Chapter 12: Rules And More Homerooms

-Wendy P. O. V.-

The orientation wasn't that long. It just explained a lot of the rules. Eve and Chelia fell asleep, leaning on each other. Romeo silently pulled out his phone to take a picture of them.

The basic rules were:

1. You must be in class, unless you have a hall pass.

2. The only times you are free to roam around school is during lunch and during free period.

3. There are 2 free periods. One before homeroom, and one after lunch.

4. If you are not in school, then you will automatically be marked absent if you do not arrive before homeroom ends. If you do, you will be marked as late.

5. No students allowed in the following areas, unless special conditions arise. Teacher's Lounge, Boiler Room, Basement, Kitchen.

Those were simple enough. My main concern was what to do during the free periods. I guess I'll just hang out with Chelia, Eve, and Romeo.

After the slide show was over, Romeo shook Eve to wake him and Chelia up as the lights came back up.

"Okay, students. That's the end of the orientation. Does anyone have any questions?" Ms. Carla asked into the microphone.

A hand shot in the air. "Yes, you!" She said, pointing at them.

"Why do you two have tails and cat ears?" The kid yelled.

I could see the vain practically popping out of Ms. Carla's forehead.

"Any other questions?" She asked, sounding a bit angry.

No one dared to raise a hand.

"Well then. Now that orientation is over, you all will-"

"Wait!" Mr. Happy yelled into the mic, making us all cover our ears. "Sorry, students. Ms. Carla,  what about the other speaker?"

She seemed to calm down and smiled with relief. "I forgot about that. Students!" she said turning to us. "Until second period, you all will listen to another member of staff here. Please show some respect for our principal..." A short man in a fancy black business suit walked out to the podium. Mr. Happy ran off the stage and brought back a stool for him to stand on.

"Mr. Toma E. Fiore!" (From the show/manga, he's the king.)

-Levy P. O. V.-

"I think you need to be more optimistic."

Gajeel scoffed.

"That is, if you know what the word 'optimistic' means, Gajeel."

He scoffed again.

Gajeel sat behind me, we both had window seats. To my right...

"That's not such a lovely attitude, either." Sherry. Next to her...

"Either way, you still need to appreciate women better than you do." Jenny.

Gajeel nearly slammed his fist on the desk. "What is this!? A game of 'Everything Wrong With Gajeel!?'"

Ren, who was behind Sherry, pat his shoulder. "You also need to work on your anger."

"And your volume. You almost just screamed in the middle of class." Hibiki, next to Ren, behind Jenny.

Gajeel put his head down on his desk. "Fuck all of you."

"Don't use that language in class or Mr. Sequen will punish you." I scolded the delinquent behind me.

He groaned in annoyance. "He won't care. He loves everyone at this school, and I'm not heartless."

I turned around to face him. "What?"

He lifted his head up and looked me in the eye. "I care about some people, only a few are lucky enough to know who they are, the rest can figure it out for themselves."

"Gajeel..."

He smirked. "You're one 'cause you got my pity from you being too short."

"I'm not short." And I faced forward again.

At least I know that he cares about me...

-Elfman P. O. V.- (Prepare for this one.)

We got Mr. Gaebolg as a homeroom teacher!

That's so manly!

I also get to sit between the silent badass Laxus, and his cool pal Bixlow!

That's also manly!

Then, behind them is my older and younger sisters, Mira and Lisanna, respectively, and Evergreen, the calm and collected fairy girl!

That's so ma-

"What are you daydreaming about?" Ever asked, hitting the back of my head with her fan.

"Nothing." I respond, rubbing the back of my head. "Why do you even carry around that fan, anyway?"

She crosses her arms and turns her head. "That's none of your business."

Mira giggles. "It's nice to be in homeroom with you guys."

Laxus sighs. "I don't see why. Elfman yells 'man,' Evergreen hits him, they start arguing, and I just can't take it every day."

"We don't argue that much, Laxus." Ever retorts.

"It takes a real man to deny the obvious."

She hit me with her fan again.

-Alzack P. O. V.- (Last one for this chapter.)

I am simultaneously the luckiest high school student in the world, and the unluckiest.

Does that make me Makoto Naegi?

I get to sit in front of the most amazing girl ever, Bisca, but Laki is right next to her, which practically means that I'll never get to try to make a move on her. Like I could ever get the courage anyway.

Max was in front of her, to my left, and to his left was Freed, staring out the window. Probably daydreaming about something. Behind him was Kinana, also staring out the window.

She was probably dreaming about that guy she likes. She just won't tell us his name.

Our homeroom teacher, Mr. Yajima, was droning on about history at the front of the room, but I didn't care.

All I could think about was the new year. We were juniors now. Most of our parents had allowed us to date, and I had a funny feeling.

I had a feeling that a lot of things were going to change...

All I could think about was Bisca...
