Chapter 19: You can applaud now

                                                                  Ash

For the last thirty minutes I have been sitting on my bed with a girl and reciting terrible love poems to her. Yes you heard me. I have a girl in my bed. Not in a weird way. I'm not going to deny that I want there to be more going on now. And if I told you that my mind isn't a total gutter right now, I'd be lying.

"Wait listen to this one. I've fallen in love- I don't now why I've fallen in love with a girl with one eye. I knew from the start. It was plain to see, that this wonderful girl had an eye out for me." I said avoiding Fiona's eyes.

"Oh, God. These are terrible," she said, grinning.

"I mean what did you expect from a book called 'Best amateur love poems'"

"The cover looked nice"

"Agreed,"

Fiona turned on her side and closed her eyes. She yawned and said:

"Read the next one,"

I think I should get an awarded for "First Guy To Have a Girl In His Bed And Not Engage In Sexual Activity". I am a true gentleman. Hold your applause to the end of the chapter.

"When darkness falls and we're apart, can love heal this lonely heart? I love you dearly that I do. Sleep is good when dreaming of you." I paused and said. "It's true love, right Fiona? Fiona?"

I looked to the right and saw her quietly asleep. I could feel her breath against my arm. I gingerly reached for my lamp and turned off my light. I tuned over on my side and faced her. Who said group projects aren't fun.

I woke up to a hand tapping my shoulder.

"Ash! Ash! Wake up!" It was Fiona.

"What? Are we late?"

"No! Look! We're going to miss the sun rise!" she said and rushed over to my window. She pulled open the curtains. Her hair soaked up the color of the sun rise. Pink, yellow and blue from the sky was surrounding her. I sat up taking in her beauty. "Ash, come on! Get up!"

"Take a chill pill! I'm coming!" I said getting up. I stood next to her taking in the view. It looked that the sky was made of cotton candy and yellow starburst. I looked at her. She looked so happy. Like when we were leaving the book store and we were looking at the sunset. I knew she felt what I was feeling. If she wasn't then I got to at least try.

"Fiona?" I said, my heart pounding.

"Yeah," she was still looking at the sunrise. I put my hand on her chin and turned her towards me. I put my hand on her waist and pulled her closer. My face leaned into hers. Our lips touched. Hers were warm and soft. I was about to pull away but she put her hand on my head and pulled me closer. My right hand moved down her back and stopped at her waist. With my left hand I ran my fingers through her hair. Her hands were on my face.

When we finally pulled away. We were both out of breath and panting. I took her hand in my hands and kissed it.

"I don't need to see the sun rise or the sun set, when I have you to look at. Your beautiful Fiona,"

You can applaud now.
