Elvira was never one to wear extravagant clothing despite being a queen for centuries. She has always chosen to wear simpler clothing to better blend in within the crowd of peasants and nobles. Back then, people saw clothing as a symbol of power and wealth. Whenever a royal would not wear the most expensive clothing and dressed down a social class, the people saw that royal as a person instead of only being a monarch. Elvira connected with her people daily and absolutely adored attending festivals held in the streets while her brother never came down to join her. Finlay was always working, dealing with diplomatic and external affairs as he let her run wild and free throughout the kingdom. Finlay had been born six winters before her birth, but they were extremely close. There was one piece of information Elvira had purposefully left out in her species' mating ways. Every Dragonborn had two soulmates, a romantic one and a platonic one. Finlay had been one of the rare cases where he had found his platonic soulmate before his romantic one. His platonic soulmate happened to be Elvira's mate which had once made her happy because he had approved of their relationship before they even got together. Platonic soulmates worked a little differently than romantic soulmates. Dragonborns cannot smell them or see their futures together or age with them, but they are overwhelmed with a sense of security and protection when they lock eyes with their platonic soulmates. It was as if they were being welcomed home.

"You have that deeply concentrated expression whenever you're thinking about Finlay." Elvira blinks and directs her eyes to where Jasper stands, gazing at her with slight worry in his eyes. Elvira remembers how happy she was when she had met Jasper and discovered he was her platonic soulmate. She quirks a smile at the memory of Jasper's face when he got confused about the vibes of home he felt from her. She shrugs her shoulders and observes the newly decorated backyard where the wedding will take place in less than five hours. "Elvira," Jasper states in a tone that basically told her to spill.

"I miss him." She whispers, clenching the shirt material over her heart. She screws her eyes shut while mentally beating herself into a bloody pulp. She could have saved her brother and her species if only she had gotten there faster. If only she never showed Carlisle her kingdom. If only she had not been blinded by loneliness and welcomed the newborn into her life to fill the void her mate had left in her heart. "Finlay adored weddings, that was the only time he would leave the castle and come join in the celebrations." Jasper sits beside her on the steps and wraps a tight arm around her. She buries her head in his chest, welcoming the familiar feeling of home in his arms.

"When will you stop blaming yourself?" He mumbles with a soft sigh. She gently chuckles and shakes her head.

"Never." She replies.

"Bella is staring at us while feeling intense confusion." He comments causing her to glance over at the human. She was happy about the change in subject.

"When will she stop thinking that we have feelings for each other?" She grumbles. "Edward even confronted me about it because she wouldn't stop asking him questions about our friendship."

"Just because she can't be just friends with the opposite gender doesn't mean we can't." She snorts and playfully hits his arm in disbelief at his words.

"She is going to be your sister-in-law." She hisses while biting back a smile. He sheepishly shrugs, quirking a smirk.

"Does that mean I have to like her?" He inquires.

"Elvira," the duo turn to see Alice staring at them with an amused expression, "it's time for you to get ready." Elvira sighs, imagining the torture she will be going through for the next couple of hours. She sends him a look pleading for help which he shakes his head no to.

"Major Whitlock, won't you help a damsel in distress?" She teases with a Southern accent donning her voice.

"Lass, you're no damsel and you're certainly not in distress." He picks her up and uses his speed to practically escort her to Alice. He waves goodbye and disappears to help outside. Elvira slowly faces Alice and Rosalie who wear identical evil grins. While the ladies went dress shopping yesterday, Elvira got to skip out on the fun because she had to find a hiding place for her dragons for the duration of the wedding. Vera had been the only one to strongly protest against being separated from Elvira for so long, but she had eventually calmed down and followed her siblings into the cave Elvira had found. However, that means Alice had bought the dress she saw Elvira wear in her vision and that slightly worries the Dragonborn. Rosalie grabs Elvira's hands and drags her to the bathroom where a bathtub full of warm water and roses greets her.

"You do know I'm not the bride." Elvira gestures to the roses in confusion.

"This is the first time we get to play dress-up with you." Alice squeals, clapping her hands. Elvira could sense the undertone of mischief in Alice's voice and knows something else is up.

"The roses are scented." Rosalie slyly nudges Elvira. "There's going to be a couple of single people here today." Elvira sighs, her suspicions being confirmed. The Cullen women are trying to set the Targaryen with another man who is not her mate. "Your soulmate is an asshole and you deserve better." Rosalie bluntly states.

"I truly love your honesty, but you need to learn when it's not welcomed." Elvira dryly comments. "Alice, who's the male that you saw me within your visions about this wedding?" She directs her attention to the sheepish-looking Alice while knowing full well they would not have done this unless she saw something.

"Not a male." Alice slowly says, seeing the surprise in Elvira's eyes at those words. "Our cousins are coming and I've seen you hit it off with one of them extremely well."

"The Denali Coven." Elvira nods, recognizing the vampires that the Cullens considered family. "I've only ever meet Eleazar and Camren. I am still surprised Eleazar is not the coven leader. You saw me with one of the sisters. Irina lost her mate while Kate and Tanya haven't found theirs yet from what I've heard from Carlisle." She narrows her eyes at the duo, thoughts swimming rapidly around in her head at the mention that one of the sisters and her will click.

"We're not telling. But I will say, you two get pretty intimate during one of your talks tonight." Alice sings songs, shoving Elvira into the bathroom before running out with Rosalie and locking the door from the outside. Elvira huffs, wanting to know which one she was going to click with. She has no ill feelings toward same-sex couples especially because Finlay's romantic soulmate had been a male. The thought of ever loving someone besides her mate has never crossed her mind much less the thought of that someone being a woman. She sighs and strips her sundress off, stepping into the lukewarm water. She sinks further down and allows the scented roses to cloud her senses as she loses herself in past memories of the mate that abandoned her. After doing everything she needed, she steps out and raises her body temperature to evaporate the water droplets on her skin. Warming one's temperature had been a trick taught to Dragonborn by the werewolves. She walks out of the bathroom to be greeted with the dress and shoes Alice had bought her. The burgundy off-shoulder laced dress stops at her mid-thigh and the six-inch black open toe heels made her legs look longer. She slips on the black diamond surrounded by a silver diamond necklace along with the two rings decorated in black sapphires. She ignores the earrings and bracelets, never being a real fan of wearing them. The door opens to reveal Alice and Rosalie with makeup and hair products in hand. Elvira groans, but settles down in the vanity seat to allow them to play with her hair and makeup. Alice places matte black stilettos on her which causes Elvira to stare at her hands in confusion.

"Why are they so sharp? They look like claws." She muses.

"So you can gauge anyone's eyes out," Rosalie replied with a wicked smirk. Alice rolls her eyes at Rosalie's attitude and goes to correct her before pausing. Elvira looked more ham happy to have the nails on her fingers now as she beams at the sharp ends. Alice and Rosalie exchange a look, shrugging and continuing their work. Rosalie places burgundy lipstick on Elvira as Alice places blue-colored contacts in her eyes.

"No one can see that you have periwinkle eyes." Alice hisses after Elvira flinches away from her for the fourth time.

"Can't we just come up with a medical excuse for them?" Elvira whines. "Carlisle's a doctor, they'll believe him." The deadpan expressions she earns are enough to answer her question. She shuts up and allows the contacts to be placed in. Alice immediately starts to work on Elvira's eye makeup. Suddenly, the two vampires snort in amusement and glance at each other. "What?"

"Bella just asked Jasper if you and he had a fling in the past," Alice replies, clapping her hands and stepping away. "Your makeup is done! Damn, we did a good job." She high-fives Rosalie. Elvira rolls her eyes and stands from her sitting position. "Time to work on Bella." Elvira leaves to allow the sisters to doll up Bella and runs into Charlie Swan that matches the descriptions given to her.

"Hello, I'm Elvira Targaryen." Elvira greets him happily, reaching her hand out to shake his. He smiles awkwardly and briefly shakes her hand.

"Charlie Swan, are you a friend or cousin?" He asks while glancing at the wall covered in graduation caps.

"I'm a distant cousin of the Cullens. I bet you're not too happy to be giving your daughter away at such a young age." She muses, seeing the gleam in his eyes.

"Bella's happy, I'm happy." He shrugs. A woman strolls up the steps and smiles at the duo.

"Hello there, I'm Renee Dwyer." Renee beams confirming Elvira's suspicions that Bella takes after Charlie in not only looks but personality.

"I'm Elvira Targaryen. Do you want me to escort you to Bella?" She suggests.

"I would appreciate that considering I sent him up here to find her and he's distracted by.." Renee pauses to see what Charlie was staring at.

"Are those graduation caps?" Charlie asks.

"How creative!" Renee gushes.

"Or weird," Charlie grumbles.

"Every graduation cap is someone from the family. That one is mine right there." Elvira points to the navy blue one in the far right corner. "That one is my father's and that one is my aunt's." She gestures to two others, attempting to make the collage of graduation caps seem normal. Renee looks amazed while Charlie still seems creeped out. "Bella is right this way." Elvira gestures for them to follow her and she points to the door where the women are. "She's right through that door, have a lovely night!" Elvira leaves the house to welcome the incoming guests. She stands beside Jasper, leaning against him. "I've been in these heels for an hour and my feet are already killing me." Jasper and Emmett snort at her words.

"You could break the heel and wear flats," Emmett suggests. "But I'm sure Alice would find out and kill you."

"Death by Alice is something I wish for no one." She comments. Her mind wanders away from the conversations around her only tuning back into the world when she's greeting.

"Something's bothering you," Jasper observes quietly as they continue to watch guests stroll in.

"Alice said that I could be meeting a potential new mate tonight." Elvira whispers.

"Who?" Jasper immediately begins to survey the males in the area with a judging expression. She nudges him and gestures to the incoming Denali Coven. "One of the sisters?" He questions in a bewilderment tone which only furthers when she nods. She stomps on her foot to make him shut his mouth when the coven appears in front of them.

"We're sorry that we didn't join the fight against the newborn army yet it seems you found someone else to fight with you." Eleazar kisses Elvira's cheeks. "It's good to see you again."

"Elvira." Camren greets with a soft smile.

"It is a pleasure to see you two again. May I be introduced to the rest of your coven?" Elvira gazes at the sisters.

"This is Kate, Irina, and Tanya. Tanya is our leader. This is Elvira Targaryen, the last of the Dragonborns." Eleazar gestures to each woman as he says their names. Elvira locks eyes with Irina and pauses, sensing the same void in her heart from the loss of a mate. The missing part of Irina's heart seems to call out to Elvira. The sudden feeling of wanting to fill that void overwhelms Elvira.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance," Elvira states while not letting her eyes drift away from Irina's. "May I offer you some of our wine?" She inquiries in an attempt to be alone with her. Irina sharply inhales before slowly nodding her head. Elvira escorts Irina away and towards the alcohol.

"How old are you?" Irina curiously asks.

"I lost count after fifteen centuries," Elvira admits. "I use to be a part of the Romanian Coven if that helps you figure out how old I am." Irina's eyes slightly widen at the new information. Elvira fills up two wine glasses with purple wine and hands Irina a glass. They clink their glasses together, simultaneously taking a sip.

"Why did you ask me to come over here?" Irina inquires after a moment of silence.

"I know how it feels to lose a mate." Elvira bluntly states causing Irina to flinch. "My mate abandoned me for his revenge and your mate was killed."

"Your mate is still alive." Irina snarls, tightly curling her fingers around the wine glass. "That isn't exactly losing him."

"Your mate didn't have a choice to leave you." Elvira takes a sip. "My mate chose to leave me because I wasn't important enough for him to stay." Irina freezes seeing the deep sadness in Elvira's eyes and thinks about their differing situations. Laurent indeed did not want to leave Irina, he was going to change his eating habits and join her coven. Elvira's mate on the other hand abandoned her without second thoughts. Irina has closure while Elvira does not. Irina reaches out and gently places a hand on Elvira's shoulder.

"Maybe it is time we both seek out new mates." She suggests while slyly checking out Elvira. Elvira quirks a smile and sips on her wine, staring deeply within Irina's golden eyes.

"What exactly are you saying, Irina?" Elvira practically whispers. Irina steps closer and leans down to the shorter girl's ear. Elvira inhales at the feeling of Irina's cold breathe on her neck.

"I'm saying that you and I should go on a date after this wedding." She plants a swift kiss on the skin underneath Elvira's ear and steps away. "It's been a pleasure, Elvira." Elvira watches Irina walk away from her and briefly closes her eyes. She bows her head, softly chuckling at the fact Alice had been right.

"I see that went well." Elvira opens her eyes and glances to the side to spot Jasper smirking at her. She rolls her eyes as she strolls over. She playfully shoves him which he happily returns with a nudge. She directs her attention to the smiling Irina. She furrows her eyebrows at her strange whirling feelings in her stomach.

"Maybe it is time that I get over Vladimir. It's obvious he and Stefan aren't coming back for me."
