10 | family meetings

Damian hated having brothers — especially ones as nosey as his. But he supposed they were better then nothing. The Wayne brothers had gone to a cafe where Bruce and Alfred could not over hear them. Damian didn't care (or so he says) for this secret meeting, but nonetheless had come along.

The youngest sat, arms crossed staring at Jason, Tim, Dick and Virgil. He was pretty sure Virgil García and Stephenie Brown had invited themselves into the family. He was also unsure how the two were friends considering their relations to Tim. Stephenie was his ex whilst Virgil was Tim's current.

Lucky for him, he only had to deal with one extra family member.

Damian observed his adopted brothers and Virgil. They were good at masking their concern — even Jason Todd who claimed he did not like the 'child of Satan' at all.

Dick was easily his favourite brother — very closely followed by Virgil, who wasn't his brother not lived at the manor as he liked to point out.

Jason was easily his ideal least favourite — but that was hard to prove considering the two seemed to argue the least out of the whole weird family. Maybe there was a mutual understanding? Or maybe the two cared so little for the other (or so they say) that there was no point?

Virgil looked at Dick, kicking him in the shin to tell him to start the conversation. The two had spoken since the eldest had come home, and most of the conversations had been about Damian Wayne and a girl he sneaks off to see. A girl he had labelled as Svetlana.

Dick leaned down, his hand rubbing his shin — god forbid Virgil didn't physically assault someone with his docs. But after receiving another threatening look, he turned to the youngest sibling.

"Were worried about you." He admitted to the teenager.

Damian couldn't have cared less, but it was nice to be cared for. He almost felt wanted — he kind of understood why Svetlana would smile to herself when he mentioned about the injuries or her climbing through her window.

"I'm perfectly capable at looking after myself." He said after a tut directed at Dick.

"We're worried that there's a girl—"

"Girls are gross."

Virgil leaned his head on Jason, burying his face into the leather sleeve. He almost forgot how difficult Damian could be when people weren't blunt.

Jason pushed him off his shoulder telling him to 'be gay somewhere else'. Something Virgil didn't care about, the two had been friends since they were children and Jason knew the lines and where he can or can't cross.

"Dami, you took some of mine and Tim's evidence about the new gang, but only the photos with a particular girl in them."

Damian stared at Virgil, imagining the many ways he could kill him — but he wouldn't, not because of the rules but because not only would it hurt Virgil physically, it would hurt him and his brothers. So as much as he liked to believe he didn't care, he did. He really did care.

"I know her, wanted to take my chance."

"You accused your girlfriend of being apart of a gang?" Jason spoke, finding the situation hilarious. A laugh escaped his throat, but he was harshly elbowed by his best friend and kicked by his eldest brother.

Damian's eyes widened. "She's not . . . I . . . we're not . . . no."

"Heard that one before." Tim said, looking at Dick knowingly as Virgil high-fived him.

Dick turned his attention from the other three, deciding all ties were cut when he was making fun of him. "It's ok to like her."

"I'm obviously allergic to her." Damian corrected, all defences in his mind coming to play as he stared directly at Dick, threatening him to stop talking further.

Jason cocked a brow. "And you say I'm the stupid one. Damian Jason-Is-Superior Wayne, you can't be allergic to one specific person."

"Reminder, I'm the blood son."

"Reminder, I slept wit—"

"You mention my mother and you'll be chocked by your one small intestine."

"It was technically rape." Virgil said between coughs, punching his chest to add to the drama of it.

Damian wanted to glare at Virgil for speaking bad of his mother — but he also knew it was true

"Damian, Jason, Virgil, please stop making a scene people are staring as it is." Dick scolded looking between the three with a pointed look.

The two best friends looked at each other with a look many friends face each other before laughing. It was safe to say they followed through with the laughter.

"Dick, shut up, this is great entertainment."

Tim received Dick's look making Jason and Virgil grasp each others arms as they laughed, leaning towards one another.

"Useless." The eldest mumbled to himself. "Dami why do you think you're allergic to her?"

Damian went to list many symptoms that gave his siblings blackmail material. The youngest Robin was oblivious to what he was saying and how far off he was.

"Damian, you like her."

"No I—" Damian's eyes widened.

"You accused your crush of being a terrorist." Jason clapped, it seemed that in Damian's mistakes and misery, he was finding great enjoyment.

Virgil patted Damian's hand with sympathy, before taking the boys hand into his. "Give Dick your phone." Damian followed through. "Dick, pull a fifteen year old girl."

"Not when you say it like that, but I'm on it." Dick complied, holding the phone to Damian's face to unlock it before finding 'Svetlana' in the contacts.

There were no texts or calls made between the two but the contact had been there for a small while. Dick was in full concentration as he typed very fast on the phone, an over wordy apology before handing it back to Damian.

"Correct this to your words but still get this meaning across."

"The meaning?"

"You fucked up. And that won't happen on my watch."

So through the magic of Dick Grayson, Damian Wayne had sent his first message to Svetlana Orlova.
