Walking across the meadow I find myself deep in thought. I can't find rest until I know what to do. I hear a swish of grass behind me. I take my knife and spin around but there is nothing but flowers and grass.

Again I turn and see nothing.

Brrrrrggggggh I hear a snorting something like a horse. but it scares me out of my wits. I jump and turn. I see the warm brown eyes of my very own Lightning. he whinnies as if he was laughing. his black muzzle nuzzling my neck. I stroke black coat.

After a few seconds I eye my little daughter Cintha sitting on his back. I grin.

"Hello fair stranger what brings you here?"

"Daddy! It's me Cintha!"

"No your not, I've never seen you before. Wait! How do you even know I have a daughter. Did you kidnap her?"

"Daddy!"

I laugh heartily and pluck her off Lighting and hold her against me. She a tall child for her age but in terms of humans in general she is very small.

When she was born my resolve had broken. I used be hotheaded and mischievous as my late father would say. When Cintha was born father said I had changed from a boy to a man.

Cintha keeps me to this world. She along with Adah are my rock. Some of the many people I am fighting for.

"Daddy?" Questions the girl my arms.

"Yes honey?"

"Why are you always going away for a long then come back hurt?" She questions. Her innocent eyes boring holes into mine. I inwardly sigh. Cintha doesn't know that the world she lives in is tearing apart. She doesn't know that her nation is dying. Thaejab is dying.

"I go because there are bad people out there and I have to kill them"

"Daddy are you a soldier?"

I grin. Grateful for her innocence..

"Of a sort" I answer.

"Mummy said she will have your hide if you don't come home soon"

I change my expression into that of mock surprise.

"Is that so?" I ask her. Cintha and Lightning nod their heads in earnesty. I let a laugh escape my lips. "Then I guess we better get home".
