Zelkov

It was that time of year where everyone fell sick to something, whether it be from the cold or something else. Not you, however. You were sick from a sinus infection that made you have to quarantine yourself from everyone in order to not get them sick too. It was also the Divine Dragon's orders that you were to be on bed rest, so you couldn't even help out around to cure your boredom.

As you were laying in bed rotting away, there was a knock at your door. You were confused as to who it could be as everyone had orders to stay away from you until you were better. "Come in."

The door opened and to your surprise it was Zelkov who entered inside wearing a mask covering his nose and mouth. "Zelkov? What are you doing here?"

"The Divine Dragon asked me to help." Zelkov clarified as he pulled out some cleaning supplies. "How are you feeling?"

You watched as Zelkov started to disinfect every surface of your room. You couldn't exactly blame him since you were coughing and sneezing like crazy from your sinus infection. "There's a pressure in my forehead. My left ear has been ringing non stop. My body aches all over and I can't taste anything. It all tastes bland on my tongue."

"I see. I shall have to make my special medicine."

Zelkov scrubbed and scrubbed every surface of your room as you just laid in your bed and watched him. To be honest, this was the most entertaining thing that has happened since you became sick. It felt nice to have some company.

Once the room was cleaned enough to his satisfaction, Zelkov got to work making herbal medicine for you to take. The room was filled with the smell of different scents you had never smelled before. It touched your heart a little that Zelkov was going out of his way to help you recover faster, even if it was under orders.

The paste he presented to you was a weird color of a reddish green. It did not look like it would taste good in the slightest. "I have made a paste for you to consume. Tea would make it go down easier given your swollen throat."

"Yes... please. That would be great."

Without another word, Zelkov got to work on making his signature tea. It was something his mother always made for him whenever he and his twin brother were sick. He never imagined he would be making it for someone else other than him. He mixed together a blend of ginger, thyme, and chamomile that filled the room with the scent of herbs. You could barely smell it through your blocked sinuses, which was probably a blessing since it was rather powerful. Once it was ready, he put small bits of the paste in at a time before adding the rest of it in. It was an interesting color of brown, a color you never saw tea before.

Zelkov presented it to you, looking at you with an unflinching gaze. "I suggest drinking it slowly. Unless, would you prefer I add honey?"

Looking at it was like looking at a potion that claimed to cure any symptoms. Maybe honey would help counteract the interesting taste that would soon invade your taste buds. "Yes, please. Definitely mix it together with honey."

"As you wish."

Zelkov added about a teaspoon of honey and mixed it into the tea. It would help with the bitterness of the herbal taste. He handed it to you as the warmth from the tea cup soothed your soul. You gave it a sniff, hardly smelling anything before you took a sip from it. It was... interesting. The honey was definitely a good call as it made it bearable to swallow.

You tried not to make a face, but your face made it for you as you handed the tea cup back to Zelkov. "Thanks for the tea..."

"You are welcome."

He took it from your hand and set it aside. He placed his hand on your forehead. He could feel you were slightly warm with some sweat gathered at the base of your forehead. "You still have a slight fever. I will make you my special tea until you feel better."

The idea of drinking Zelkov's special tea wasn't ideal, but it was better than being stuck inside of your room bored with nothing to do. The faster you got better the faster you would be back out on the battlefield.

"Thanks Zelkov... I'm sorry the Divine Dragon is making you help take care of me."

There was a pause as Zelkov raised his eyebrow. He was confused by what you meant by being forced to help. "I think you are mistaken. The Divine Dragon asked for my help because I originally offered to help a couple days ago. They seemed hesitant at first, but once I offered the mask solution, they seemed more at ease."

That was a surprise. Zelkov wasn't being forced to help? He actually wanted to help make you feel better? You were a little caught off guard as you hadn't expected him to go out of his way and help you feel better.

"You did? But... Why? I'm not Princess Ivy. And we've hardly talked before."

"Such things like that do not matter to me as it does to other people. I understand the feeling of being restless with nothing to do. Being locked in your room with nothing to do can drive anyone mad. That is why I offered to help make you feel better sooner."

Was it that obvious you were that bored out of your mind stuck inside of your room? Maybe Zelkov was emphatic to your situation that he couldn't stand by and watch it happen any more? Whatever the case, you were just grateful that someone else understood your plight, even if it did seem like a minor one.

"I don't know what to say... but I am touched."

"Think nothing of it. If you are still bored, we could play a board game. I have no other duties other than making sure you return to full health."

"Of course. Any type of distraction is welcomed."

Zelkov stayed true to his word and helped cure your boredom along with nursing you back to health. After about a week of taking his special tea your sinus infection went away. Despite you being healthy, Zelkov still offered you to hang out with him, whether it was to yap about his latest hobby or creation, you were always eager to spend time with Zelkov.
