Fire
I can't take it anymore
Not another damn second of it
I literally feel like I'm burning
Stuck in an inferno
That is inextinguishable whether
By a single tear or a drop of blood
From which the fire springs forth
And as the timbers and roof
Coming crashing down around me
I see a way to escape
Down an emblazoned hallway
I throw my eyes to the charred
Smoke and ember smothered door
I take off running
My feet digging into the floor
And being charred at the soles
Timbers falling and hitting me
Setting my clothes ablaze
I can feel and smell my skin and hair
Being seared off my body
But I keep running
Without a care in the world
Except making it to that door
Whether you'll be on the other side
I don't know
Whether I'll make it in time
I don't know
With my shoulder making way
I burst through the door
The wood splintering around me
Ash and blackened crumbs engulfing me
My blistered feet hitting the concrete of the porch
The shattered door tumbling down the steps
Me standing there an ashy and burned riddled mess
I look down to where the door lays and see you
Standing just a little ways beyond it
I peer back over my shoulder
A feeling of uncaring dread washes over me
I see a large fireball rushing for me
And with no time to react I become engulfed
I feel as if I'd been dropped in Antarctic waters
The heat was so great I felt like I was freezing
I felt my body sizzling as my arms flailed
My body falling to wretched pieces as I drop to my knees
The rest of me hitting the ground first my chest
Then my head following soon after
And my last sight was of you
With shock and utter horror stricken across your face
Your hand clutching your mouth shrieking
And the flickering glow of the burning house
Dancing on your body
I watch as you fall to your knees
Then finally I'm extinguished
I awake in a room the floor and walls
Painted bright shining white almost a metallic look
I turn and see the fourth and final wall is mist
And through it I see a black figure but as it got closer
I saw that it was a girl dressed in black
Her hair was black and her entire body painted in black
Except for her eyes were a piercing bright orange
She held out her hand to me
I reach out and place my hand on hers
Gently wrapping my fingers around her hand
And hers around mine
She gives a quick jolting pull as she leads me along
Into the mist and as we enter I feel a coolness around me
Like a spring morning with the smell of flowers and grass
Washing over me and with the consistent pull of her hand
We disappeared never to come out again
