Avatar Vanishes and Secret Waterbender

Aang pov:

I was teaching the other kids my invention of sitting on a ball of air like a top when the monks walked over. Gyatso spoke calmly, "Aang, come with us. We need to speak with you." Monk Tashi airbended a wrapped up mat over to me and I recognized the four favorite toys from when I was little.

I smiled, "I just choose them because they seemed fun." Tashi argued that I picked them because they were familiar and that I was the avatar... Later that day I went back to go play with the other kids again but after finding out that I was the avatar they didn't want me to join their game.

Instead I went to go play Pai Sho with Gyatso. Gyatso smiled after I moved a tile piece, "Very interesting move, young one."

"What do you mean?" I asked and my orange top fell over my head. I flipped it off my head seeing the two pieces moved and I smiled, "Hey!" We both started laughing.

Monk Tashi spoke in the doorway, "Your playing games with him? The avatar should be training!" Gyatso and Tashi got into an argument, Tashi walked away, and we got to continue playing.

That night I could sleep I got out of bed and wandered around the temple until I over heard Monk Pasang speaking to Monk Tashi and Gyatso, "You and Aang must be separated! The avatar will be sent away to the Eastern Air Temple to complete his training."

I went back to my room feeling anger by my friend I stared out the window of my room my anger turned into fear and confusion and I decided to leave on my own. I flew on Appa heading nowhere in particular, I noticed that the sky began to darken and lightning flashed, I lost control of the reins on Appa, a massive wave came pulling us both down, and my vision went dark.

Kya pov:

I was visiting my Gran-Gran who was teaching me how to master waterbending but this time she insisted I learn bloodbending... I was hesitant which made Gran-Gran mad but I learned it anyway vowing never to use that particular method.

I left Gran-Gran's Inn before the sun rise and went home; father was still gone at the Boiling Rock making sure the guards were doing their jobs or to see the new prisoners... I didn't want to be in an empty house so I decided to visit my cousin Mai and continue pretending to be a nonbender...

I stood outside Mai's house when Mai came running towards me, "We're going to Azula and Zuko's house!" She grabbed my arm practically dragging me to the castle that was across the street... Mai and I sat under a tree in the courtyard behind the castle, Mai's friend, Ty Lee a nonbender, did cartwheels with Azula, and then Azula walked over...

Azula spoke, "Mai, join us." Mai didn't move and Azula glared at me, "Why did Mai bring you?!"

"I don't know maybe you should ask her, your highness." I replied before noticing that Mai was staring and blushing at Zuko... Azula noticed Mai staring at him too, she ran off, and I nudged my cousin to get her attention.

Mai asked as she turned to face me, "What?"

"If your just going to gush over Prince Zuko all day, I would've preferred a little warning so I could stay home..." I stated. Mai shrugged and went back to watching Azula and Zuko...

I got up and decided to go home... Ty Lee walked over and started whispering in my ear. I looked at Mai first then looked at Azula... I was conflicted as I didn't want my cousin being part of a mean joke but I also didn't want to defend Mai.

I watched as Azula placed an apple on Mai's head, then shot out a blast of fire at her, and Zuko pushed Mai into the foutain. Ty Lee spoke to both Azula and me, "Aww they're so cute together." Zuko stormed off shouting that girls are crazy.

Mai looked at Azula and Ty Lee, "You two are such... ugh!" Mai climbed out of the fountain fuming with anger. Mai walked over to me, "Well?"

"Why are you mad at me?" I asked back.

Mai frowned, "You could have done something."

"Last I checked we're both nonbenders Mai, please tell me what I could have done." I replied... Mai was silent, I walked away, and on my way out of the castle I collided with Zuko.

Zuko started, "Hey watch... You okay?"

"Fine, are you okay?" I asked.

Zuko replied, "Fine... Don't worry about Azula."

"Actually you pushed Mai into the fountin not Azula..." I trailed off. Zuko frowned and I added, "I'm Kya and I don't attend school with Azula and Mai."

Zuko asked, "Kya, isn't that a Water Tribe name?"

"Yes, my mom picked it for some unknown reason..." I trailed off again.
