Siegbert, the young prince of Nohr, walks through the royal hallway with a conflicted look to his face, until he heard a few noises and a strong, but the delicious smell.

Siegbert - (What is that?)

He opens the door of the kitchen, where he sees his mother, who happened to be Mozu, cooking something.

Siegbert - (She looks like she's completely focused on her cooking. I should knock the door or else I might scare her.)

Siegbert knocks the door, which caught Mozu by surprise a bit, but she shrugs it off and looks behind her, which she sees her son.

Mozu - Oh! Hello Siegbert!
Siegbert - Hello Mother. What are you cooking?
Mozu - Foods for the people visiting me. Of course, that includes you, my lovely son.
Siegbert - Ha Ha, thanks, mother. Is there anything I can help you with?
Mozu - In a matter of fact, yes! Can you get me the meats, please?
Siegbert - Of course.

Siegbert opens the fridge and takes out the meats for his mother, who gladly takes it from and puts it in for her ingredients.

Siegbert - Ahem... mother, can I ask you something?
Mozu - Of course, you can.
Siegbert - What... well... my father mentioned you were from a simple village, so... what's it like there? Who were my grandparents?
Mozu - ...

Mozu looks away as she starts staring at the ground as she feels a bit shaken. Remembering her mother's death. The destruction of her home. The fear of getting killed by those monsters... those are the things that kept her up at night.

Siegbert notices his mother's expression and starts to feel very guilty for making his mother that uncomfortable.

Siegbert - O-On second thought, forget my questions. Let's just focus on cooking.
Mozu - O-Oh! Y-Yeah... of course.

The two continue cooking the meals, though, now filled with awkward silence.

Siegbert sees his mother trying to practice her dancing, but quite wobbly and unbalanced too. He chuckles a bit until he notices a shadowy figure hiding behind a pillar.

??? - ...
Siegbert - (Oh no!) Mother!
Mozu - H-Huh?!

Mozu trips and accidentally twists her ankle as she falls to the ground while the figure, who happened to be a Master-Ninja, quickly gets out of his hiding spot and charges at Mozu.

Siegbert - MOTHER!

Siegbert quickly takes out of his sword and rushes to be in front of her as he blocks the ninja's sword.

Siegbert - Take this!
Ninja - Gah!

Siegbert slashes the ninja in the leg with his sword and looks back at his mother while the ninja lays down on the ground. Bleeding.

Siegbert - Mother!
??? - What's going on here?!

The crown prince of Nohr opens the large door of the dance hall and sees his son, his wife and the ninja, where he instantly realised what's going on.

Siegbert - Father!
Mozu - X-Xander!
Xander - Siegbert! Take her to the healers. I'll handle the assassin.
Siegbert - I-I understand.

Sigebert picks up his mother and runs off while Xander readies his Siegfred and points it at the ninja.

Xander - Now... I hope you don't mind interrogation...
Ninja - ... (Gulps)...

(Meanwhile)

Mozu is placed in the bed and her ankle is bandaged while her son sits next to her.

Mozu - ...
Siegbert - Mother... I...
Mozu - D-Don't worry, Siegbert. I been though much worse then a ankle-breaking.
Siegbert - Worse...?
Mozu - ... I... since you're an adult. You have the right to know... (Sighs) you are fully aware that, before I married your father, I was a simple country girl, right?
Siegbert - Of course, mother.

Mozu - Good, well... long before I even met him, my... my village and your extended family, including your grandmother, was killed from a bunch of Faceless.
Siegbert - What?! I... I never knew that...
Mozu - I... I wasn't sure how to bring up the topic, but... like I said, you are an adult, so you deserve to know about your family history.
Siegbert - Then... What was my other relatives like?

Mozu - They are the sweetest pumpkins out there. I was raised in a rather large family, where I had ton of siblings, cousins, uncles and aunts as well as your grandparents. But... but... your grandfather and uncles died trying to protect us... your grandmother and I was the only survivors... until a Faceless got her as well.
Siegbert - I... Wow...
Mozu - It was very difficult for me to cope at first, though I was luckily saved by your uncle/aunt, Corrin, but even then... I... even today, I wished they were here to see you and Xander.
Siegbert - Mother... I... I would have loved to meet them too.
Mozu - Yeah... I wish I can see my village, but... sadly, it's now just a base for Faceless.
Siegbert - ... Mother, where is that village?

Mozu - You're not planning on going after them, are you?!
Siegbert - N-No! Of course not. I'm just wanting to know.
Mozu - ... I... My village is in the Southwestern of Hoshido.
Siegbert - Wait... you're...
Mozu - Yep... I'm Hoshidan, which sadly receives a lot of hate from the Nohrians, especially the nobles.
Siegbert - Was... was that assassin hired for that reason?!
Mozu - Most likely... I... I wasn't sure how to feel when I become crown princess consort, though, with Xander and his siblings' help, I was able to feel safer thanks to guards, which honestly feels weird because I was just a commoner.
Siegbert - Hehe, I bet you often caught a lot of people off guard.

Mozu - Oh trust me, Sieggy, a lot of people were always shock and freak out when they realise I'm Xander's wife. Honestly, it was super funny, so I normally pretend to be your typical country pumpkin until I decide to tell them I'm royalty by marriage.
Siegbert - I wonder how father feels about that.
Mozu - Well... I never told him. Then again, knowing him, he would be very disapproval of the prank.
Siegbert - Agreed. Can you tell me stories about it?
Mozu - Of course! Okay... one time...

(Later)

Siegbert is covering his mother's eyes

Mozu - A-Are we there yet?
Siegbert - Yep! (Let's go of her eyes)
Mozu - I... I can't believe this...

Mozu is staring at a well-repaired village where the greens are well done and the walls are somewhat solid. Mozu, while having her mouth open, looks around the village in awe and starts to tear up.

Mozu - I... I can't believe this... for... for me...?
Siegbert - Yes Mother. Wha-you're crying? Are you okay?
Mozu - Y-Yes, son... I... I'm just so happy... I... I can't believe you did this for me... but... why?
Siegbert - Simple. I want to make you happy, just like father does. After all, he assisted me in rebuilding the village.
Mozu - Hehe, I knew there's something off with Xander, but I never thought this is why.
Siegbert - Yeah. Once the war is over and I inherit the throne one day, maybe you, father and the others can retire here.
Mozu - That... that would be very lovely   It will be like old times... I would love that very much.
Siegbert - I'm so glad. So... let's do our best to win this war.
Mozu - Yep! Let's do this!

A/N - Would it bad to admit I only did this because it's my OTP for Xander. Honestly, it's... cute... so cute that it's disgusting!

Sorry it's been so long since I update this! I was pretty busy with my other stories and trying to enjoy my holiday. I hope this more then makes up for it.
