"We need to fall back." Elvira fearfully states with wide eyes. This only causes Erik to narrow his eyes at her. Since the moment Erik has seen Elvira walk through the doors, he could tell there was something always bothering her in the back of her mind. He could see the inner turmoil in her eyes whenever she gazes upon her people. He notices how tense she becomes whenever she watches the battle commence and her people are injured or killed.
"What has happened to you?" Elvira, Stefan, and Jasper all turn towards him at his words. His gaze is piercing through Elvira's soul. "You've never been this vulnerable or weak." He snarls, stalking closer to her figure and he quickly notes how her hands are slightly shaking. "You've led us into battles and wars before, you were our greatest military commander. Now, you stand here and watch as your soldiers fight while you shake and watch. Instead of helping them, you wish to call for a retreat. What happened to the powerful queen that killed any foe that stood in the path of her people's success? What happened to the woman that we all grew to admire and respect because of her strength? Where has that all gone?" Elvira takes a small step back as her eyes widen at how harsh his tone is towards her. "Since when was that powerful woman replaced by a coward?" She glares daggers at him with gritted teeth.
"I am no coward! You have no idea about what's been happening and going on in the real world since you've been stuck in this facility for thousand of years!" She snarls, placing her hands on his chest and shoving him away. "Do you know what it's like to live with the thought of you being the last of your species? Do you know what it's like knowing that you're the reason why your kingdom was attacked and destroyed? That you're the reason why your brother is dead?" She angrily reels her fist back and punches him in the jaw. "I will not risk the lives of our people anymore!"
"So that's why you feel guilty about everything that has happened. None of us know the true story behind what happened to our kingdom or species. All we know is that while we were being experimented on, our home was destroyed. We knew that even if we escaped, we had no place to go to. We had no friends or family left that would've greeted us with hugs or smiles. Do you understand how much hope you've given to our people from the moment you walked through those doors? Do you understand how much these people look up to you? They remember the stories of how Princess Elvira and Prince Finlay took down the warlocks that had once threatened our survival. They remember how Queen Elvira and King Finlay took over the royal positions with a sense of humbleness. They never lost hope that the royal line was completely dead like we were told." He humorlessly laughs. "A little bit of that was because none of us could allow us to accept that because with no Targaryen left to rule us, there was practically no hope for our species to prosper. Yet some of that was because we all knew how powerful and strong that royal bloodline was and we knew that it was impossible that all the royals were killed. We knew that at least one of you had to be alive." His voice cracks. "Now, are you going to live up to the legends of your family or are you going to stay here and wallow in self-pity?" He smiles when he sees the new fire burning in Elvira's eyes as they turn into a dark shade of purple instead of the usual periwinkle. She gazes back at her people and sees the will to fight slowly dying as they back away from the armors trolls and the new overwhelming numbers of soldiers. She whistles and Vera immediately swoops down towards her. Elvira jumps up, grabbing onto one of Vera's feet, and climbs her way onto the dragon's back.
"Do not give up!" She screams gaining her soldier's attention as they gaze upwards at their leader sitting tall on her dragon. Her other dragons float around her and this sight gives them a sense of content. "You have all fought bravely tonight for our people, you're tired and you're scared. I understand." She glances at the trio watching her with proud smiles. "An ideal race must be strong and vigorous in order to survive which you all have displayed tonight! Every single supernatural creature tonight has joined us to end the reign of the Dawnguard! We have joined forces in our dire time of need and together we will defend our species to the death! We have fought in Germany, we have fought in Sweden, we have fought on the green plains and in the mountain ranges, we have fought as our courage only continues to grow stronger and we now fight in this facility where you all have been experimented on and tortured! We shall fight to the death! We shall fight until the very end of this war! We are the creatures in children's stories to scare them to behave. We are the creatures in horror movies and fantasy books that people could only dream of being. We are the creatures people fear because we are too powerful for them to understand! We are fire! We are dead! And if this war is to end in fire," Elvira roars, "then we will burn together!" She turns towards Ulrich and smirks at seeing the shocked expression on his face, "and you will burn with us!"
"Long live Queen Elvira!" The Dragonborns chant as they run back into battle with newfound determination to win the war.
"Sullivan, will you let Erik be your rider?" She inquires to her laziest dragon. He huffs before swooping towards Erik and picking him up with his talons. "Rowan, Shea, and Duncan, I believe it is time that you find your own riders." She smiles sadly at her dragons. They gaze at her with sad, but understanding gleams in their eyes. She was never meant to ride all of them, Vera has always been her dragon. The three quickly dive into the chaos and pick out their own riders. Elvira smiles at the sight of the chosen Dragonborns cheering in pure happiness at riding the majestic creatures once more. "Well girl, it's just us now." She strokes the top of Vera's head and laughs when Vera emits a loud huff. "I know, I know. It's going to be weird without them." She gleefully observes how well the dragons are interacting with their new riders. "Let's give them hell." She mumbles and Vera roars, diving into the midst of the battle. "We need to cut the head off." She states while gazing at the retreating figure of Ulrich. Her dragons fly up towards her with their riders, each rider gazing at her in awe. "Are you ready to fight alongside me one last time, my friends?" She softly directs the question to the dragons who roar in response. A gentle smile comes to her face as she soaks in the feelings of content and happiness knowing that once this was all over, she would most likely not see them again.
