home" Elijah said, picking Lily up in his arms.

"For someone who I'm supposed to be scared of, you aren't that scary" Lily whispered, slowly dozing off in Elijah's arms.

Elijah chuckled, "Go to sleep Lily" he simply said.

"Don't kidnap me again" Lily warned.

"You have nothing to worry about, I promise you are safe with me" Elijah promised.

"Call me crazy, but I believe you" Lily said, finally letting sleep take over.
