Chapter 10: Orientation

-Romeo P. O. V.-

After the bell rung, Wendy, Chelia, Eve and I started walking to the secondary building. From what Dad's been telling me, it's more of an auditorium with a backstage and a little lobby type of room outside it, like a theater or something.

"So, are you guys excited to go this school, too?" Chelia asked, skipping alongside us, between Wendy and Eve.

"Yeah, Chel. Not only do I get to hang out with my best friends and my brothers, but we get to hang out with our siblings' really cool friends! And I heard that the teachers here are really nice! Well, most of them." Wendy said with her usual happy attitude.

"You're always so optimistic, Wen." I said, poking her shoulder.

I noticed a slight blush. Was that embarrassing for her? "T-Thanks, I guess..."

"Anyway, I heard from the guys that the cafeteria here is huge!" Eve chimed in. "They said it has a whole bunch of tables, and really good food!"

"How many tables is a whole bunch?" I asked the blonde boy.

"Well, according to the guys, there are about 500 students at this school. Each table can fit a maximum of 50 students, and they mentioned that the students spread out, so there's a minimum of 1 at each table, so they have..." He paused to think.

"Woah, woah, woah. Cool your jets, snowball. It's the first day. Don't start doing crazy math." I gave him a noogie to snap him back to reality.

"Right. Right guys. First day, don't panic." He said as we entered the secondary building. The lobby area, I think it's called the waiting room, was full of other freshmen. It was really crowded, but we tried to stay close so we could sit together at the orientation. More kids came in the doors and we got really squished in there. I looked around. I could see Chelia and Eve. It was so cramped that Chelia's chest was being pushed into Eve's arm, and they were both blushing madly. It was hilarious! If I could reach my phone, I would take a picture!

"R-Romeo...?"

I looked down and saw Wendy. "What's wrong, Wen?"

She looked at me for a second and then I realized that she was being pushed into my chest.

"S-Sorry, Wendy. I can't d-do anything. It'll be over s-soon, I promise..."

A loud female voiced silenced the crowd. "Everyone, inside the auditorium!"

"So, it IS an auditorium." I mumbled. I guess that the whole building is called the secondary building and part of it is the auditorium.

The crowd slowly filed into the auditorium, filling up rows of seats. I sat down somewhere around the middle rows. Wendy sat next to me, Chelia next to her, and Eve after her. There were a couple kids on my left and some more sat down next to Eve, filling up the rest of the row. I turned to Wendy and whispered "Watch this." into her ear. I then leaned forward a little bit so that I could see Eve and Chelia better.

"So, Eve. I saw that when things were really crowded in there, you and Chelia took that chance to enjoy yourselves~"

The two of them slunk down in their seats, blushing madly again.

Wendy looked confused so I quickly whispered what I saw in the waiting room and she giggled.

The lights dimmed, so we turned our attention to a stage at the bottom of the rows of seats. A wooden podium stood in the center of the stage. A large white projector screen slid down from the ceiling in front of the red curtain that went all across the stage. A woman with white hair and glasses wearing a dark brown female teacher-esque suit walked up to the stage, holding a microphone.

It was hard to see, but it kind of looked like her hair was styled into cat ears. And... is that... a tail...?

"Hello students!" She said into the microphone. Her voice was calm and slightly stern, but it was also kind of gentle and honest. "Welcome to your first year at Fiore University! Here, we pride ourselves on being the best college in our wonderful state of Fiore!"

"Isn't this the only college in the state of Fiore?" Some kid yelled from somewhere in the front rows.

"Silent, child!" The woman yelled at the kid. She then cleared her throat and spoke back into the microphone. "Please save all questions until the end of the slide show. Speaking of which, let's start the slide show!" She gestured her hand to the white screen. After a moment, nothing happened.

She slammed her fist down on the podium. "Who has the controller!?" She yelled off the stage.

"I-I do...!" A timid voice said, barely being able to be heard from behind the curtain.

"Get out here!" The woman yelled. A thin man with blue hair and wearing a lighter brown male teacher-esque suit ran out from behind the curtain, holding something attached to a wire. He also seemed to have cat ears for hair, as well as a tail waving frantically behind him as he ran.

Right before he reached the podium, he tripped and fell. "Oww..." We could barely hear that, too.

The woman walked over and picked up the device from his hand. "Thank you."

The man stood up and dusted himself off as the woman walked back to the podium. He hurried to her side. "Wait, shouldn't we introduce ourselves before we give the presentation?"

The woman thought for a second. She sighed, then gave him a slightly annoyed, slightly happy expression. "Fine." She put the microphone into a holder on the podium and fixed it so that we could hear them both equally. The man fist bumped.

"I am Mr. Happy, and I will be your math teacher!" he moved over a little to make room for the woman.

"And I am Ms. Carla. I will be your history teacher."

"She seems nice." Wendy whispered to me.

"Now, let's start the slide show. Mr. Happy, you stand there and do nothing. I'll handle the presentation."

He did a salute. "Yes, ma'am!" He then took a fish out of his pocket and started nibbling on it while looking at the screen. Where did he even get that? How did he fit it in there? Oh well.

This should be an interesting school, to say the least.
