Timeline Shifts
"OK this looks bad," Sothis explains as her and Byleth look over Byleth's notes on the timeline which are now all but useless with the change caused by Richard. "On the bright side this may be our chancs. I mean, if we never fuse Edelgard never gets unmasked and then we're good to go as long as we can convince her not to proceed. The question is how? I mean we have prior knowledge, but we can't say, 'oh I'm in a time loop just trust me'. Wouldn't work."
"Goddess knows I've tried," Byleth sighs.
"Yeah because I was there," Sothis responds.
Sothis sighs, "With this and whatever the that thing is this is probably our last loop. One way or another..."
Claude takes a deep breath as the Golden Deer gather around him.
"You sure about this?" Richard asks.
"It's time to take a stand against the Travels," Claude replies, "But I want to remind you, we are not doing what you did to the others. That was our deal."
"Yeah yeah," Richard sighs, "Whatever."
"So what is it you've called us here for?" Lorenz inquires, "It's hardly sunrise."
"I need my beauty sleep so this better be important," Hilda adds.
Claude turns to Richard, who nods reassuringly, and speaks, "As many of you are aware, there is a group of masked individuals known as the Purifiers who have been targeting child abusers."
"Yeah they sound good hearted but their methods are..." Raphael replies, "... They cut their targets up like they're skinning wild game."
"Maybe they deserve it," Richard mutters under his breath.
"As you are all aware they have killed nobels in our Alliance," Claude adds, "Nobels who had connection to the opium trade."
"What are you getting at?" Ignatz inquires.
Claude reveals his mask, "I'm saying it's time we purify the source of the corruption in the Alliance. The Travels are a family of wealthy nobels who are in charge of the trade, and we intend to purify them. Any who will not join us, you may leave now without consequence. I will not resent you. I will not allow your views to damage our friendships, but for those who stay, the time is now to remove these stains from Fodlan. Who will join us?"
There is a moment of silence before Hilda speaks up, "I'm in. If I'm already awake I'm gonna have to work anyways."
"A nobel would not allow a fair lady to join alone," Lorenz adds, "I too will purify."
"I don't want my little sis growing up in an Alliance full of druggies," Raphael adds, "Count me in."
"I too will follow," Ignatz explains, "Now is the time for action."
Lysithea sighs, "It's about time people saw me as an adult. I'm in."
"And you Leonie?" Richard asks.
"Marianne you coming?" Claude inquires.
Leonie clenches her fist in rage, Marianne hiding behind her, not confident enough to speak up, but against the idea. Leonie however, is very verbal about her opposition.
"Jeralt dies," she growls, "Byleth is torn up about it and wants to go after the man who killed his dad, and you guys take that opportunity from him for your own selfish desires?"
"Selfish?" Richard demands, "I tried to save Jeralt!"
"Still Byleth will not be able to avenge him," Leonie glares, "Because you all wanna follow that psycho. You guys do whatever you want, but I will have no part. You all disgust me."
Leonie turns to walk away only to feel a tight, aggressive grip on her shoulder.
"You listen to me you little bitch," Richard growls with death in his eyes, "You wanna call me selfish? OK. Fine. Two way street. Let's talk about it. Let's talk about how you always had to compete with Byelth for Jeralt's affection, or how rather than comforting Byleth or thinking about what he wants, you claim it's his desire to avenge Jeralt when really you just have your head up your ass! Only thinking of yourself!"
Richard lets go, death in his eyes, "Get out of my sight. Both of you."
Enraged, Leonie leaves, Marianne following behind her. Richard collects himself and informs the others, "OK guys here's the plan..."
Meanwhile Marianne and Leonie barge into Byleth's room. Leonie is enraged at being called out and demands, "Byleth do you intend to kill the Purifers?"
"That's my mission," he replies.
"Good," Leonie smirks, "Because I know where they're gonna be in a week..."
