Chapter 15: Rivals?
-Gray P. O. V.-
This is even MORE bullshit.
First period, I sit next to someone I can have a pleasant conversation with, surrounded by idiots, and now second period, surrounded by more idiots, AND LYON IS STILL HERE!
I felt something poke my back and jolted around to see Lyon poking me with a pencil. He had a very angry expression on his face.
"What was that note that Juvia passed to you last period about!?" Oh god.
Lyon used to have a crush on Juvia, but he got over it and apparently he found a new one, but he never told anyone. I think. He never talks about it.
"Are you upset or something? I thought you were over her." I groaned.
"I am! You know that! I'm not your rival! Are you two finally going out?"
Oh, that's what this is about. "That is none of your business."
"So, you didn't have the balls to ask her out. Did she ask you?" This guy really pisses me off.
"I said it's none of your business!"
"Would you two shut up? I can't hear Ms. Frosch." Rogue grumbled next to us.
We stopped talking and I turned around.
"Teacher's pet." I grumbled.
-Wendy P. O. V.-
I tried to get to class early, so I could give the letter to Ms. Carla, but I was too late.
After class, I went up to her desk. She was checking some papers. I cleared my throat and she looked up at me.
"What do you want, child?" She asked.
"You called my name at role call. I'm Wendy Dragneel. I have a letter from Ms. Corona for you." I set the letter down on the desk. She picked up the envelope up and pulled the letter out. It took her a moment. After she was done, she just set the letter down and started checking more papers.
"Umm... what did you think of the letter?" I had to ask for Ms. Corona.
She looked back up at me. "This news troubles me. Ms. Corona has written to me that some of her art supplies are missing, though, that's only a minor side note. The main subject is that the librarian, Mr. Samuel, has fallen ill to an autumn case of the flu, so now I have to temporarily take his place. In the mean time, I'll have a substitute tomorrow. Whoever it is, they'll be a lot better than one of those teachers from Edolas University."
I tiled my head in confusion. "Edolas University? What's that?"
"You remember the orientation? The rude child that just yelled out if this was the only college in the state? Well, he was mistaken. Edolas University. Practically our rivals at this point. We face them in sports, spelling bees, the typical school competitions. You might meet them eventually, but be careful. I don't want my students to get hurt."
"Well, why don't we just be friends?"
She shook her head. "We've been competing for ages. Nobody can change that.Trust me, the juniors tried that when they were sophomores. Your older brother, Zeref, tried to be an ambassador of sorts an negotiate a treaty, but your other brother, Nathan or whatever, broke down the door during the interview and threw chili peppers at them all. Personally, I think we could make amends, but not when that idiot is involved. You want to make peace with them? Talk to Zeref! He came the closest so far. Now, go off to class. You'll be late for third period."
I nodded and ran out the door. Before I did, I looked back at her. "Thanks for talking with me!"
She didn't look up. "Yeah, whatever. Off to class now, child." I left her room and went towards my next class.
She seemed like a nice lady.
-Lucy P. O. V.-
"Lucy... Levy... stop it..." Yukino said, shyly.
"You can't deny it! You know that he likes you! He can't be talking about anyone else!" Levy told her. After Yukino learned that I told Levy about the roof, we started teasing her about how Sting was obviously talking about her.
"Yeah, I agree. Sting has denied every girl who asked him to the prom and his eyes always light up when you two became partners in class last year."
"That's... just a coincidence..." Poor in denial Yukino.
"Search your feelings! You know it must be true! Join the dark side!" Levy said.
"Wh-what!? What dark side!?" Yukino panicked.
"Just a joke, Yukino. The first two statements of that quote were true, so I wanted to finish it."
"I don't think that's exactly how that quote went, Levy." I added.
"We can just ask Rufus later, Lu. Don't worry about it." Levy said, shrugging off the matter.
"How has the teacher not yelled at you three, yet?" Erza asked from behind us.
I pointed to the front of the room. "Professor Crux fell asleep."
Erza clasped her hands together. "Oh yay!" She pulled out her phone and started texting, eagerly.
"Who are you texting?" Levy asked.
"Kinana." She answered quickly.
"Why?" I asked.
"She's in Mr. Happy's class right now. He left to get some fish. We're working on the details for this Saturday."
"What's going on on Saturday?" Yukino asked.
"She's having an all girls sleepover to get us ready for the new year! You guys can come, right?"
We all nodded. "Yeah, sure." I said.
"Sounds like fun!" Yukino said.
Levy smirked slyly. "I can come... I'm planning a few things already..."
"Oh no..." Yukino and I both said.
Levy likes to go a bit overboard with the whole 'teasing each other about our crushes' thing. But just mentioning Gajeel will get her to stop. But, I'm worried for what she's planning to do...
Last time, she tried convincing Erza to go to Jellal's house and "go commando" on his couch...
And she almost did it, too.
