Chapter 9: Redemption
-Zeref P. O. V.-
After the ashes cleared, our green haired cowgirl friend, Bisca, had fallen on top of her crush, our black haired gunslinger, Alzack. This should be good.
"B-Bisca..." Alzack stuttered, obviously embarrassed. "I'm s-sorry..."
Bisca immediately shook her head, probably blushing. It was hard to tell from where I was standing. "N-No, no, no, no. It was m-my fault..."
"P-Please, it's alright..." he replied. "At least it d-didn't hurt..."
I looked over at Cana. From her smirk, I could tell that she was thinking of a breast joke.
Juvia had stood up and dusted herself off. Seems like Gray was out of energy or perhaps Juvia landing on him really took the air out of him, probably the former, because he was still lying face-down in a pile of ashes. Either way, Juvia was giving Bisca a weird look, almost like a signal. Too bad she couldn't see her.
"Alzack... I..."
Mira, who already had her creepy smile, looked as if she was about to squeal, Juvia smiled, sweetly, and Cana looked ready to pounce with perverted jokes, when we heard a very annoyed, angry voice.
"BISCA!"
Bisca seemed frozen as Alzack looked behind her, also looking frozen. We all turned and saw our dorm's hall monitor who, by chance, also happened to be the school's head hall monitor.
Laki Olietta. (Yes, that's her real name.)
"What do you think you're doing!?" She started marching towards us.
Quickly, the two lovebirds got up and dusted themselves off. "Nothing!" Bisca was clearly embarrassed, but also sounded afraid.
"That's not what it looked like to me!" She marched into the center of our circle of friends, on top of the fire pit, as well as standing on Gray's back. She didn't seem to notice him. "It looked like you were doing dirty things in the dirt with that cowboy!"
"Leave her alone!" Juvia suddenly broke in.
The two girls fought for a moment. Realizing that this would take a while, I decided to end this now. "So, Laki, what day will these guys be in redemption?"
Juvia shot me an angry look, but after seeing my smirk, caught on to my idea. "Yes, Laki. Juvia agrees that Alzack and Bisca should get a day of redemption, at least!"
Bisca and Alzack calmed down, though it seemed like only the girl knew what the plan was. "Yes, Laki. Alzack and I will gladly serve our time in redemption for this terrible accident."
Laki smiled in that was that people do when they feel like they just won. "I agree." She pulled out a little pad of light blue paper and started scribbling things down and pulling off pieces after doing so. I frowned when she started grabbing more than two papers.
She handed one to Alzack and Bisca. Then turned and gave one to Cana. "You two for this incident, and this sex fiend for what happened in the dorm."
She then gave another to Juvia. "You too, Stalker. You were there too." Juvia frowned. My plan was going downhill fast.
She pulled off another. "Last one. Where's the stripper?"
Though, this could work.
"You're standing on him." Laxus stated, his expression unchanging.
Laki looked down and almost screamed as she jumped off of him. Alzack, Elfman and I all helped Gray to his feet. Despite having his entire face, shirt, and part of his hair covered in grey ashes, he seemed to be his usual, tsundere self. "What happened?"
Laki shoved this slip into his hand. "You get a redemption. This Friday. Don't be late, Stripper." With that, she stomped back towards the dorm.
"Damn, I forgot to ask her why she came back here." Bisca said, putting the slip into her pocket.
"Umm..." Wendy spoke up. "What is 'redemption?.'"
"Redemption is kinda like detention. It's like Laki's personal detention. The teachers give detention, but Laki found a way to convince the principal to allow her to give redemptions. Laki only gives them to people for PDAs. So, you should be fine, Wendy." I told her.
"Are they bad? Like, do they appear on our permanent record or something?" Chelia asked.
"No, luckily, the principal isn't stupid. Getting a redemption is basically being forced to go to a club meeting for a club you aren't a member of and don't like. You won't get penalized or anything. She also can't give them away on the weekend." I, once again, answered.
"Why can't she?" Romeo asked.
"Do you think the principal was dumb enough to let Laki give a Saturday redemption to someone which causes him to open the school on the weekend, JUST because Laki doesn't like PDAs?"
All the younger kids, except Eve, nodded. "Fair point." That made me wonder.
"Eve, you seem pretty familiar with these rules. Have you heard about redemption?"
Eve nodded. "The other Trimens have been telling me all the rules here since we first met last year. I know about redemption and all that." He and the other two Trimens did a pose.
"Best friends will always stick together!" All three shouted.
"You're dumb and you're poses are dumb." Everyone cracked up as the Trimens sweatdropped from Laxus's comment. Even Gray, who had finally gotten all the ashes off his face and shirt, and out of his hair.
That's when the bell finally rang for first period. "Well, I guess it's time to go. Let's have a good year, guys. See you all at lunch. Good luck, little sister." I headed towards the main building, as did everyone else, except for the freshmen. They have to go to the secondary building for their orientation. Mavis hopped to my side. "Where are you going, Mavis? I have to go to Room 117 for History."
She smiled widely. "So do I! I'm so happy I get to be in at least one of your classes!"
I smiled, then flinched when an arm slung around my neck and another around Mavis's, which made me upset that someone would do that to her.
"Hey, I'm in your first class, too, big bro!" I felt less upset, but more annoyed that it was only Natsu who had invaded our personal space and interrupted us before we could start the real conversation and forced himself between us walking to class.
"So am I." Lucy said, walking beside Mavis.
"Anyone else?" Mavis asked, slightly annoyed.
"Only us."
I looked to my left and saw a smiling Jellal next to Erza.
As least it wasn't Cana.
