Chapter 14 Dream

A thick fog seemed to sweep the entire perimeter of the stone room, giving an even eerie feel to the darkness that surrounded everything, aside from the large cauldron that rested in the center of the room. A greenish blue mist seeped over the sides and cascaded down to the floor below, disappearing underneath the fog.

The tall, thin woman stirred the liquid slowly, a smirk gracing her pointed face as she seemed to laugh at nothing at all. The sound of the heavy door swinging open behind her caused her to drop the spoon and spin around, the bottom of her white dress wiping around as she did so. "Well, have you gotten it?" She demanded in a harsh tone.

"I have." The young girl nodded, opening her shoulder bag flap after having brushed her white hair off of her shoulder. She timidly pulled a piece of tattered, blood stained cloth out and held it up a bit, showing the cold woman in front of her.

The woman held out her hand while impatiently snapping at the girl, "Give it to me then!" She snatched the fabric from the girls nearly trembling hand and hurried over to the only window in the large, almost empty room, holding the cloth up in between the bars that lined the glass, allowing the moonlight to illuminate it enough from her to get a good enough look. "This was stolen from King Edmund, yes?"

"No." She replied, hanging her head as the woman spun around, the ice crystals that littered her elaborate white gown shimmering in the white light that shone in from the window.

"No?"

"I-He- I couldn't actually get close enough to get some of his blood, so I snuck into the nurses station and got a piece from there."

"Foolish girl!" The woman cried, throwing the cloth to the floor and smacking the girl harshly across her face. "Have you brought me any good news?"

The girl nodded meekly, lifting herself off the ground, cupping her stinging cheek. "Before I left I was able to plant the poison you gave me into Queen Susans' drink."

The woman visibly composed herself all of a sudden, smoothing her long hands down over the front of her dress, offering one of them to the girl and pulling her closer. She smiled almost adoringly at her while brushing some hair behind her ears. "Well done, ally."

"Has the girl succeeded?" Another icy voice called from the door way. Across the room stood a tall, pale woman dressed in a fitted black dress that turned purple towards the bottom where it somewhat fanned out. The head piece she wore resembled black devils horns, and her hand was clasped around a staff with an oddly colored glass orb on the top, a raven sitting upon it.

"In poisoning the dear queen, yes. In retrieving the blood of Adam, no."

"Why is she still here then?" The woman with the staff cast her cat like eyes upon the frightened girl, rolling them as the other woman wrapped an arm around her.

"Because aside from her failures, she is still my niece."

"Maggie. Wake up." Peters soothing voice filled my ears, causing me to bold upright, taking in a loud gasp. "Are you okay?"

I nodded after having ran my fingers through my red curls, leaning my head against his shoulder as his arms encased me, pulling my into his chest. "It was just a dream, at least I think it was."

"What do you mean?" He asked, pulling back and trailing a few fingers down my face before leaning forward and kissing the corner of my mouth gently.

"What are you two doing? Its three in the morning." Susans' groggy voice called out from the bed across the room. "Peter you're not suppose to be in here anyway."

"I had a really odd dream." I took a deep breath as she got up and made her way over to my bed, taking a seat beside her brother. "There were two women and a young girl in what appeared to be a castle. The girl brought back a cloth with some blood on it that was suppose to be Edmund's, but she said because she couldn't get his she stole the cloth from the nurses station. The woman was stirring some type of potion, I guess, and I think she might have been planning on using the blood in it."

"What about the other woman?" Peter asked, toying with my fingers.

"She didn't come in until the very end. She had a staff and a raven. She asked the woman why they hadn't gotten rid of the girl yet and the woman said it was because the girl was her niece. Oh!" I gasped suddenly. "The girl also mentioned that she was the one who poisoned you with something the first woman gave her."

"We need to speak with Aslan." Susan sighed. "But we cant."

"Ugh." Peter pointed suddenly towards the doorway in front of us. "Guys, that might not be entirely true." Suddenly, a bright, almost blinding light appeared almost instantly in the once normal looking closet, illuminating the entire room until nothing could be seen but white light.
