Fire and Ash: Chapter One

Fire and Ash: Chapter One

Inspired by The Forgotten Silent Maiden (Rise of The Betrayed) on FanFiction.Net and phociian (How to Love; In Steps) on Wattpad. I would recommend reading them first.

The News Channels, News Papers, Magazines, and Social Media all showed one disaster, a disaster that stopped leagues all over the five regions.

'Multiple fires that burned down labs, some gyms, and the stadiums, Thousands dead and injured.'

The evidence all pointed to one person, everyone around him turned his back on him, it caused him to jump off the face of the earth.

Disappear, to put it bluntly.

None of the police or rangers could find him, the only item that they could find was his hat.

Everyone assumed he was dead but many thought differently like his mother, she had thought that he did cause the fires and hand himself in but he ran away only when the hat was found she realized that she really lost her son.

That was three years ago, the presumably dead was still standing on a boat on his way to Alola to relax and to do a job that was requested.

This boy was Ash Ketchum but now it's Satoshi, it may be his middle name but not many people know that.

After being wrongfully accused in his own words he left, he knew who was behind the fires but he stayed silent.

A loud horn snapped Ash out of his thoughts, "Looks like we're here, let's go Pikachu," he mumbled.

The pair left the boat in a hurry, not wanting to talk to anyone or be in contact with anyone.

He first looked for the Pokemon Center so he could get a check up on the egg he was holding.

It took a while to look for the Pokemon Center because he didn't ask for directions from the native but when he did find he grimaced at the smell when he entered.

It didn't smell like a normal Pokemon Center; it had a distinct smell of cinnamon cookies.

He ignored the smell and walked towards the counter, "Welcome to the Melemele Island Pokemon Center!" the two pokemon one that is a Blissey next to Nurse Joy chirped along.

"Nurse Joy, can you check this egg?" he said quietly, she nodded while grabbing the egg from his hands while trying not to flinch.

Nurse Joy walked away into the back with the egg in her hands.

He looked around the place he noticed that the center was much bigger than usual ones, he continued to look around until he came across the computers.

He contemplated whether he should call the only person who believed he was innocent and thinking about how clingy that would be.

"Pika pi?" Ash looked down at Pikachu and smiled a small smile. He looked back at the computers and thought why not.

He typed in the number he hesitated before pressing the call button, "Satoshi?"

Ash shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "Yeah, Sorry for calling Paul," Ash tried to smile even with the dark thoughts that came.

"No problem, you're in Alola?" Ash nodded, "I'll be dropping the egg off soon, to Professor Kukui, right?"

Paul smiled. "Thanks for doing this for me, I would've done it but I'm quite busy, I'll be in Johto and Sinnoh for a few months, and while you're in Alola you should relax."

Ash nodded, "Once you're done you'll come?"

"Yeah." There was a ding, signaling that the check-up was done.

"Sorry for calling again, but I have to go," Ash whispered.

"You don't have to apologize, Ash, you're my friend," Paul said that quietly he wasn't sure there was anyone listening to their conversations.

"I know... that's something I would say," Ash replied before hanging up.

Ash got up to pick up the egg from the counter, "This pokemon egg is in good health," Nurse Joy smiled and he nodded while picking the egg up.

Before he left he asked, "Do you know where I can find Professor Kukui?"

She nodded and gave instructions on where to find him, "He's either in-class teaching his students, or he's at home. Which are both close together, just follow that path for ten minutes and then turn right then continue on that path until you see the school."

She smiles. He walks out of the Pokemon Center, he knows he can't afford a room in the Pokemon Center, so he wanders the streets carelessly.

He thought about where he was going to stay for the next month while waiting for Paul.

He didn't know anyone in Alola so there was no chance he was going to stay with a stranger.

Then it struck him he could camp out in the jungle of trees like old times.

He heard the vroom of a couple of motorcycles, they drove past him.

He looked confused.

Until Ash heard a Charizard roar in annoyance, a sound that was familiar to him, he ran ahead to see the same people who drove past him with the motorcycles.

"Stopping our bikes was not the smartest moves." the one in the middle said towards the guy who was standing next to a Charizard.

"Yeah, just like my bro said." the guy that had brown hair exclaimed.

While there was a crowd forming.

"Team Skull doesn't like getting anyone in our way." the guy in the middle said while the girl says, "You've got that right!"

The person who looks like he owns the Charizard replies with, "I don't remember blocking the road. The only people I see in the way are you."

Ash frowned when the guy in the middle replies with a scoff for this supposed Team Skull, "Look like we have a big talker if you can beat us in a pokemon battle, maybe we'll let you walk away."

Along with the short guy, "Yeah, but if we beat you then that Charizard of yours belongs to us."

This Team Skull lets out there pokemon about nine of them, Ash looked on with anger.

"Now tell your Charizard to fight!"

Ash released his Lucario and passed (more like shoved) him the egg, 'Mast--'  he ran in front of the guy that owns the Charizard, shocking everyone nearby.

"You're cowards, ganging up three against one," Ash growls.

"Ha! What are you going to do about it!" the guy in the middle mocks him.

"Oh, I don't know," he looked at Pikachu who nodded, "I'll battle too," he smirks.

Ash looks back to the guy who owns the Charizard and asks in a small voice, "and you're?"

"Kiawe. But I don't need any help." Ash smirked and nodded.

"Those guys are really dangerous! Be careful!" He hears someone say.

He nodded towards Pikachu, who jumped off his shoulder for dramatic effect as Ash nearly facepalmed while cringing.

He hears Kiawe say while letting his pokemon out, "Don't hurt yourself. Now Turtonator come on out!"

Ash was impressed by the pokemon strength and power he could feel in his aura.

"Now, Salandit, show them your strength with Venoshock." followed by "Yungoos, use bite!' and "Zubat, leech life!"

A simple hand motion showed Ash wanted Pikachu to use Quick Attack without words who agreed.

Pikachu knocked out Salandit in one move.

See the middle guy returns his pokemon while growling.

"That's fast and strong." he hears Kiawe whisper.

Ash ignored the comment until he heard an explosion and the other group of pokemon being knocked away.

Another group of attacks was coming toward Pikachu, dodging those attacks Ash signaled to use Thunderbolt. The group of Zubats was down.

"I'll finish this," Kiawe says.

Ash sees Kiawe use a move that Team Skull seems to be afraid of. His bracelet glows, "The zenith... of my mind. Of body and spirits, like the great mountain of Akala. Become a raging fire and burn. Inferno Overdrive."

The last of the pokemon were down because of that move that caused a large explosion and he heard Team Skull yell, "We won't forget this!" and, "Yeah, just like my bro said."

They drove away.

"Kiawe, what was that?" he mumbled.

"A Z-move," he says and Ash nods.

The crowd that was watching closed in and Ash freaked out and moved away.

Everyone looked at him confused, he snapped his fingers to bring his Lucario closer.

'Sorry, my Master doesn't like to be crowded or nor does he like people.' startling everyone around them.

"You talk?" one of them say and Lucario nods.

"That was a great battle!" an older man in the lab coat exclaims.

Something dropped on Ash's head, he looked up to see pokemon that was floating away fast.

He stayed silent; he probably didn't see anything.

He turned back to the group and quietly asked the group, "Is this the pokemon school?"

"Yes, it is!" Ash nodded as a reply he looked over to Lucario, 'Where can we find Professor  Kukui?'

The man who was wearing a lab coat announced he was Professor Kukui.

'This egg is yours.' Lucario says while passing it to him.

"Ah, Yes. You seem to enjoy battling! You should join the class. We do a lot more than battling." Professor Kukui smiled brightly.

Ash thought about it, maybe this is how he can relax, he kinda has forgotten what relaxing and fun was after a while.

Ash smiled and nodded which surprised his pokemon.

"What's your name?" he asks, 'Satoshi.' Lucario answers for him.

'If my Master is going to join this school he has a few requests.' Lucario says and they all hear Ash facepalmed but otherwise, he nodded.

Professor Kukui nodded and led them back inside, "We'll talk about that soon let's just get inside and show you around."

Professor Kukui smiled, while everyone else was chatting within themselves.

"This is the classroom, all of you please finish the work I gave all of you last week," He announced.

Professor Kukui again led them up a staircase.

'May I ask what a Z-move is?' Ash bit down a chuckle, only Lucario.

"Good question, a Z-move are special moves passed down in the Alola region. Alola consists of four islands and each of them has its own guardian pokemon. Only those who participate  in a ceremony called island challenges are able to use Z-moves." Professor Kukui explained.

Ash could just see the stars in Lucario's eyes; he looked at Ash, he mouthed 'maybe'.

"We're here." Did Ash look up to see Professor Oak? No his cousin Principal Oak.

"Oh, Alola Kukui, and who's this?"

Looking at Ash and Ash cringed at the look he was getting.

"This Satoshi, he wants to join my class," Kukui smiles brightly.

The lookalike nodded.

"Do you have any guardians or parents I can contact in case of an emergency?" Principal Oak asked turning toward Ash looking straight into his eyes.

Ash shook his head.

Both adults looked at each other their faces, as well as their aura, read that they were concerned.

Principle Oak nodded and gave him a piece of paper.

Ash read through the page: and filled the page with my information that they need.

While he was doing this he felt chills when the lookalike Oak and Kukui talked to each other without Ash hearing.

Name: Satoshi

Surname: Shooty, Ash smiled, he stole Trips Surname it's not like Trip will care he already asked if he could steal his last name.

Age: 18

Birthday: April 1

Where From? Hoenn

Dislikes: People

Likes: Pokémon, Food.

Fears: Pistanthrophobia

Strength: Battling

Signature: He signed the page with his Signature which was double S.S.

He hoped that the last name would work as a fake name.

He walked up slowly towards the other adults in the room and placed the piece of paper near them.

He saw Principle Oak glance at the paper he smiled and said, "Nice to meet chew! Satoshi."

He nodded back to him.

Before Ash knew it the T.V in the room lit up.

"Hey, Samual! It's Me! I got your egg safe and sound!"

Ash froze at the name and looked back at the screen, it was Professor Oak.

"Excellent, Samson! That's what I like to hear. I'm glad that rangers get the job done," He looked around the room.

"Where is Paul?"

The other adults looked at Ash confused.

Ash mumbled, "Paul asked me to do bring the egg."

Professor Oak glanced at Ash and Ash saw the recognition in his eyes and at this moment he knew he messed up.

"Ah, and who are you?" He asked and Ash replied knowing he can't lie.

"Satoshi." His eyes lit up.

"Well thank you, Satoshi."

The phone call ended after five minutes of the adults talking.

"Well, Satoshi since your from Hoenn you don't have a place to stay, you could always come and stay at my place." Professor Kukui suggested.

"If I do, please consider that I will probably run away if I feel unsafe," Ash mumbled.

He nodded "You have Pistanthrophobia, I'll try to keep my boundaries."

Ash nodded as he led me out of the Office to the Classroom.

"Your welcome to join the class or explore MeleMele Island." Professor Kukui smiled, and Ash sat down in an empty seat, surprising his pokemon.

Meanwhile with Professor Oak in Kanto:

"Why does Satoshi sound so familiar?" Professor Oak paced around.

That's when Tracey and Gary walked in, looking at the Professor Oak confused.

"Gramps, what's up?"

Tracey walked around them to go to the kitchen to make tea for all of them, well coffee for Gary.

"Gary? Oh, do you know what Satoshi sounds so familiar?" Professor Oak asked Gary.

Gary thought about it for a bit to realize that it's Ash's middle name.

"Its Ash's middle name, Why?" Gary replied confused.

They heard Professor Oak gasp, "Ash is in Alola!"

Tracey spit out the tea that he took a sip from and said, "what?" as well as Gary.

"How did you come up with that conclusion Gramps?"

"Someone who looked like Ash, said that their name was Satoshi and well Paul asked him to take the egg to Samson."

They all thought about the information that was given.

"That makes sense," Tracey mumbled.

"That would mean that Paul knew where Ash was," Gary and all sat down.

"We can ask him when he gets back from Johto," Gary growled, Tracey nodded.

"But that's like four weeks away. Oh, I got it!" Tracey exclaimed while opening his phone.

"You boys can do whatever I'm not a part of this. I'll let Delia know." Professor Oak drank his tea in silence.

6:56 pm - Kanto - Chat: Can it.

POPA: aye! Paul.

"Good idea, Trace," Gary noted.

GareBear: Paul!

POPA: Paul!

GareBear: Paul!

DraGOn: Would you two can it!

DeadInside: What.

GareBear: You knew where Ash was this whole time!

DeadInside: Yeah, so what?

Waterflower: you knew where he was and didn't say anything!

ShttShot: who said it was only him?

DraGOn: what?

GareBear: you have a lot of explaining to do when you get back.

DeadInside: if you want to know the reason why he hasn't returned after his sentence was lifted you should ask him.

GareBear: sure ask the criminal.

DeadInside: *left read*

Waterflower: did he just... oh never-mind.

Back with Ash or Satoshi if you prefer:

The class finished about two hours ago and both Ash and Professor Kukui are on the path back to Kukui's house.

"You know Lillie she has Pokephobia," Professor Kukui said breaking the silence while glancing towards Ash.

"She does?" Kukui nodded to confirm.

The sun was setting and the view was amazing but Ash wasn't paying attention to it.

He was thinking about how much he feels comfortable with Kukui, 'the other people I feel comfortable with is Liza, Paul, Reggie, Trip, and possibly Drew.'

He looked back up and noticed a small shack, "that my house and lab," Professor Kukui chuckled.

Ash nodded, this looked shady.

They entered the place and let's just say that it may have the same smell as the pokemon center, and it felt like home...

No...

It felt like someplace that anyone would feel comfortable.

After Professor Kukui showed him around the place, he made dinner for all of them including a dog like a pokemon who the Professor called Rockruff.

"You know you can let your pokemon out," Professor Kukui noted.

"Uh, thanks but they don't trust people like me they're a lot worse because I fly and they fight. Except these two they're a lot more servile unless they feel threatened." Ash whispered while sitting down, to see what was on the T.V which was on.

"Okay," Ash heard a noise outside and froze.

He felt an aura around them and noticed it had a legendary pokemon strength.

He glanced outside, it was the same pokemon as before.

He got up and walked outside to the beach, he heard Professor Kukui get up and ask where he was going but he didn't reply.

There was a bright light above him, and something was floating down towards him.

It was the bracelet like the one Kiawe has.

He hears Professor Kukui whisper, "Tapu Koko."

Ash grabbed the object and held it then put it on grimacing at the scars underneath his hoodie, he looked back up to see that the pokemon disappeared.

He glanced down at the bracelet and smiled, and thought here we go again.

He could feel the same aura from his pokemon but was startled by Kukui being next to him. "Sorry if I startled you but you just met the guardian deity of Melemele Island."

Ash nodded knowing what he was dealing with.

We soon heard a ringing coming from the house and Ash heard Kukui mumbled, "Work, work, and more work." he giggled.

'Master, guess your stay in Alola is going to be extended.'

Ash sat down on the sand and smiled "I guess it is, I just hope that I don't get caught."

He grimaced at the memories.

Pikachu and Lucario soon joined him on the sand while looking at the waves splash.

'I don't think you will.' Lucario said.

Ash smiled (knowing that it was strained) at the positive attitude his pokemon gave, only if he still had his own.
