Elvira carefully sips the wine from her glass while strolling around the venue, happily greeting anyone she knew and introducing herself to those she doesn't know. She truly did love the wedding because they brought together people from all different backgrounds and species. She cautiously eyes Seth Clearwater, the only werewolf that actually bothered to show up, before her eyes landed on the figure of Billy Black. It was strange to see the old man without Jacob Black, but the young boy had run off after getting the wedding invitation. Bella had been utterly devastated about it which slightly bothered Elvira. Elvira is still not sure if Bella is devastated because her best friend is not coming or because her crush is not coming. She has not gotten past how easily Bella made out with Jacob despite the fact she was already engaged to Edward. If Elvira was a bird, Bella would be the human that ruffles her feathers for the fun of it. She taps her fingernails against the glass in her hands and emits a low sigh. She hates the looks of hatred, envy, curiosity, and lust she is getting from the people in the area. She takes one large final gulp of her win before slamming it down on one of the end tables. She angrily mumbles incoherent threats underneath her breath as she makes her way towards where Jasper is. Jasper raises an eyebrow at the sight of her infuriated figure, resting more heavily on the wall behind him. She leans against the wall beside him and crosses her arms, glaring daggers at the people walking by.
"Killing them mentally isn't going to make you any less angry," Jasper advises and glances down at her. "What's wrong?"
"They stare at me as if I am a piece of meat hanging on a hook, just waiting for someone to yank me off and eat me." She hisses.
"That's an interesting analogy." He muses in amusement. "You only have to deal with it for a couple more minutes before Alice makes us all sit down for the ceremony to start." She groans and rests her head on his bicep. He chuckles, gently patting her arm. "Do I need to sit you next to Emmett?" She snaps her head up as she backs away from him.
"Nope." She hurriedly says. Emmett is absolutely the worst person to sit next to for anything. He can never sit still for long causing him to always be fidgeting, but his fidgeting usually ends up with someone getting elbowed in the face. That someone has been Elvira one too many times. She walks by a group of teenagers and catches the end of their conversation.
"Jess, she is not pregnant." The one girl states in slight annoyance.
"Okay. Who else gets married at eighteen?" The other girl snorts and shakes her head. Elvira narrows her eyes at the girl, trying to place a name to her from the description Bella has given her about everyone that is attending. She blinks when the name Jessica Stanley clicks in her head. That making the other girl be Angela Weber, and the two boys are Eric Yorkie and Mike Newton. The only human friends Bella has made during her stay in Forks, Washington which highly confused Elvira considering most people act as if the Swan girl is an angel sent from the heavens. Elvira expected her to have more human friends, but she neglected to take Bella's awkward and unsocial self into account. She shuffled uneasily on her feet, unsure if she should snap at Jessica and defend Bella, or just leave quietly and pretend this never happened. She groans when she turns on her heel and walks towards the group of humans. As much as Elvira may dislike Bella, it is not right for her so-called friends to talk badly about her.
"Actually, a lot of people get married at the age of eighteen." She smiles sweetly and ignores the glare she gains from Jessica. "It's because they were actually able to find everlasting love which I truly hope is something you'll be able to find one day." She sarcastically pats Jessica on the arm before turning around and leaving.
"She's hot and she just totally owned you, I need to know who that girl is."
"Shut up, Mike!" Elvira allows a small smirk to grace her lips as she makes her way to her seat. She winks playfully at Jasper and Alice who take their seat next to her, listening to the pianist play as the minister calmly stands at the altar with Edward. Everyone stands and turns to face the aisle where Bella can be seen walking towards the altar with Charlie escorting her. She locks eyes with Bella as the human passes her and nods encouragingly. No matter how Elvira may feel about Bella, she cannot deny the happiness Bella has brought back into Edward's life. Everyone sits back down after Charlie gives her away.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here on this glorious day to witness the union of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. Please repeat after me." The minister says.
"I, Edward Cullen, take you, Bella Swan. To have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. To love, to cherish as long as we both shall live. I do." Edward repeats everything the minister tell him to say
"I do," Bella says and the duo exchanged a small smile.
"You may now kiss the bride!"
"I love you," Edward whispers, wrapping his arms around Bella's waist and pulling her in close.
"I love you too." Bella breathes out before kissing him. Elvira stands and begins to clap with a bright smile upon her face. During the reception, Elvira happily strolls over to the newlywed couple.
"Bella Cullen," she muses, "that's going to take some time getting used to." Bella emits a soft chuckle. "Are you ready to cut your cake?" She winks and escorts them over to the gigantic wedding cake where her human friends are already gathered. She hands Edward the knife, standing beside Alice. "Where is the Denali coven?" She whispers while clapping at the sight of cake being smudged onto Edward's face.
"Irina got angry that Seth and Billy are here," Alice replies in a low voice. "I think she walked into the woods away from the reception and her sisters followed her." Elvira sadly gazes at the outline of trees surrounding the house, briefly thinking about going after Irina herself before dismissing the thought. Edward is practically her baby brother and she needed to be here for everything. After the food was handed out along with the cake, everyone found their assigned tables to reside at for the duration of the meal. Elvira glances up for her raw steak to cough. Emmett is standing on the stage with a wicked gleam in his eyes.
"Excuse me. Is this on? Hello?" He tests out the microphone. "I'd like to propose a toast. To my new sister. Bella, I hope you've gotten enough sleep these last 18 years. 'Cause, you won't be getting any more for a while." He laughs at his own joke as everyone else in the audience looks at him awkwardly.
"Nice man you got there." Elvira teases Rosalie who looks ready to strangle him with her bare hands. It seems that Emmett has begun the long line of people wishing to make toasts.
"Well, Bella was just like everybody else, totally mesmerized by Edward or 'the hair' as I call him. And then, suddenly, Edward is all about Bella. Even though she's not the captain of the volleyball team." Jessica falsely laughs. "I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. Or the president of the student council." She shrugs as if she doesn't care, yet her entire toast was basically about her jealously.
"Edward will be a good husband. I know this because I'm a cop. I know things. Like how to hunt somebody to the ends of the Earth. And I know how to use a gun." Charlie threateningly points at Edward causing laughter to erupt throughout the crowd.
"Now that you're my sister, you'll have to get over your aversion to fashion such as skirts, heels, handbags." Alice states and Elvira sends Bella a pityingly look. Alice sits back down, gestures for Elvira to go up there. Elvira sighs before doing what Alice wants. She nervously eyes the faces in the crowd until her eyes land on Irina. Irina gives her an encouraging smile that calms Elvira down.
"In the short that I've been in Forks, I've never seen anyone love Edward the way Bella does. It's been years since I last saw the Cullens and to come back only to be introduced to Edward's girlfriend was surprising. At first, I didn't like Bella. I saw her as a girl who's going to break Edward's heart and leave him in the dust. As time passed, I've come to realize that Bella is Edward's soulmate. Soulmates aren't meant to come into your life peacefully. They enter your life and make you question everything you thought you knew before." She takes a deep breath in and locks eyes with Edward. "It feels like it's been centuries since I last saw Edward smile, but Bella makes it appear so easily. I'm trusting you to take care of him and if I ever get a crying phone call from him, you best know I'm coming after you." Elvira sits back down, resting her head on Jasper's shoulder.
"Go to sleep, my love. Go to sleep. When you wake you'll see me." Renee sings in a horrible voice yet no one has the heart to tell her to stop.
"I'd like to thank Renée and Charlie for bringing such a wonderful person into the world and into our lives. We will cherish and protect her forever." Esme softly smiles at Renee and Charlie who Bella forced to sit together.
"It's an extraordinary thing to meet someone to who you can bear your soul to. And who will accept you for what you are. I've been waiting, what seems like a very long time, to get beyond what I am. And with Bella, I feel like I can finally begin. So I'd like to propose a toast to my beautiful bride. No measure of time with you will be long enough. But let's start with forever." Everyone awes at Edward's words, some women even had tears in their eyes. Elvira immediately seeks refuge from the woods after the reception is over. She inhales and exhales, completely relaxing. She has never done well in a large crowd and the wedding has been pushing her out of her comfort zone. She pauses when she hears a twig snap from behind her and turns to see Jacob.
"Bella is going to be happy to see you." Elvira gestures for him to follow her as she leads him to an isolated spot only a couple of feet away from the crowd. "I'll go get her." She weaves through the people until she spots Edward and Bella. Edward glances in her direction, quickly reading her mind before grabbing Bella and heading towards her. "We have one last surprise for you and we're sure you're going to love it." Elvira takes them to where Jacob is. Edward and Elvira watch as Bella tightly hugs Jacob, the deep connection between them clearly being seen. Elvira gently takes Edward's hand and leads him away from the scene.
"It doesn't bother me." Edward suddenly speaks. "Not anymore at least. She has a ring on her finger and my last name now, she's mine."
"Just because she is yours doesn't mean he's not going to try anything." She states. Suddenly, Edward's head snaps in the direction where they left Bella. He disappears and Elvira quickly makes her way over to see Jacob being escorted away by the pack. She furrows her eyebrows, wondering what happened. She carefully wonders towards Edward to place a gentle hand on his arm. "Are you okay?" He utters a sigh and glances down at her.
"For now." He mumbles before dragging Bella away. Elvira shakes her head and goes to follow them when a whimper stops her in her tracks. The whimper shakes her to the core as she recognizes it as Vera's. She spins on her heels, bolting towards the cave she had foolishly left her dragons in. She catches sight of a group of people throwing nets over them and gasps. She crouches behind a tree trunk while covering her mouth to stifle the terrified sobs from coming out. Those people should not exist because Finlay and she had hunted them down to the point of extinction. Dragon hunters, also known as the Dawnguard, entire existence were based around slaughtering dragonborns and their dragons. She presses herself harder against the tree trunk when she hears Sullivan throwing a fit. She could not take the group on by herself considering dragon hunters are naturally better fighters than her kind. She goes to get help when she pauses, remembering that the wedding is still going on meaning no one could come to help her. She closes her eyes and sighs, slowly standing up. She had to do this alone. She springs out from behind the tree and tackles one to the ground. She emits a piercing war cry, digging her nails deep within his neck. An evil smirk crosses her face as she feels him go limp beneath her. She stands up and turns to face the others with blood dripping off her nails.
"I highly suggest you take those nets off my dragons and leave." She growls, stepping forward. Her dragons weakly lift their heads and emit low whimpers from whatever the hunters have injected them with to weaken them. Each hunter has a syringe full of clear liquid leading Elvira to assume that it was vervain. Vervain is a plant that weakens dragonborns and vampires and in some dire cases can lead to their deaths. Elvira crouches, but right before she could launch herself at them, a sharp pain spreads throughout her body. She gasps and glances down to see a syringe being taken out of her bicep. She had left herself vulnerable for an attack while she was distracted by her anger towards the ones in front of her. She collapses onto the ground, breathing shallowly as the vervain begins to take its course throughout her veins. She lays on her side as she tries to regulate her breathing and heartbeat. She tries to fight off the darkness lulling her to sleep while her eyes flicker. The last couple of things she remembers are a pair of boots beside her face and a figure crouching down with a hand gently caressing her face before she finally let the darkness wrap her in its embrace.
