While the group was sleeping in their own tents and Kirumi standing guard. Kokichi tend to Shuichi's injuries after many convincing he have to do to Kaito, Kaede and Kirumi. He starts taking his robes off while applying some vulnerably to his wounds where he notices a strange mark on his left shoulder.
"Wait... is that...?" Kokichi gasped and rubs his eyes to do a double check, where the mark is still there, "No way..."
"Mm... Ugh... what happen...?" Shuichi muttered.
"Oh! Hello there, Sushi!" Kokichi greeted him up close, which freaks him out.
"Gah! What the hell, Kokichi!?" Shuichi yelled at him, "Wait! Why are you up? Shouldn't you be at bed since... that battle...?"

"Hehe, don't worry about me," Kokichi chuckled, "Chiaki and Angie managed to heal me up, so I'm all good. I have to convince Kirumi, Kaito and Kaede to let me take care of you, since I love you and all!"
"W-Wait, Huh?!" Shuichi shouted in shock while blushing intensely, "Y-You're lying!"
"Yeah! You got me! I was lying about that confession!" Kokichi lied to him, "But I was being honest about everything else though,"
"... Yeah... I'll believe it when I see it," Shuichi told him.
"You wound my heart, Saihara-chan!" Kokichi gasped, "By the way, I want to ask you something?"

Shuichi sighs and rolls his eyes as he asks, "Its a serious question... right?"
"Yes," Kokichi answered with a straight face.
"... Then ask away,"
"How long do you have that mark?" Kokichi asked as he points at his strange mark on his left shoulder.
"This? Well... I had it since birth," Shuichi answered, "You could say it's just a simple birth mark. I always get teased for it that I had to hide it away with long sleeves,"
"That's so interesting!" Kokichi said.
"... Right..." Shuichi replied; completely unsure if he really means it or not, "Kokichi... what... happened back there...?"

Kokichi tilts his head a bit with a innocent and confused look to his eyes as he puts his finger on his chin. He asks, "What do you mean?"
"That battle... you rushed into battle with such ferocity that I wasn't sure if it's you or not," Shuichi said, "Just... what happened in that invasion...?"
"... You're aware how my family and people was burnt alive by the fire, right?" Kokichi asked with a surprisingly serious tone.
"Yeah..." Shuichi replied.
"... I think my brother was murdered by that demon general..." Kokichi told him with a strong tone of hatred in his voice, "... My brother is a strong man... who would never give up our family weapon and shield till his last breath... and that bastard took that weapon from him!"

"... Because he has that halberd and shield, you think he killed your brother?" Shuichi asked.
"Yep... that halberd and shield is not normal..." Kokichi explained, "Those tools belonged to the reincarnation of Baeus, Makoto. That halberd is called the Hope's Fate and that shield is called the Hopekeeper."
"Ah! I heard of those legendary weapons!" Shuichi said, "I... I never thought I would actually get to see them. The shield said to be indestructible and the halberd that ended Queen Junko the first, Vanera's reincarnation,"
"Yep... those are the legendary weapons..." Kokichi confirmed it, "That halberd and shield is passed through kings to kings in my bloodline. My brother was the current wielder of those weapons... and now... that thief killed him..."
"I see..." Shuichi muttered as he bites his lips and looks at Kokichi, "... So... be honest with me, Kokichi... what are... your parents' like?"

Kokichi stays quiet; not saying a single word. He looks away, trying to avoid eye contact until he gets up and says, "Oh look at the time! I better get going! Bye!"
"Wha-wait! Kokichi!" Shuichi called out.

Sadly, Kokichi already rushes out of the tent, leaving Shuichi in his lonesome.
"Kokichi... what happened between you and your parents...?" Shuichi thought as he lays down, "I should really get some sleep now."

Shuichi closes his eyes and sleeps away through the night, while Kokichi looks around the woods and sees Kirumi, still standing guard for the others.
"Kirumi!" Kokichi called out.
"What is it, milord?" Kirumi asked in a serious tone; knowing full well he has something important to say.
"... There's something I need to tell you..." Kokichi told her.
