Chapter 17: Sleepover Plans

-Erza P. O. V.-

The bell rang for lunch, third period was over.

We all started getting out of our seats, grabbing our backpacks, and leaving the room to head down to the cafeteria.

I walked with my friends who were with me in third period, Kagura, Millianna, and Minerva.

"So, yeah. Kinana is having a sleepover for all the girls this weekend to break in the new school year. She asked me to help her spread the news around a bit. Can I expect you three to come?"

"Sorry, Erza, but not me. Not this week. You remember how strict my dad is." Minerva said.

We all nodded, slightly wincing at the memory of him. Minerva's father is a teacher here, and not only that, but he's also the dorm master of the Sabertooth dorm. He is a stickler for the rules, and was one of the biggest supporters of Laki's redemption plan. He is a man to be feared.

"Well, I can come, Erza. My brother isn't THAT strict, you know?"

Then there's Kagura's family situation. She lives with her brother, Simon. Their parents and my parents were all from the same original hometown. But, one day, these bad men invaded, killing all adults and took the kids as slaves. We weren't the only ones, though. Millianna was another slave. So was Jellal. Along with some more of our friends, Sorano, Macbeth, Sawyer, Richard, Erik, Wally, and Sho. It was a terrible time, but an old man named Rob helped Jellal and I lead an escape. Ever since, he's been a guidance counselor here. We've all looked at him as a friend, even those of us lucky enough to have not suffered the cruel treatment of slavery.

"What about you, Millianna?" I asked the girl.

"If Kagura is going, I can go, too! We do live with each other. Erzy, this is a great idea!" the girl cheered. Millianna liked to dress up like a cat, and she loves cats. She also loves being the teacher's pet to Mr. Happy, Ms. Carla, and a few others.

"Cool! This is gonna be an awesome weekend!"

-Kinana P. O. V.-

I was on my way to lunch with Lucy and Juvia. We were talking about my sleepover this weekend.

"So, it has nothing to do with settling into the new year at all, huh?" Lucy said.

I awkwardly tapped my fingers together. "Yeah. There's something that I want to talk with all of you about, in private, and I want to make sure that no boys overhear it! Ever! Especially not... you know..."

Juvia put her hand on my shoulder. "Juvia understands. Perhaps we can all discuss our own problems at Kinana's sleepover as well."

I looked at her. "Do you have a problem, Juvia?"

She nodded. "Juvia kinda does. It involves the day after Kinana's sleepover, this Sunday. Juvia... is going to hang out with Gray-sama at the mall this Sunday, and Juvia wishes to ask Juvia's friends for any advice."

"I also have a bit of a problem." Lucy added.

"What? You look totally fine." I told her.

"Well, I'll go over all the details at the sleepover, but right now, I'm worried about Natsu."

"Lucy's always worried about Natsu. Because Lucy likes Natsu!" Juvia chimed.

"That's not what I mean." Lucy said, blushing. "Listen, I'll explain Saturday, but me, Yukino, and Kagura witnessed a scene on the roof between Sting and Rogue and Natsu. I think someone needs to worry about him."

"I agree." I told her. "Based on the stuff Natsu's done in the past, he may be losing his sanity juuuuuuust a little bit."

"Juvia also agrees."

"Thanks gals." Lucy said, smiling.

We walked into the cafeteria, and then I froze.

I think Lucy was starting to say something, but I couldn't hear her.

My eyes were locked on someone I noticed sitting at a table with his friends.

Erik Cobra.

He was incredible. Incredibly handsome. Incredibly mysterious. Incredibly cool. Incredibly awesome.

Incredibly incredible.

"Kinana?" Lucy said. "Kinanaaaaaa." She was waving her hand in front of my face.

"Kinana!" Lucy shook me by my shoulders, snapping me back to reality.

"S-Sorry..." I stuttered.

Lucy smirked at me. "It's fine. We all know you have a massive crush on Erik!"

Juvia giggled. "Juvia can't tell who has the bigger crush! Juvia or Kinana!"

I blushed. "Come on..."

"Does your true purpose of the sleepover have anything to do with him?" Lucy asked.

I nodded. "Of course. But, it's not about how to ask him out. There's... something I haven't told you guys about me and him... Something that happened a long time ago... 5 years, to be exact."

"You remember the exact date?" Lucy asked.

I nodded again. "Well, yeah. It was a very important day for me. I even have it marked on my calendar."

Lucy put her hand on my shoulder this time. "I get it. Don't worry. We'll help you, right Juvia?"

We turned to find that Juvia was gone.

We quickly scanned the cafeteria for her and spotted her blue hair in the lunch line, talking to Gray.

That's our Juvia.
