Heat of Suns

Her white silk dress glowed from the surrounding embers.

Although she had been asleep for many, many centuries, she didn't look older than fourteen. She had child-like features but also teenage features and freckles.

The area around her was full of fire, no water would be able to be in this area.

Soft ash-grey hair surrounded her head on the ground, forming around her head. It was long, going down to her waist when down.

She began to stir, a dark presence was sensed nearby.

When her brown-amber eyes opened, she was confused.

Why am I awake?

Sitting up, she noticed how little fire there was protecting her slumber.

Only three things could weaken such a barrier.

Swiftly, the girl stood up and walked out of her fire home.

She felt something drop from above, and boy did it sting.

Water was dripping on both her and the ring of fire.

Realisation dawned on her face as fear flooded her face.

Quickly, she ran over to the small shrine that was placed in this firery dimension.

"I must warn him." She whispered, her voice soft and delicate. "If I'm awake, they're coming for him as well."

In the distance, a splashing could be heard.

"Oh no, they're already here!" The girl rushed to a shrine, quickly placing the black orb on the altar.

It didn't take long for a blue and black portal to open.

Without hesitation, she ran through.

He was laying around, seemingly lifeless. Dark thunderclouds were usually surrounding the boy.

But not now.

Slowly, and a bit painfully, he opened his pale blue eyes. They were sore due to his long slumber.

"What on earth?" He mumbled, sitting up, watching the dark clouds and fog roll closer.

He adjusted his black vest, fur decorated the inside and the neck part of the outside. His hair had a fringe, the tips of his short hair were blue while the rest was a deep black. Carefully, he drifted it to the right. His facial expression was serious yet confused. He didn't look a day older than nineteen.

It was cold, colder than it usually would be. It was so cold, light snow dropped from the thunderclouds.

A bright flash of fire appeared, melting some of the snow away.

A figure of grey had fallen to the floor, but wasn't unfamiliar to the boy.

"Was it you?" He asked, no light or joking tone could be heard.

"Like what you've done with the dimension. But no, it wasn't me." The younger girl smiled dismissively. "There is rain in my dimension and I came to warn you."

"It's raining there? But I thought it was too hot for that." The thunder boy raised his brow.

"That's what I thought." The grey-haired girl frowned. "Apparently we're both wrong."

"So what's happening?" The black-haired male squinted, noting each move his "friend" was making.

"I thought it was obvious." The girl raised her brow.

"Then why, or more importantly how, did any sort of life form cross our barrier?" The man walked back and forth, pacing a short distance.

"The same was they always do, just with more skill this time." The girl rolled her eyes before a look of fright dawned on her.

With no time at all, the girl ran into the pacing boy, she was up in his face with a serious one planted on her own face.

"We need to get to the human portals now." The girl spoke as she looked around, making sure that there wasn't anyone or anything watching them.

"What gave that one away?" The blue eyed boy mocked.

"Do you have your sealer?" She asked, taking out a fire pendant of her own.

The pendant was more like a bracelet charm, the classic flame symbol was formed. It burned most to the touch, the colours would light up vibrantly.

The boy nodded as he reached into his vest pocket, pulling out a necklace charm in the shape of a bolt. The bolt was a shade of blue, going lighter towards the end. There was something in it that was causing it to glow.

"Who could we trust in this day and age?" The boy mumbled.

"No one, which is why we are choosing this as carefully as we possibly could." The grey-haired girl stared intensely at the boy.

"We may not have time." The boy pointed to a few dozen figures in black appearing from the fog.

The girl stuttered, words tripping over one another in effort not to say anything rude.

"There!" The men yelled and charged towards the two.

"Where is the nearest human dimension portal?!" The girl asked with urgency.

"There should be one nearby." The boy turned around, grabbing the girl's wrist and running.

Having no shoes on made it hard for the girl, her long hair constantly blinding her did not help her.

"There!" He yelled, stopping.

The girl took this time to pull her hair out of her face. Her amber eyes looked at the blue and black portal with hope.

"Shall we?" She smiled.

"Ladies first." The boy mumbled.

Smiling, the girl took the chance to push him in and followed quickly behind.

As the two traveled down the portal, both held up their charm and looked to each other. Nodding quickly once, the two were absorbed by the two charms and went seperate ways.
